"Drognor, take the runts from occupied Dorthonion and send them against those Elves! Kill their Prince! You Angband squad kids are with me! Our two targets are in the woods over here-"

"Lieutenant Gothmog, they're running!"

"After them!" roared the Orc band leader.

And twelve heavily-armoured Orcs charged after the feeling Saberan and Silvertongue.

The Orcs have orders to capture you alive, so they will directly target you, Bender and Purity. Your best chance of defence may be to actually join up with the Elves.

While the Orcs clash with the Army of Nargothrond, Finrod may become overwhelmed by dozens upon dozens of enemies charging him. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone to be the hero and save him.

Silvertongue looked back over his shoulder, visibly shaken. He couldn't be certain, but he knew enough about the area to be afraid of one of two things. Stampeding animals, or, more likely, orcs.

He, like many of his Elven brethren, did not like orcs. Not one bit. He chose the only appropriate action, and continued on his path to the camp of the travelers. The only thing that was certain was that this group was not orcs, meaning they were no friend to the orcs, which right now, made them Silvertongue's friends.

As he heard a rustling ahead, he grinned, in fact, they were his best friends. "We're under attack! Culas, hop into that tree, we'll be safe for now." He groaned, relaying the order again as a whistle this time. Finally, Culas lept into a tree and escaped.

Ethrandil was pondering the proposed joint Elven battle plan against Angband when he was shocked from his thoughts. He had become familiar enough with the monsters and the brutes. Orcs.

But the situation was complicated. Dozens of Orcs appeared to be directly targeting his Prince, Finrod, whom, though one of the greatest fighters in Middle-earth was in danger of being overwhelmed eventually.

Simultaeneously, he noticed two more strangers running into their camp. One had to assume that they were not friends of the Orcs, but one had to be certain.

He assumed a tone of grave urgency with his new Dwarven friend, "Someone must discover the identity and the allegieance of those strangers, but someone must protect Lord Finrod. He is the noblest of us all, and he must not die! Not here! Please help him!"

Then running as swiftly as he could, which was swift indeed, he moved to the other side of the camp and pausing before the strangers, hand already warily on the hilt of his blade, asked, perhaps slightly harshly and brusquely by Elven standards, "We have no time to spare for any formalities. Who are you?"

OOC: sorry for the wait, school started and i kinda forgot about this, so u get a few pages xD

"Nice and cool, these mountains are," Singed told Shadow, "which means we aren't the only things that wil enjoy it. Alert" Shadow immidiately became more wary. "Now, let's go see what these pretty hills have stored for us." So Singed and Shadow traveled through Ered Gorgoth, which were neither pretty nor small. Though, unbeknownst to them, they were being watched both by the eagle King Turgon had spying on them and the surviving kin of Ungoliant.

They were few, but they were powerful, since Ungoliant was always hungry and would eat anything, so they had to be to survive harsh conitions. Do to this, they were also scatterred, so there was only one to assault Singed and Shadow. "Free food wondering in my land?" The monstrous spider asked itself, "and with a decent sized pack too! I wonder what treasures it holds!" So the evil thing stalked Singed for the rest of the day, waiting t ambush him while he slept.

"So, the little goblin has already found an admirer," the scout mused to himself, "this could be an interesting battle, and the King will be rid of a pest no matter the outcome" So the scout sent a nearby eagle to relay the news to King Turgon.

"Remember Shadow, howl if anything comes near camp," Singed reminded Shadow, " and I promise I'll return the favor." For all of his appearing casual and unwary, he had noticed both of his watchers. Though he wasn't aware that it was a great eagle following him, he had assumed it was a familiar. So he went to sleep, trusting Shadow's greater senses to alert him of trouble. He wasn't asleep long when he heard the familiar howl, to others, it would sound like a wolf howling at the moon. "Good, it didn't wait until I was asleep anyway," he grumbled to himself as he got up, he didn't have to put his gear back on, since he never took it off. "Silent," he commanded Shadow, "come and get my sword in your gut, now dont skulk around the shadows. I want to get back to my beauty sleep!"

