RopesSign-upsSign up by posting in this thread. You are recommended to send a private message to
RootRanger including your item of choice. More information about items will be provided later. Sign-ups will last for 4 days. There is no limit to the amount of players that may sign up.
Object of the GameAt the start of the game, each player is placed in a separate tree. The player and item on each tree is kept secret to the other players. By connecting, crossing, and burning ropes between the trees, players can kill other players in the game. The game is won by being the last player alive.
Rounds and ActionsAt the beginning of the game, all candles are in the "Unlighted" phase and there are no ropes between trees. At the start of each round, the host will send a private message to each player. This message will include the name of the player's tree and any trees connected by rope to the player's tree. Players are also told the phase of their Candle: Unlighted, Lighted, or on Cooldown. Rounds last one day. Through private message to
RootRanger, players will send their action by the end of the round. Players may pick one of the following actions: Connect, Cross, Light, Burn, or Pass. At the end of each round, any tree uninhabited by a player is removed from the game. When the following round begins, I will provide a list of the names of the trees in the game.
ConnectTie a rope to the target tree. This will connect two trees together. When choosing this action, include the name of the tree you would like to connect.
CrossClimb across a rope connected to another tree. Include the name of the tree you would like to cross over to. By choosing this action, you will kill the player on the target tree if they chose to Light, Pass, or Burn a rope connected to a different tree. You will die if the player on the target tree chose to Burn the rope you crossed. You will enter a duel if you cross the same rope as another player or if you and a different player cross different ropes to the same tree. More information about Duels will be provided later.
LightThis may only be used on a candle in the "Unlighted" phase. Lighting a candle makes the candle be in the "Lighted" phase, enabling the "Burn" action to be used in future rounds. By choosing the Light action, you will die if someone crosses a rope to your tree.
BurnTarget a rope connected to your tree and set it on fire. Burning a rope destroys the rope. This may only be used if your candle is in the "Lighted" phase. By choosing the Burn action, you will kill a player crossing the rope you burned. You will die if a player crosses an unburned rope connected to your tree. After the Burn action is chosen, the candle will be in the "Cooldown" phase for the next round. After the "Cooldown" phase, the candle will be in the "Unlighted" phase for the following rounds unless the Light action is used again.
PassBy choosing to pass, you do not do anything. This is the default action if a player does not choose any action at all. If you pass three rounds in a row, you will be mod-killed. By choosing the Pass action, you will also die if a player crosses a rope to your tree.
DuelsPlayers will enter a Duel if they cross the same rope in the same round or cross different ropes to the same tree in the same round. If players enter a duel, the player with the higher Strength will win and survive. The losing player dies. Strength is determined by your item. In the event that two players have the same item, the winner of the Duel is decided randomly.
ItemsEach player may have only one item. During sign-ups, send a private message including your item of choice to
RootRanger. If you do not send this message, your item is chosen randomly.
Warhammer: The strongest item for Duels. Strength: 4.
Super Candle: This item allows you to burn two ropes connected to your tree, instead of just one rope, in the same round when you choose the Burn action. Strength: 3.
Winged Boots: Players with this item can safely cross ropes being Burned without dying. Strength: 2.
Radar: This item gives players information including the player on each tree, their item, and all of the ropes and the trees they are connected too. This information is sent privately at the start of each round. Strength: 1.
