This mafia was a tragedy. I didn't really have to try to win this game. Just saying you don't know who to lynch and asking if anyone has any information over and over is not going to win you the game. We did focus our kills on people likely to try and lead town, but still. Notlikethis.jpg

For the record dd, I agree that I didn't play well this game, but my vote on you and all my posts that day were completely legit from a town point of view.

Elk, the wording for Gaston is very unintuitive. Stating that the voting power starts at 0.5 is misleading when his first vote has 1 voting power.

The good news is that since I returned in Mafia 46, I lost 8 straight mafia games, but I broke the streak with this one. Now that I think about it, I'm sad that we missed the opportunity for a running joke where I always lose in mafia. I'm going to take this moment to go over the lessons I learned in each of those mafias. This is half serious and half just me complaining.
46: Don't leave qwerter alive till the end. I actually liked this one. I also didn't play that well.
47: Don't let sky host.
48: Don't have roles with ridiculous voting power.
49: Don't have a cult faction and a regular mafia faction in the same game.
50: Don't have a third party faction with the power to decide whether mafia or town wins.
51: Anonymous messages are cool.
52: Don't let sky play.
53: Don't give town THREE COPS.
54: Don't give everyone roles but leave out the investigative ones. Also don't give mafia 1.5 Nightkills and change.

Hey now, there were 4 abilities that could disable voting power, as well as another 4 that could assassinate. The civs lost that game because they let a mafia have all their information, and he proceeded to eliminate such abilities.

I can agree with that, the vote and your posts both made sense. My issue is that I don't get myself lynched unless it's going to be a net positive for my team, and in this case lynching you would have been. Unfortunately town didn't even seriously discuss lynching you.

Also cult vs mafia can work, my ruleset was just flawed. There's ways to balance it.

For the record, Root's mafia was awesome, and I think totally balanced. Town could easilly have won if I hadn't infiltrated.

There were several reasons town lost that game. That was only a losing play if exactly JCJ was Giovanni, which was very unlikely. 48 was my favorite mafia. I just personally believe that you should never be able to have a situation where one mafia can single handedly win against 5 town who know he is mafia. This didn't happen in the game, but it's not a far-fetched scenario in that setup. I agree that your mafia was pretty balanced, and that it's possible to have a cult and a mafia in the same game. Like I said, I was only half serious.
