Does it take an action to go underground, or does it happen automatically when you enter the v tile?

It happens automatically. The moment you step into a 'V' tile, you get 'transferred' to the cave or the bottom grid, and the rest of your moves are based on your new location. This applies the same way going up through a '+' tile.

Spoiler for Lore:
He brushed his hair to the side.

A man's name was Az.

He had no desire for the specific gold and silver of this island.

No, that was not was his god asked of him.

His god, asked for names.

For blood, and for life.

And soon enough, the man found himself facing a boy in armor that was clearly too heavy for him.

The man smiled.

The boy gasped.

Round 12
The round has ended. Please hold on for the following round to go up...

THE MAIN GRID:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JbIetw-GGrK1G94Rv2-evwYjO4Z9GW0_6S_0iPMRfOk/edit#gid=0

Relics used:
  • Cinderaxe (Tile F8)

Spoiler for Akebono's chest:
At the middle of a pathway, you spot an odd contraption standing upward. On the very bottom, you can easily see some sort of technological gadgetry locked inside a well-insulated glass chest. Your attempts to kick and break the glass open fail despite your best attempts, and you decide to observe the other parts of the object instead.

Looking up, you notice a digital scale encapsulated and overlaid with steel, titanium, gold, silver, silicone, and more. While the scale itself was easy to read, part of it was glitched out beyond recognition for unknown reasons. You step on it, and get the following message:

"REQUIRED LOAD: 12 (xH@)qxH)
CURRENT LOAD: 00.00%
YIELD LOAD (+200%): 01.00"

As you step off the scale, you can't help but think that the numbers are related to something else besides your weight...

Spoiler for Akebono's solution:
Didn't really write this one as well as I could have, but given the circumstances, it was alright.

Akebono's orange text basically describes three things:
  • The required amount of 'treasures' needed to open the safe: 12
    • (xH@)qxH) is an encryption to 'treasures': t = '(', r = 'x', e = 'H', a = '@', s = ')', u = 'q'.
  • The current percentage of treasures you have (out of 12, rounded up to the nearest one-hundredth of a percent due to fractional representation)
  • The amount of treasures you have that count as extra treasures due to their nature - 'Gravity' and 'Earth' based relics, specifically any relic from Akebono (Momentummoccasins), Pulverizer, Seism, Graviton, and Dark Matter.

All items and relics have a weight for 1, except for the :gravity/ :earth based relics, which have a weight of 3. Thus, when a player gets at least 12 treasures (12 items, 5 relics and 7 items, 13+ treasures, or 3 earth relics and 3 items, etc.), the moment they stand on the scale, the weight is recognized and the safe is opened permanently.
This includes the combined weight of other players stepping onto the chest area (two players, each with 6 treasures).

This is a partial homage to skyironsword's 'Portal Gun Safe' w/Companion Cube puzzle.

Spoiler for Divine Glory's chest:
Nudged between some relatively thin wall, you suddenly spot a remarkably lavish treasure chest, with a few diamonds slotted into polished gold and silver hinges. The chest cover was transparent, and you take note of (what appears to be) a highly decorated sword laying in its fabric groove within. The sword looks sharp, but even more spectacular was its slight glow, fading and brightening every few seconds in a continuous cycle. Its hilt was a simple weaving of leather straps and gold silk, with the blade itself being blanketed in various runes and symbols - a navy blue blade with golden writings. There were no holes in this chest, but you pick up a stray silk strip with writing on it, attached firmly to the base of the chest. A note!

"
I am Excalibur.
I ask of you. Are you worthy? Are you a king?
The path to monarchy is not always as straightforward...
"

Looking at the chest from behind, where the walls managed to block out the majority of the light, you note several miniature 'sword' carvings on bottom, neatly trimmed and pointed in a very specific pattern...:

Code: (Carving) [Select]
x
x x
xxx
x x
 x

Spoiler for Divine Glory's solution:
I took some time with the lore, but I had problems figuring out a good synonym for 'slot'; I was trying to describe how a sword that doesn't have a sheath usually gets put in a glass cage with a special fabric underneath it (cotton maybe?) to ensure that it doesn't scratch anything, while also not being dulled by the hard surface underneath either.

