By the time you were taken away by the police (when the story ended), there were no people alive in Simon's office.

After Simon died, a person inside Simon's office could only die by a close-range attack of another human unless the killer was a natural disaster (tornado, volcanic eruption, etc.), a witch or a non-human being.

I'd also take the privilege to extend my previous move.

Very good. Even though I'll swipe both truths down with a truth I already gave to you:

This melody is pleasant. Though there are plenty other tracks which we didn't try. Maybe you'll be able to lead in those ones?

Presumably, throughout the entire lifetime of Simon's office, at least one other person other than Simon has entered the room before. Either to help furnish the room, construct the room, meet with Simon on various matters, or otherwise attend to him and his duties.

This means this red truth has a frontend validity spanning to the start of this game only.

My truth still stands assuming that all events prior to our third party locking the door occurred before the beginning of the story.

Furthermore, if this truth is valid, ALL red truths without a specified start end validity are only valid from the beginning of the story.

There are no infinite open-end intervals. Every truth that addresses time intervals before or after a specific point intends to mean the time period between the specified time and the end or the beginning of the story. The end or the beginning of the story might not be those parts that you experienced, but those that are relevant for solving the mystery. As the humans, you are given the privilege not needing to know all details to the mysteries to prove that they happened without magic, and in exchange the witch doesn't need to create a fully detailed world. The removed parts of the universe are irrelevant, you only need to focus on the game board.

What you said would indeed make the red truth look untrue* if it was applied in an expanded universe, like real life for example, but it's not the case.



Since your blue truths does not really help proving that anything was done without magic, I'm not typing anything in red, unless you want me to repeat or fix something*.

_{[*] Yeah, I totally ran into this, but from my viewpoint it shouldn't be fatal. If this minor inconsistency with how real life works really annoys you, I'm willing to rewrite all red truths to match the closed world setup. But then again, these changes are irrelevant for solving the mystery.}

All red truths refer to a limited time period between the story's end and beginning. Everything outside the story is irrelevant and is often disregarded.
- The story does not necessarily start where you - the detective - join, but it ends when you are interrogated by the police.

All relevant deaths happened when you were inside the mansion.

When talking about murder, Alfred's time in the inquisition and Simon's time in the old war do not count. To be called a killer or a murderer, the murder has to happen between the story's end and beginning.

Maybe I'll go back to something simple. >.>

The murderer entered Simon's office normally through the doorway (either it was unlocked, or they unlocked it via the use of a masterkey or masterkey copy). Before they actually ENTERED the office however, the murderer dropped the key outside the office before entering it, thus having 'no keys' on them while entering the room - this also makes it so that no keys were 'tossed' out any openings. After closing the door and murdering Simon, they exited the office without any key on them, quickly locked the door with the key dropped outside the office, and then left the scene.
