Engineers took N14, causing Megalomaniacs to lose a piece of influence-less territory at N13.

Engineers are now in control of the Main Reactor. They attempted to activate it but failed.

All of the radiation has decayed.

Megalomaniacs found a metal container on N16. It was too tough to open by hand, but a Hammer or Drill or Bomb would be able to crack it. There's no guarantee that it would contain anything, though.

Engineers found an anonymously large number of living quarters on J16. Turns out this was the site of a huge Illegal Cartel before the radiation wiped out everyone here. The Engineers ignored jewels, drugs and various other valuable paraphernalia and picked up a Nuclear Bomb, because it was the only thing they could find that's a legitimate item in the game.

Sanitation picked up a Damaged Hammer on D20.
Hunters picked up a Laser Pointer on L3.
Hunters picked up a solitary Running Shoe on K3. Its twin must be somewhere, but a one-legged scout can use this.
Hunters picked up a Blunt Drill on L5.
Wraiths picked up a can of Expanding Foam on C4.

Engineers found a Dead Engineer on N15, completely in the nude. He was holding a broken fuse, a set of blueprints, an irradiated packed lunch and a wallet containing photos of his family. The blueprints were instructions for the production of a flying construction - that is, a Drone. The Engineers found enough scrap lying around to make 2, but they didn't know what to do with any of the other possessions.

Hunters smelled a delicious smell on P25. Something is cooking nearby.

Wraiths found some Skeletal Remains on B27. The flesh seems to have completely decayed years ago - this person has been sealed in this room for a very long time. The skeleton was clutching a metal tablet with odd symbols engraved on it - a Rosetta Stone for an ancient language. The Wraiths took the useless scrap and used it to repair their Damaged Hammer into a Sledge Hammer.

ROUND 8

Engineers wrest control of the Main Reactor from the Megalomaniacs, peacefully. The Main Reactor has been activated and any factions allied to the Engineers can control the consoles.

Hunters smell something tasty, Wraiths practice archaeology and Sanitation continue their extremely boring multidirectional expansion.

Wraiths were erroneously given a Nuclear Bomb instead of a Uranium Rod on Round 5. This has been corrected.

A list of events has been added to the OP. If you don't see it yet, I'm still adding it.

Note that to approve Group Actions, you don't have to PM all of your actions. You could just say "I approve of all group actions from my faction(s) this round". It's lazy and in poor taste, but it'll do the job.

Round 8 has ended.

Sorry about N13 megas, we hadn't thought that one through, please accept our sincere apologies. Sani's, would a  sledge hammer be an ok trade in exchange for using your group action to help us get the reactor?

So apparently we can all activate processes except Hunters, shall we Engis do Lighting and Resource collecting and leave the remaining ones to other factions, up to you to decide what seems important.

The Main Reactor was erroneously activated - the group action that would have activated it failed. Currently, nobody can activate Processes. Apologies for the confusion.

OK we seem to be having some team difficulties, we will turn the reactor on during Action 1 this round so everyone can start activating processes from action 2 onwards if so desired. I think all three of us will post in here to say we've actually PMed our actions to Clean this time round. Sorry guys.

As far as megas go this round, I think we'll use our first action to take N13 again. Aside from that, no idea yet.

Engineering group action should go through this round; I've sent my actions (I forgot to do it last round due to the whirlwind of events from War and other Forum games). Sorry about that.  :-[

Megalomaniacs used a Damaged Hammer on the Locked Box in the Main Reactor. They bashed it open, and found a collection of Special Wooden Rods. On closer inspection, they were Headless Hammer Handles. The Damaged Hammer degraded to a Headless Hammer Handle, adding to the collection, much to the amusement of the host.

Engineers turned on the Main Reactor.

Engineers activated the Lighting process of the Main Reactor. The Pipeworks are now fully illuminated.
Engineers activated the Resource Collecting process of the Main Reactor. The conveyor belts bringing ore from the mines whirred into motion. You'll see their effect in a round or two.

Sanitation used their Slow-Spinning Drill to drill south from I18. It took literally forever but they did it. The drill died afterwards, though.

Hunters used Hunt & Gather from P25, picking up a Used Hammer, a can of Expanding Foam and a Crumpled Note from three unclaimed tiles, and forcibly taking a Sledge Hammer and a Running Shoe from tiles already in their territory.
The Crumpled Note, though its information was valuable, was worth Nothing by itself.

Engineers donated a Sledge Hammer to Sanitation.

Megalomaniacs found a Javelin on N12.
Engineers found a Blunt Drill on H12.
Sanitation picked up a Javelin on I21.
Wraiths found a Damaged Hammer on Y3.
Wraiths found Some Less Bricks on B25.

ROUND 9

At 13:41 AM on Day 121 of N+310, Skotid Johnson the Engineer hammered the final nail into place and, with a sense of ceremony, flicked the tiny unlabelled switch. The ground beneath Skotid's feet began to shake as ancient gears and generators spurred into life. The cacophony of whirring and pumping and hissing rose to a crescendo, and Skotid couldn't help but raise his hands to his ears to block out the noise. He glanced fearfully to his left, to the array of shaking pipes that pumped gas either up or down. They were vibrating frighteningly, hitting against each other with worrying clanging noises, but nothing was coming out of them. For the first time in weeks, the Main Reactor was online without being irradiated.

Skotid's sigh of relief was cut short, as he now had to switch on the lighting systems. He withdrew a single uranium rod from his backpack, his lead-lined underwear protecting him from the trace amounts of radiation it was emitting, and placed it into a small hole on the control panel of the reactor. He pressed a nearby switch and gears within the hole gripped the rod and began to quickly pull it down.

Skotid's hand still gripped the rod, and his arm was dragged down into the hole as well. His hand, wrist and forearm were all sucked in but his elbow was too wide. The gears that had been pulling him in stopped pulling and instead started clawing up his flesh. Skotid cried out in pain but there was nothing he could do. He tried to reach for the lighting switch, but he was in an awkward position and couldn't quite reach.

Across the Pipeworks, Hunters and Sanitation workers and Megalomaniacs and Wraiths raised their heads as the lights flickered on. Martha's corpse on V13 was completely illuminated, as the lights she had been trying to repair flickered on one by one. A small group of Hostile Survivors, previously hidden by darkness, blinked at the sudden light and readied their Drill for the next round. The Engineers smiled, knowing that their plan had come to fruition, and sent in another guy with a uranium rod to turn on Resource Collection. Nobody heard Skotid's screams.

The other guy found Skotid's body on the floor of the Main Reactor, with one arm gnawed down to the elbow. He looked like he'd bled out, and his one good arm was outstretched to the naked Dead Engineer, as if to beg for help.

Round 9 has ended.
