Fellow community members, we of the council are looking for new Tournament Organizers. The tournaments are currently undermanned and to guarantee top-quality tournaments at all times we simply need more active TOs.
The forum needs several extra TOs that can host tournaments on either the
Eastern times: 06, 07 and 08 GMT or the
Western times: 18, 19 and 20 GMT. If you cannot do this consistently,
don't apply.
Exactly how many TOs we will be hiring is as of yet uncertain. But we sincerely hope many will apply.
Tournament OrganizersThe work of a Tournament Organizer can be divided into two areas: planning and hosting. Main tasks:
Discuss and plan future tournaments with the other TO's. This includes agreeing on the designated TO's for each tourney, and letting the other TO's know if you won't be available.[/li]Optimise deck-building rule balance and make sure the rules are kept simple and accurate.[/li]Tweak existing tourney concept ideas and come up with new ideas.[/li]Provide support to the community, be it questions via PM, chat or in the tournament threads.[/li]
Coordinate matches between participants when the tourney has started.[/li]Resolve conflicts between participants. These can range from desynchs to accusations of cheating. You need to be able to keep a cool head and make decisions objectively.[/li]Make sure rounds are finished in time and make executive decisions if participants run over time too much.[/li]Answer pressing questions in chat when the tourney is ongoing.[/li]
If you have questions regarding the work of a TO, feel free to PM me about it.
If you're interested, send a PM to me titled "Tournament Organizer Application". Your application will be shared with the rest of the council, and we will discuss the matter. Don't forget to read about what the council looks for in an applicant (