Sidenote - when sending the PM to DoubleCapitals, I substituted 'Excalibur' above for 'Avalon' by mistake. ^^;;;;

The code is pretty simple to figure out: all of the 'x's represent switches that are turned off, and players must turn them all on (into 'o's) in order for the safe to open. However, the switches -DO- turn off if you step on them again before the relic is picked up, so below, is both one way of a player traversing the switches in one go to get to the safe, while the other represents how the final code should look:

Code: (example path) [Select]
1
2 8
379 [move east after 9 to claim Excalibur]
4 6
 5

Code: (solution) [Select]
o
o o
ooo
o o
 o

Tips and General Info:
-Sera has found 2 relics, including Blitzgear (Akebono's Safe)! DoubleCapitals has obtained Excalibur (Divine Glory's Safe!).
-Linkcat has used a Soulstone to revive from falling into a 'V' trap (-20 HP), up to 30 HP.
-The walls on the bottom floor, Tiles Q34 and V40, have been opened upon the switch at Q40 being pressed.
-The bottom right corner walls of the center top floor have been raised up again thanks to Sera.
-Props to both Submachine and worldwideweb3 for destroying trees. ^^;
-ALL SWITCHES IN THE EAST WALLED ROOM SECTION OF THE MAP (W13-W17) ARE NOW PERMANENTLY TURNED ON.

NOTE: THIS PAGE IS NOT COMPLETE. LORE AND SAFES (ALONG WITH SOLUTIONS) WILL BE POSTED SOON.

Ok so if multiple people support these corrections, I think Kuro is willing to fix these things. Remember that they are separate issues.

First, Veteran has an ability called Bulldozer... it can't destroy walls or trees. As a utility class with one offensive class action, I think this ability should destroy trees you stand on and walls in the two tiles next to you.

Second, I think Cultist's poison spray ability should be rotatable (so it can attack diagonally also). This just makes the skill somewhat more usable for its extreme cost.

Spoiler for Lore:
Icronite placed his right hand on the hilt of his sword, eyeing the robed and strange man in front of him.

"Who are you?! State your name! ...ssir." Icronite stumbled a bit when it came to being authoritative, but intimidation was the better choice in this situation, as the man himself was wielding a large chain-sickle that had a considerable reach. He could out run them to the beach and lose them in the ocean... but honor told him otherwise.

"A man has no name. A man may have lied about the previous statement. Does a boy know know the truth?"

This was not good - clearly this man was deranged, and was most likely shipped away from one of the prison camps at... who knows where. Or worse, he could have escaped one of the vessels carrying him to a higher security dungeon, where all the truly sick and dangerous slept. Either way, this was no time for hesitation, but Icronite's hand was shaking. He didn't want to really fight anyway, especially someone who could have been a priest if it weren't for the fact that he hated those absurd garments they must wear.

A sound of rustling leaves in a bush behind him caught his attention. He heard a growl; Icronite quickly jolted to the southeast, and easily dodged the scythe that came swinging around toward his foot prints. Darkness was settling in as the sky turned to a deep violet.

Sprinting forward, he felt the odd switch click and heard a quick sizzle as the energy from it dissipated. But... oh no, what was that? A shadow in front of him caused him to second guess his movements; were there more enemies around? Or was that just a tree? No time for thinking; he backtracked and found himself trying to climb a somewhat tall and skinny tree, only for it to break and him to fall down towards the area he was at once before.

The sound of a blunt metal object was being unchained. Icronite swiftly unsheathed his sword and blocked the sudden object aimed at his chest. His weapon flashed with sparks and then fully illuminated as the runes on it glowed with motes of light - each mote circling towards him, but the force of the flail was far too strong. He nearly fell backward, but regained his stance, and noted two men looking at him with different smiles.

Aw dang!

The cult-looking man was giving a soft smirk in comparison to the giddy (and large) warrior to the left. "...a boy seeks death."

Icronite took a deep breath. He replied:

"No. A boy defies it."

Relics used:
  • Blitzgear (Tile W20 -> M20)

Tips and General Info:
-worldwideweb3 has obtained a relic! (Weeping Statue)
-Sera has turned from a Librarian into a Saber.
-When switching to a Librarian class from ANY class that has EN, you do not gain any 'Pages' upon the switch; this is also true if you switch from a starting class Librarian to any class that needs EN - you don't gain max EN automatically. However, Pages are conserved if you switch from Librarian -> any other class -> Librarian, and likewise, Energy recovers if you switch from Any class -> Librarian -> Any EN class. This meaning that you might be able to have full EN with a new class if you spend enough turns as a non-original Librarian, and your pages are reserved when you switch back into a Librarian from any class.
-Players can still target an invisible player with items and relics; those items and relics however won't be used up though if that player is not within range. The actions related to those targeting effects are still applied however (i.e. - AP is wasted targeting a player not within range)
-JonathanCrazyJ took 20 damage from skyironsword's crane on Tile K10!
-If you have any questions regarding what happened during the day, feel free to ask! ^^

Spoiler for Lore:
Miho took a deep breath... and exhaled again.

