I was pretty sure that the council did a lot more than what was shown in that little thread (just hidden), as most of the council members were not only popular but decently responsible -.- I guess I was totally wrong on that point..

The changes for council sound like a nice plan, although even 12 members seem a little too large, as they take away necessary responsibility from each of the members.

In that case, you haven't been reading since SG has made it pretty clear the problem wasn't with any of the Council members. It's an issue with communication and assigning responsibility, from my observations, which is exactly what we've discussed and what's being rectified in the system.

That said, activity has a big effect too. From what I've seen, Council was more active the first two terms than the rest. I think we'll need an introduction for the new Council to get it going, because once they check out mentally, you can't jumpstart them again.

I left this open for a bit longer than I originally planned to, just so that everyone will get a chance to apply.

I received tons of applications and I now have the terrible task of reducing the number to 12, which I can already say is going to be really difficult, and I might have to throw the dice in many cases because so many applicants would be perfect for the job.

Once again, thank you all who applied for the job. Unfortunately there were only 12 spots available. If you didn't get picked, don't take it personally. I really hate having to make these kinds of choices because I know lots of people wanted to help out, and it sucks having to say "no, you cannot help". But what can you do.

When I made the choices, I tried not to just look at veteran status. Instead I chose people who have proven to work hard in the past, either on the forums or the wiki. I tried to pick people I know have initiative, because that's going to be a very important part of the work. We don't just need people to vote, we need people who push these projects forward and finish them. This is why people have have run their own projects in the past,re picked first.

I managed to pick 10 names with relative ease. After that it became really difficult because many candidates were so even in my mind. I finally used RNG to pick the last 2 from a pile of qualified candidates. My inbox is a bit of a mess, so I REALLY hope I didn't miss an application and leave someone out.



For Council Members: Please wait for about 24 hours so that I'll get everything ready. We have a lot of cool projects coming up. Simple put: things are going to become awesome around here!
