Advertising on the forums?

I don't know of any pay-per-view ad service that we can use. Please provide suggestions if you know of any.

I have finally figured out how to disable the lower corner hover ad and the in-post highlight ads. It should now be just a banner at the top. Thank you for pointing out the issue, please let me know if it is now fixed for you.

Again, thank you all for your patience while we experiment with these. Remember that this is an experiment and not yet in a permanent state. We may keep them, we may not.

I think google ads has a pay per view option, but the amount is tiny because the conversion rate is terrible.  Only makes sense for sites with like, millions of page views per day.
Also, the banner doesn't seem to be working.  It's showing me ads for advertising services and clicking any of them leads to an error page.  I have adblock+, but it's disabled on this site.

Any pay per view we can get is preferable to no pay per view, since it takes that much more off the forum bill. If you're referring to Google Adsense, though; Google took that down from our forums a year or two ago, for legal reasons they are not obligated to disclose to us. (ref. Xenocidius) I'm not sure what happened afterwards but there appears to have been a communication fudge on how forums should be funded, as all ads were eventually removed and we've now taken to donations or personal payments.

As far as I know otherwise, legit pay per view ad services are few and far between.

One (no PPV) option is referral sites like Ebates  (that is my referral link).  It's pay per conversion, but you would get $5 per person that does it.

Project wonderful ads? Their price is determined by pay per period of time, not pay per click. And they are not nearly as annoying.

Quite a niche issue - probably only affects me, and only when in in the office - and as of yet unconfirmed, but it seems since we have ads forum kicks me out more often thinking I am a bot when I am on Tor

Actually I don't have the pop-up or the highlight ads at all. Just the line on the top
