Today was marked by a series of loud noises. Chunks of concrete fell from the ceiling.
Before today, the parts of the Pipeworks that had been crushed by the falling stone had been... well, expendable. Pipes populated by unimportant workers. Rooms containing machinery that could be easily replaced. Routes had been blocked but another path could easily be found.
Today was different.
Today, important people died.
Megalomaniacs, Sanitation, and Hunters - the base of operations of three factions, destroyed. Leaders and commanders wiped out. Fortunately, the
most important people were gathered in the Elevator, and were safe. But plenty more died.
Why?
Because, although they were well aware of how to hold off a collapse, they chose not to.
The Collapse Chance is at 99%.
Tomorrow, there will be a Total Collapse. Some analysts think it will happen after Action 3. Some say Action 4. If someone sets off a Nuclear Bomb, maybe Action 1 or 2.
