Hrm, this could be a bit biased. But as for the council I'm not a loud voice there atm. Plenty of the other members Yell over the top of me. Some councils are like that and I see it better with my skills to talk with the keys and investigate things behind the scenes and talk to the influentials where it matters and make my votes silently. I am a lurker if you will so my post count will be far less than some. If you want loud voices then I am not your man for the council and my post count will show as much.
I don't see it as biased. I think that the post count is a pretty good indicator of how much a Council Member has contributed to the project. Like I've said, it doesn't say anything about the quality of posts, but it does give some indication of overall activity and interest if one person has posted once, and the other has posted a hundred times.
If a Council Member lets others to do all the talking and planning, and only shows up to press the button when it's time to vote, I don't see that Council Member as particularly useful to be honest. Anyone can press a button, but not everyone has good ideas and suggestions. And it's these good ideas and suggestions that help the community the most.
I am of course talking generally, and not about you. I haven't actually looked at the statistics yet, so I don't know who has what post count.
I would also like to remind everyone to vote using their own criteria. If you think that the ideas and opinions of the person in question are more important than posting activity, then by all means vote using that criteria.
In other news..
The size of the Council has been changed from 12 to
18 because of huge demand. I think everyone agrees that this is a good thing, and I personally don't see any downside to it. 18 is a number we can easily manage. Plus more people = more ideas.
