    A figure descends from the sky, wearing a silly circular hat with shiny sharp points. And is that a stick in its hand? Oh. Look! It appears to be making gestures! How boring. It can't even use normal methods of communication. It is clear that this strange new elemental will be useless in your dispute. Just another inferior.

    "BEHOLD! HIS SUPREME MAJESTY, OVERLORD OF EXISTENCE, GRAND ADMINISTRATOR OF..."

    Typical. So it learned how to speak, and first contact with this newcomer of unknown origin shows quite clearly that it's another one of those megalomaniac types. Whatever. You can deal with it later. Or maybe...


    "HIGH ARBITRATOR OF THE FRONTIER, MASTER OF ALL ELEVEN..."

    Maybe you can get some minions to do it for you instead. You turn to your neighboring elementals. "Can we get rid of this guy already? He's getting on my nerves."

    "A VERY HIGHLY DANGEROUS TASK OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE. YOU..."

    The elemental on your left turns to you. "Agreed! So even elementals of your pathetic kind can recognize inferiority when you see it."

    "BUT THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE. THEREFORE..."

    Pathetic? Pathetic!? You'll show that dirty no-good conniving careless cowardly cur...

    "IN TRIAL BY COMBAT..."

    You throw a punch.

    "YOUR FATES REST UPON ONE CHAMPION. CHOOSE WISELY."

    The forum descends into chaos.


    RULES:

    Objective: Be the last one standing!

    Every player has 12 pools of quanta, just like in the game. For each of the twelve elements, players start with 2 quanta in each pool, plus an additional one quantum of their choosing (if they don't choose, it'll be randomized) - this will total to exactly 25 quanta among all of their pools. Throughout the game, players must use their skills and wits to outsmart and attack other players to remove each other from the game.

    If a player has 0 or less total quanta after an action, they die (implode) and are removed.
    If a player has more than 50 quanta (their maximum) after an action, they also die (explode) and are removed.


    Individual quanta pools can go below 0, but only by having it removed from an ability, NOT by spending quanta. Negatives affect the total quanta.

    Each player has 4 actions they can do each round. Every ability is considered an action, and requires a certain amount of quanta.

    Calculations of a player's death/status occur after each action.


    Actions are broken into two sets: Basic and Elemental.
    • There are four basic actions. Basic actions can be used at any time and do not require a particular type of quanta.
    • Elemental actions are separated by element and have three types: Simple, Moderate, Complex
      • Simple Elemental Actions cost 3 quanta of an element.
      • Moderate Elemental Actions cost 5 quanta of an element.
      • Complex Elemental Actions cost 7 quanta of an element.
    • All actions are broken into two phases: Spending, and Implementation.
      • First, during an 'action' turn, all actions have their quanta spent, based on the action used.
        • Spending quanta cannot cause a quanta pool to drop below 0. If it does, the ability cannot be performed and is turned into 'Wait'.
      • Then, the effects of that action take place.
        • Effects from an action can affect a player's quanta, action usage, or anything else. It can also drop a quanta pool below 0, and further into the negatives as necessary.
      • Spent quanta can be refunded depending on what actions occur, as well as if an action was 'transformed' due to the effects of another action (i.e. - an action turns into 'Wait', via Halt, etc.)

    Each element has one ability from Quantafied 1, one ability from Quantafied 2, and one brand new ability.

    Rounds last for approximately 48 hours. After each action, all players that died by having 0 or less total quanta, or more than 50 total quanta, are removed. Once all four actions are over, a new round starts up and this repeats until one player remains.

    The winner receives 5 Master of Games points, followed by an additional 3 for second place, and 2 for third place.

    NORMAL ACTIONS (you must choose what quanta type to spend for these actions):

    3 :chroma - Block: Use 3 quanta of a single element (choose only one element to spend from); ignore any changes made by others to all of your quanta pools, and refund the quanta cost if you successfully block an effect [works against many actions]. Works on that action only, not the entire round.
    1 :chroma - Conjure: Spend 1 quanta of an element; create 3 quanta in any pool (for yourself or other players). You may target the same element even if you target yourself.
    1 :chroma - Destroy: Spend 1 quanta of an element; remove 3 quanta in any  pool (for yourself or other players). You may target the same element even if you target yourself.
    0 :chroma - Wait: Do nothing. Requires no quanta. This action is the default action, and counts as a Normal action when doing calculations. Actions that fail due to being incorrect or because the player lacks the necessary quanta to spend, are turned into 'Wait'. Actions that spend quanta, but are blocked or reflected or refunded, do not become 'Wait'.




