The murderer managed to steal/borrow Natalie's master key, used it to unlock the door to Stanley's room, and left the key outside. He then entered the room, killed Stanley, and left the room. Another person locked the room, and then either the murderer or the other person brought the key back to were Natalie would later find it.

Only Alfred and Simon had masterkeys. Natalie, however, was the keeper of all guestroom keys.

If any guestroom keys were stolen from Natalie without being noticed, those keys could only be used to unlock your - sir Donovan's - guestroom door and only until the keys were stealthily returned to Natalie.

The fourth red truth: Stanley's killer didn't use the masterkey to unlock Stanley's room from the outside before you found Stanley's body.

During the story, anyone who unlocked a guestroom from the outside with a relevant key then proceeded to enter said guestroom, while still holding said relevant key.

Between Stanley's death and his door being unlocked for the last time before his death, there were no more than 2 people (including him) in his guestroom at the same time.

Stanley wouldn't have left his door open after he was left alone. He needed some creative time alone to work on his next movie.
