Nobody died.

The final three combatants stand battered, bruised, and broken. The grand maelstroms of the early part of the battle have devolved into a few mangled souls clinging to every breath as they hurl the last vestiges of their quanta at their opponents, in an effort to finally claim victory over this godforsaken slaughter. Each attempt to recover only invites the others to strike. Each attack only brings the caster closer to oblivion. Each second only brings more agony than the last. Each fallen corpse only adds to the death that is all they are aware of. Two will escape it. One will be consumed by it.