    ELEMENTAL ACTIONS:

    Entropy
    3 :entropy: Mutation Field - Any ability that targets you for the following two actions has it's effect changed to a random ability from another element with the same cost that can affect you. Any parameters that can't be carried over will be randomized. Conjure and Destroy mutate into each other.
    5 :entropy: Anomaly - Target a player and an element. If the number is even, divide it in half. If it's a non-prime odd number, set it to 1. If it's a prime number, multiply it by three. Can affect negative numbers.
    7 :entropy: Diffuse - Target a player and an element. All quanta of that element is randomly distributed between the other 11 elements.


    Death
    3 :death: Poison - Target up to 3 elements of a target player. They can't gain quanta of any of those elements for the following 3 actions.
    5 :death: Sludge - Target player's maximum quanta total is decreased by X, where X = the amount of quanta they spent during the current action. If the player uses 'Block', Sludge has no effect. Cannot target self.
    7 :death: Curse - Upon use, the maximum amount of quanta (originally 50) that any player can have total in all of their combined pools will decrease by 5, except you. This Curse stacks with other Curses by both you and other players, until any player dies by going over the maximum; maximum quanta reduction due to Curse will then disappear.


    Gravity
    3 :gravity: Attract - Name a basic action and an element; gain three quanta of the element you selected per person who used that basic action on the turn you used this. Gain 1 quanta of that element if it's used on any other turn of that round (including if that action was used by you).
    5 :gravity: Binary System - Target two players. Any targeting actions they use will be redirected to the other player.
    7 :gravity: Funnel - Target two players, a 'victim' and a 'host'; remove up to 1 quanta from all of the 'victim's' elemental pools, and give it to the host. Pools affected by this ability cannot go in the negative. May target self. Cannot target the same player twice for this.


    Earth
    3 :earth: Fortify - Raise a stone wall. You can use this wall alongside another action to give you the effect of Block. You can only hold one stone wall at a time, but you can make another one on the same action you use the first one.
    5 :earth: Rumble - Choose a player's elemental pool and cut that quantity in half (this can affect negative quanta); prevent them from using actions requiring quanta from that element for that action and the next. Can target self.
    7 :earth: Cement - Name any player's elemental pool; that element's quanta cannot be used or changed (cannot gain or lose quanta) until that player uses 'Block' three times in a row for their following actions, or until Dispelled. If a player has five of their elements affected by "Cement", they automatically die. This ability can bypass Block.


    Life
    3 :life: Sprout: Select three elements; each of those elements generate one quanta per action you take until you spend quanta from one of those pools (as in, if you spend quanta from ANY of those 3 elements, the effect is completely canceled at that moment you spend the quanta). Can target the life element.
    5 :life: Ferocity - Your next 'Conjure' or 'Destroy' will have triple the effect. (i.e. - Conjure/Destroy will create/remove 9 quanta instead of 3 from a target). Your 'Block' action will also only cost 1 quanta while Ferocity is up. Ferocity is a buff that is removed upon using either Conjure or Destroy, or upon being targeted by Dispel. Ferocity cannot stack, but lasts indefinitely until removal.
    7 :life: Reincarnate - If you die on this action, you are reborn to your state at the beginning of the game.

    Fire
    3 :fire: Ignite - Instantly generate 5 + 3*X quanta for a player (or yourself) for an element of your choosing. X is the number of players that targeted you during this action. If this effect puts you or the target over your maximum quanta total, Ignite will instead not generate any quanta (it just *poofs*/fails).
    5 :fire: Enrage - Instantly generate X quanta of the element opposite (i.e. - Fire/Water, Aether/Time, etc.) of the one with the most quanta. If there are multiple elements with the same top amounts, you will generate quanta for all of them. X is equal to the amount of quanta for your top elemental pool.
    7 :fire: Firestorm - Target a player and an element, destroy 13 quanta of that element. Consume all of your remaining :fire quanta.


