Rumble is a game of superhero combat, where players secretly allocate Energy points to attack and defense, attempting to outguess their opponents and knock them out of the game.
Each Hero has a number of Energy points, representing their Hero's general level of strength, alertness and psychic resolve. It starts at 100, and is lost through successful bids, successful attacks, or through the use of some Powers. When a Hero's Energy drops to zero or below, they are eliminated from the game. The last Hero standing is declared the winner.
Each player will send Wizardcat (the game's GM) two powers of their choice prior to the game's start. They can affect gameplay in just about any way its creator desires, though Wizard reserves the right to ask for a replacement if he feels a power is unreasonable (such as Powers that can only be bid on by one person [nice try, though]). Example powers can be found
here. You can use any of those, but feel free to be creative and create Powers of your own. It's more interesting that way. 'Burn' means the Energy used to fuel the Power is used up in the process and the owner will lose the Energy burnt. 'Spend' is just allocating Energy.
Once Wizard has all the Powers from all the players, he will post a list of them in the thread. Each player will then PM Wizard with their bids for these Powers. You can bid as high or low as you want, and for as few or many Powers as you want, but be warned that winning (and only winning) bids will actually deduct Energy equal to your bid from your Hero. It's not very fun to have eleven Powers but 0 Energy at the beginning of the game! A Power's winning bid is known as its Power Strength, which some Powers may use. Any ties for winning bids will have all the players that tied re-bid on the Power. Heroes may discard their own Powers at any time, but they will not regain any Energy from this.
Once the bidding is done, the Rumble begins. Rumble is divided into a number of rounds, each consisting of a Allocation Phase and a Resolution Phase. In each Allocation Phase, each player will send Wizard a PM with their Energy allocations. Heroes can allocate their Energy to Attacks against other players, Defense against Attacks, and if they possess any, Powers.
The Resolution Phase occurs when either all allocations have been received or the deadline has been hit. Any Heroes that do not have allocations sent, in case of the deadline, will Defend with half their Energy. Wizard will then reveal the actions of all Heroes and determine the results. A Hero's Defense will be used to subtract from Attacks targeting them. If their Defense is sufficient to meet the total of all the Attacks made against them, the Hero suffers no damage. If, however, it is not, the Hero will lose Energy equal to the strength of the remaining Attacks. A Hero can choose which Attacks to Defend against if forced to take damage, which can become important when Powers come into play.
After the Resolution Phase ends, the next round begins, starting with the Allocation Phase. This continues until there is a winner.
