Just want to mention that as-is, it is or will be a huge workload for the deck helpers.
This is incorrect. It's actually very easy. Did you read that tutorial I posted in the "secret" section?

You don't need to check every new topic individually. All you need to do it list topics by replies and compare that list to Deck Archive. This can be done for example once per week. Easy.

An example of more difficult job would be Card Curators who do have to check each individual topic, finding flaws, suggesting improvements, and finally moving the idea and editing the poll.

As for deck helpers selecting "good" decks.. Just like with card ideas, I'd like the system to be automatic without one or two persons deciding which deck is good and which isn't.

To get old proven decks in the Deck Archive, we can simply revitalize some of them and get a new discussion going, maybe also do some improvements now that we have new cards.

We can always make changes as we go along, but for now I'd like to keep this as simple as possible so lets go with what we have now and change things later if needed.
Alright. I had assumed that we were still going with the topic creator must post in the section to get his/her deck added, in which case your tutorial wouldn't necessarily work and we would have a large load of work.

And we wouldn't be selecting "good" decks. We'd just be selecting archetypes that aren't in the archive that deserve mention. With the new method I'm not sure if that'll happen though, since most of the ones I was talking about have a nice amount of replies, but the topic was dead and the TC probably wouldn't submit it.

one last question...can someone other than the deck creator themselves nominate a deck to be archived?
i see some interesting deck ideas for example in the old anti-FG section like fire lance FG killer, heavy quintet, nymphomania and 'the condor' that is different from what you'd usually find but the deck creator is either not aware of this new feature or have gone inactive on the forum for whatever reason

maybe just as filler/buffer for now until new deck ideas emerge and kick them out from the archive (due to 20 limit rule) but just answer me this, would you rather see a lot of varieties which showcase different directions you can go or 10 of similar rainbow control-oriented decks, another 5 of slightly different build of RoL/Hope and another 5 of yet another rainbow but using different mark?

Way too much to read through to see if this has already been suggested... why not rank decks by views instead of posts? It would make more sense that stronger decks are viewed more than weaker ones.

but stupid decks will be viewd most, like Fate Egg Mutation things, as they are interesting but not necessarily good

I think those go to the "Fun Decks" section, so I'm not too worried.

2 thoughts:

1) will decks be weeded out of the list if future nerfs make the decks unworkable?

2) is it possible to make a tool that would help you select decks from an archive based on, say, 2 or 3 cards you want to include?  (E.g., all decks that have a blue nymph, an immortal and a mirror shield in them.)  This tool would be a great way to sift through the many, many decks to find the ones that have the cards you're looking to employ.  Of course, I have no idea how to do this on a forum site. ???

Deck Archives have been up for over six months now, and while some are filled to the brim with decks jostling for position, others are shamefully vacant.  The Unupgraded PvP Deck Archive for instance features only five decks, three of which the Deck Helpers added or prompted the creators to add!  I know there are more than five commonly used unupgraded PvP decks.

People, this is your opportunity to have your super awesome and interesting deck idea IMMORTALIZED.  The archive serves as a sort of front page, a summary of the community's most popular decks.  These decks often receive more feedback and recognition than those buried in the Decks forums.

If you have a deck thread with 12+ replies from other people (30+ if it's an FG deck), post it in the Archive (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,177.0.html).

Yes, I necroed this.  I am not ashamed.