    Water
    3 :water: Icicle - Target a player and an element, destroy three quanta of that element from the target. They cannot use any complex actions for the following two actions.
    5 :water: Submerge - You and a target player gain 5 quanta in an elemental pool of your choice. If they used Conjure the same turn as you used this, double the amount gained for both you and the target.
    7 :water: Blizzard - All players (except you) lose X quanta from their element that has the highest total; if there is a tie between elements, Blizzard removes from multiple elements of the player then. X is the number of elemental abilities used the previous action, but cannot be less than 5. This effect does not count as targeting.


    Light
    3 :light: Illuminate - Give X of your quanta of an element to another player of your choice. X can be any number greater than 0, but you cannot give more quanta of an element than you have (if you attempt to do so, you give out whatever quanta you have if possible). Refunds 3 Light quanta if successful.
    5 :light: Restore - Target a negative quanta pool of any player, that pool is returned to 0.
    7 :light: Dispel - Dispels all effects from a target player, and turns their current action into 'Wait' if possible. You generate 2 :light for every good or bad effect removed from the target. Using this on a target without any buffs or effects instead increases your maximum quanta total by 5.


    Air
    3 :air: Echo - Select an element besides Air, and target any player; whenever you use Conjure for this round, you also generate three quanta for that element of that player as well. Can target self.
    5 :air: Tempest - Remove (not destroy) 12 quanta from 3 different players of a specific element (you may target yourself). You may choose how to spread the quanta removal (7 on the first player, 3 on the 2nd, 2 on the last, etc.) If there are less than 3 targets to choose from, remove the quanta between two (or one) remaining target(s).
    7 :air: Dive - Avoid any effect that would destroy your quanta this action, except Blizzard. The next time you destroy/remove another player's/players' quanta, you destroy/remove twice as much.


    Time
    3 :time: Halt - Target a player and transform one of their following four actions into 'Wait'.
    5 :time: Warp - Pay quanta for an additional ability during this action. The effect will resolve on a different action of your choice during this turn or the next turn. If you create a paradox, you die.
    7 :time: Advance - Brings upon the 'Advance' aura, which decreases everyone's maximum quanta total by 5 at the very end of every round (once all actions are spent, processed, and implemented), including your own. Once a player is killed via depletion (going below 0, not above the maximum) however, the Advance aura is cancelled, and all maximum quanta reduction due to Advance will disappear.


    Darkness
    3 :darkness: Cloak - Your actions and the number of quanta in your individual pools are hidden during the next round. Your total quanta is still visible.
    5 :darkness: Exsanguinate - Name a player and an element; until that player targets you with 'Conjure', any quanta they generate from the specified element is instead redirected towards you. Can be used repeatedly on the same target and on multiple players.
    7 :darkness: Hide - You can only be affected by basic actions during your following three actions, but they themselves can only be basic actions as well. Carries over to the next round if necessary. This status does not allow you to bypass 'Reflect' statuses.


    Aether
    3 :aether: Jolt - Destroys 5 quanta from a target player's element pool; if that player was using either 'Conjure' or 'Destroy', turn it into a 'Wait' action, and refund the :aether cost.
    5 :aether: Duplicate - Target a quanta pool of another player. Your quanta pool of that element becomes equal to theirs.
    7 :aether: Reflect - All actions used against you are reflected against the owner instead (Reflect status). If two or more players targeted you while Mirror is up, spend two additional Aether quanta per additional player that targeted you after the first.

The abilities in this game were made by taking the best and most interesting abilities from the first two editions, with new abilities created by me to fill in the gaps.     I think Air's 5 :air ability Tempest should not read 'quanta destruction as it specifically mentioned that the ability prompted a removal and not a destruction. Using the word 'removal' might be more appropriate.

    A paradox is created when an action that you warped back to the past results in you being unable to use the Warp that sent the action, resulting in the action not being sent, resulting in Warp resolving again, etc.

    A player paired with two or more different players by Binary System will have their action fizzle.

    I think Air's 5 :air ability Tempest should not read 'quanta destruction as it specifically mentioned that the ability prompted a removal and not a destruction. Using the word 'removal' might be more appropriate.
