Elements Council


It's time to elect the 2nd Elements Council. For those who don't know, Elements Council is a 18 member administrative organ of the Elements community. Its two main jobs are to appoint new staff members and to come up with ways to improve our community.

1. Requirements
All community members who meet the following requirements, will have a chance to become Council Member candidates:

1. Joined the forums no less than 3 months ago
2. Full Member (200+ posts)

2. How to Apply
To become a candidate, simply reply to this topic and express that you want to become a candidate. Later when we start the vote, you can explain in detail why you should be chosen. Current Council Members are allowed to apply again.

3. Community Vote
Each community member gets a number of votes depending on how many candidates we have. It will probably be something between 3 and 6.

4. Forming the Elements Council
18 Candidates with the most votes will form the Council. Council will discuss suggestions in private. All suggestions will be put on a vote. Scaredgirl will act as the 19th Council Member to break ties to if needed.

5. Future of the Council
We will choose a new Council every 3 months.

Yep, I'll go for Council again.  It was quite the experience picking and voting for whom I thought would benefit the community most, so doing it again for another three months would be fantastic.

My activity level on the forum has slumped, so I will step aside for more active members.  I do want to express that I did enjoy my time as a council member and appreciated helping "behind the scenes".

For the interest of new candidates, I will say the best part of being a council member is seeing a staff member you hired excel at their position and truly help the community.  The worst part is trying to decide who will and will not be appointed to a position when you get so many qualified applicants.  The Deck Helper appointment immediately springs to mind here.  Never the less, being a council member can be a satisfying experience.

I'll try to go for another 3 months. Even though I've been less active on the chat and in the forums recently, I've been able to check the Council forums frequently, and have been active enough there to re-apply.
