I happen to prefer horizontal and vertical lines, so here I go.
I didn't put much strategy in this game, to be honest, I re-worked it every time I posted a new move, so I simply had to proceed by locking the various columns:
Column 1 and 2 weren't that useful, if anything, an attempt to a vertical win in 1, but That woul have gotten stopped for sure. Due to Column 3 being locked (no one could play in the first row of that column because the other one would have put it immediately over to get the win), I didn't need Column 1 and 2, and you had no need to play there for the same reason. I was working on that win on Column 4 since a good amount of turns, but I forgot midway (lol), and provided a good lock there, too. Column 5 had only one free slot, and neither of us needed it (you could use it for a horizontal win, but by the time you got the base to do that, I'd have won, due to Column 8 (and, of course, 4) being locked. Column 9 has been snobbed since long due to those, IMHO, misplaced
. You could have attempted a win there if you had another win ready, but by playing in Column 9 and Row 4 I would have closed off any kind of possible win there.
That's a major overview of the game, not like anyone needs it (I started out with a small comment, but I went overboard and decided to make it into an overview
)