In the distance, she could hear grunting, yelling... a battle was commencing between blades. Of course, she was a far better expert with much more suitable artillery, although she could feel herself changing. These shrines were cursed in a sense; how many times has she run into these things, only for them to cast unknown spells towards her? Instead of hallucinations, instead, she felt her body suddenly rejuvenate, and old scars from the blast earlier seemed to have healed faster than expected.

She quickly tried to radio in her infatuat- er, comrade.
"Miho, miho you there? Please respond, I... I'm sorry. I should have been more honest with you and-"

Static spilled forth from the radio. The pitch of it was high enough to note that they were at different elevations. There was no way for either of them to communicate if one of them was deep underground...

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JbIetw-GGrK1G94Rv2-evwYjO4Z9GW0_6S_0iPMRfOk/edit#gid=0

Relics used:
  • Cinderaxe (Tile G11)
  • The Reaper's Quill (Tiles H19, J21, & I22) - all '^' traps
  • Unicorn Hooves (applied to 1011686 - removes 'Weakness', via Blade Dance)
  • Excalibur (Targeted westward; hits Solaris for 35 damage on tile U22 in the 1-3-'5'-7 column)
  • Neurotoxic Spike (target out of range [not within radius of 3]) - relic not triggered

Spoiler for Decay's Chest (processing):
After a few steps here and there, you come across a large box with a flash black textu-

...wait. The box wasn't just black. And the 'texture' was moving... those were DEVOURERS.

Recoiling back in disgust, you look at the box with a more discrete view, noticing that the thick, crystal-like walls of the container were managing to hold at bay nearly dozens, if not a hundred or so of devourers writhing and slithering inside. The sight would be fascinating if it weren't for the fact that if the chest's barrier broke, you'd be blanketed in leeches and drained of your energy... or worse.

Looking behind it, you spot a particular sign and a digital scale; the sign was written with crude black and cyan sharpie ink, in great contrast to the more sleek scale characters with black text on a white background:

"DO NOT FEED!
THIS INCLUDES ALL ORGANIC SUBSTANCES.

LOCKDOWN CODE IN PLACE.
OPEN AT YOUR OWN RISK.
ASK FOR A GUARD FOR EARLY RELEASE."

70 Detected
Risk: LETHAL

You try your best to not dry heave from the muffled noise of some of the leeches gasping and hissing through the box. This feels like a trap...

Spoiler for Decay's solution:
The lore was supposed to be a little bit of a forewarning towards those who didn't want to risk getting killed. >_>

As one of the few Safes with a 'Trap' mechanic, any player can theoretically open this ignoring the riddle, but will receive consequences if they don't heed the warning. By 'DO NOT FEED', players should absolutely avoid opening the relic while they have more than 0 EN (or 0 pages, as stated by 'ALL ORGANIC SUBSTANCES'), in reference to Decay's nature of absorbing the quanta of its enemies in order to supplement their abilities. To open the Safe, all you need to do is use the basic action, 'Guard', to pick up the relic (assuming no one else is on your tile).

If you open it while having more than 0 EN/Pages however, you not only lose all of your associated EN/Pages, but you also take damage equal to the amount of Energy you have (or 5 times the amount of damage per page you have), which can be pretty devastating if you die; a player can easily pick up the relic and any other treasures that you drop if you succumb to the trap's effects.

Thus, in order to gain the best ending possible, have exactly 0 EN/Pages while on this tile using the 'Guard' action.

Spoiler for Osiris' Chest (processing):
Scouting the immediate area, you see a small section of sand replacing the soil on the island, with a smaller obelisk-looking structure embedded in the ground. Getting closer, you can see one side of the obelisk containing six stone concentric wheels that could rotate if you applied enough torque and pressure. The wheels themselves had been decorated with several symbols, each separated into their only little slot, with the smaller wheels having smaller sized symbols, and so on. The largest wheel, for example, held the following in a ring:

6 2 ` 3 7 1 8 = 0 4 - 5 9

The top wheel also had a small mark at the side of it, as if the wheels were being read left-to-right towards the center...:

> __ __ __ __ __ __

On the opposite side, a square tablet with the following "numbers" and symbols was built into the stone slab [instead of detailing the symbols down, you instead note what each symbol is supposed to represent]:

"
`: TREE
1: EYE
2: GOD
3: ANKH
4: SNAKE
5: HAND
6: CROSS
7: INSECT
8: RABBIT
9: OWL
0: MOUTH
-: WATER
=: PYRAMID

I am a god of time, at the end of it all.
If you are a follower,
show me what my directions are,
with my name.
"

You look at the structure in complete exasperation. What could it possibly want?