"Oh, so you are alert," the giant spider said, "oh well, now you will just die tired." The monstrosity leaped at Singed, hoping to overwhelm him, what it failed to notice was Shadow, who promptly jumped on the spiders back and gained a power grip with his jaws. "Ah! Stupid mutt, I'll eat you alive!" the spider screamed.

Singed didn't even bother telling Shadow good job, he was already on the attack, before the spider knew it, it had lost a leg. "Who did you say was going to die again?" Singed snarled at the spider as he slashed at its eyes.

"Argh!!!" I'm going to kill you both slowly!" the spider cried, "now stand still! I don't like my supper to fight back, having to kill you the hard way makes your meat tough!"

Singed laughed, "Like I survived Dagor Bragollach just to be killed by a fat spider." The spider lunged and he caught it's fangs on his shield. Then he swung his sword in an overhand cut, the spider followed the sword and went to block it with its clawed foot, but it was a feint, Singed suddenly stepped forward and stabbed the spider with his shield, scoring two modest gouges in its hide. The spider finally flung Shadow off, though he changed strategy and starting biting at its hind legs when the spider attacked Singed, retreating as soon as he got its attention. Singed hadn't even been scratched so far, "Hahaha, you haven't even scratched me, and your missing a leg!" he jeered. The spider, wounded and enraged, charged Singed. Singed, ofcourse, expected this, and dived toward the spider when it got near, completely confusing his enemy. Singed knew what he was doing though, he was now under the spider and its belly was vulnerable. So he stabbed upward with both shield and sword, scoring solid hits with both. The spider started to twitch, and Singed dived out from under the spider as it collapsed. "Good job Shadow, you've earned all that meat that I thought i might have wasted on you."

The scout watched the goblin pack up and move camp farther away from the spider's corpse. "Now that's not something you see every day, a goblin that will face a monster on its own, time to report to King Turgon," the scout muttered to itself. A few hours later, the scout finished his report to King Turgon, "Indeed that is odd, though I'm not sure if we should be thankful, a goblin that can kill one of those monsters is not something I want roaming the land," King Turgon told the eagle scout, "I heard Finrod is coming north to Angband, send a messenger to tell him he may wish to catch or kill this paticular goblin before he becomes a threat."

With the RPG proceeding at a relatively good pace, I will introduce the Quest System for this RPG, an important component of the gameplay. As the concept is still in development, any suggestions, additions or removals are welcome. In summary, the idea is as follows:

1) Characters will be presented with quests of varying difficulty.

2) For each completed quest, depending on the difficulty, they will receive a certain number of Quest Points.

3) Once a character has obtained enough QPs, they will acquire a Reward (equipment and/or money)

4) Acquiring enough QPs will also allow the character to obtain a new title (For instance, all of our characters are currently Beleriand Newcomers, though at the end, one or more of us may have performed well enough to achieve Saviour of the Free Peoples ;) )

5) Some quests may be assigned to an individual character.

First Quests
1) Protect Finrod. The Elven Prince must not fall. Difficulty: Easy. Reward: 1 QP.

2) Repel the Orcs. Difficulty: Easy. Reward: 1 QP.

Silvertongue, caught up in the excitement of the story that he had found himself in the middle of, rushed to find this 'Prince Finrod'.
"Saberan, is there anyway you can help us find this Prince? I've no clue where to begin looking," Silvertongue began his search by trying to find the tallest tent, as that was the normal tribute to royalty, drawing his whip.

Hope I getbetter control ofmy schedual soon! But ill be reading.

With my character, do as you please, Helios, eventually you have control of the dvarwes until the end of this battle, where you just off them back to their caves where they stay until my return, if thatis what you will =) Then we dont need any killing xD

Since you cannot teleport halfway across Beleriand within seconds, yes. However, when the Elves begin to hunt you, you will receive your own quests.

This is sad news, but I hope you will return soon. Your Dwarves could also stay on to fight in the Dagor Aglareb, as opposed to having to walk to their homes and make the return journey again ;)