[NOTE: You must end your turn on this tile in order to gain a chance to open it. You must set the six wheels to the symbols mentioned above.]

Spoiler for Osiris' solution:
Probably the hardest Safe to understand without a Librarian (in regards to cracking the code).

Like Morte, players need to send a PM while on the Safe tile in order to open it and gain access to the relic, although they get one shot each round to figure out the password. If you look at the BBCode, the symbols are actually numbers (and a few keyboard symbols/punctuation related to the top row of the number line), but out of order. To spell it out:
` means `
1 means 1
2 means 2
3 means 3
4 means 4
5 means 5
6 means 6
7 means 7
8  means 8
9 means 9
0 means 0
- means -
= means =

With that out of the way, we take a look at what each 'number' is supposed to represent. For example: the 1 symbol is directly related to the word "EYE", and so forth.

We then also look at the remaining piece of text. Excusing the host's poor 'encryption', the last line is probably the most noted: with my name implies Osiris' name is somehow related to puzzle piece, and if you look at the beginning, there are six slots that require webding symbols to be placed into a specific order.

Thus, the solution is to spell out his name. And we do that by using the reference of the each word's "starting letter". So OWL, for example, is the "O" that starts off his name, so we then back up to the number that represents it: 9. Then we type that in webdings font, 9. We then continue this until we spell out his full name, to get the following solution.

9 4 7 8 7 4

Coincidentally, two things are also shown: the symbols associated with the letters are all animals (the less unimportant detail). The other being that the symbols are essentially the same symbols you'd see on devices and software to affect the time of a video, standing for 'Reset, Play, Rewind, and Fastfoward'; a representation for how Osiris conveniently manipulates time using Precognition and Reverse Time.

Tips and General Info:
-worldwideweb3 and Solaris have each unlocked and obtained a Safe relic, and dawn to dusk has received a relic.
-Solaris has lost 15 EN & 15 HP after triggering Decay's trap!
-Using 'Recover' restores 15 EN. This is especially useful for times where you may want to utilize some of your defensive abilities, or ensure that your next set of attacking actions can be done in quick succession.
-The Relic on H24 is contested between two different parties. It has not been picked up yet.
-In regards to the above, the first player(s) to move off of a relic tile (regardless of whether or not they're on the same team) gives the other player the relic. This includes relics that are normally protected by switches, or if a player swaps positions with another player due to teleportation.
-When an item or relic says 'connected', it means that all tiles must be connected through at least one tile horizontally, diagonally, or vertically on the same floor.
-Chest solutions now added.

Spoiler for Lore:
Lodin blinked to get the bits of dust off of his eyelashes.

As the chest laid open with a coin spinning on its edge without respect to the laws of physics, Lodin and his... 'friend', had managed to remove a young soldier from the battlefield. Such a shame - his attacks were impressive and managed to keep him alive until it was pitch black. The shadows were no longer distinct from the darkness, but Lodin kept a careful distance and eye on his partner.

"Whelp, that's it. Mind if I tayke it?

He could see the other man tilt his head towards him.

"It does not matter. The many-faced god has already received one gift."

Lodin shook his head and twisted his lips; he figured his facial expression couldn't be read by Az anyway.

"Uh, aite then."

He plucked the coin from the chest, and looked once more at the body; the small specks of star light reflected off of his polished armor, alongside the more subtle shades of blood that stained the metal.

Relics used:
  • N/A

Tips and General Info:
-worldwideweb3 has picked up a Relic!
-Many relics have now been refreshed; some, even through the use of Jolt-based items. Check the relics-tab in order to see which relics are available for use again!
-Vineroz has died. 1011686 dealt the killing blow.
-Always take a look at statuses for not only AP boosts, but also damage boosts: Rally Cry, the Barbarian's passive, and Rage Powder in particular are incredibly devastating in conjunction with certain attacks, and can create some unique strategies in regards to planning an assault.
-Several players have picked up high tier items from shrines and/or exploring the underground. I assure you, that both are part of the game's mechanics.
-The round has been extended due to a few sets of moves not being considered/minor status updates. One main example being that JonathanCrazyJ had actually used Craft Item during the last round, but I thought he had instead used an item that didn't exist. Deepest apologies again folks.
