I would like to suggest that if this tornament ever goes on again, you should change the matchups every round so that some people don't just get a load of free points out of people who forget about the event. At the moment this game is even more skill-less than it should be.
That would defeat the entire purpose of the game. The idea is to punish your opponent for betraying you and working together. It doesn't work if you swap every round.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

My idea of the game seems to differ from yours... I guess it's your game, but I think it's unfair to reward people handsomely for getting people who are inactive through luck.

I would have the game as more of a "every round PM your opponent and come up with a deal" Try to get them not to betray by saying you both get more points if you don't betray. I thought this was a strategy game. I see now that it's just luck.

Google 'Prisoner's Dilemma'. Of course it's a strategy game. Contacting your opponent is certainly allowed, in any case.

As for people getting inactive opponents ... not much I can do about that without destroying the idea of the game. At least those inactive people get eliminated quickly.

Eh, there might be a little strategy, but its mostly about how your opponent acts.

So, since my opponent doesn't like to listen to me, is there any way to auto-betray every round? Or do I have to manually send a PM every single time? Because that would get boring after a while.
Somehow still around, somewhat

Round 2 has ended! Players who betrayed are in red.

1. Rutarete, RootRanger
2. Fluffy Ninja, calindu221
3. Legit, PlayerOa
4. Jocko, Malignant

Scores are as follows:

PlayerScore
calindu2218
Legit6
Jocko4
Malignant4
Fluffy Ninja3
RootRanger2
Rutarete2
PlayerOa1
I'll also be adding some commentary each round starting now to enhance the game.

Rutarete and RootRanger have betrayed each other again; they may have to cooperate some more if they want to stay in the game! Legit, who has so far betrayed every round with no resistance, was no doubt quite surprised at his opponent's sudden rebuttal. Calindu221 has decided to stir things up a bit, and Jocko and Malignant have unexpectedly cooperated.

You have 2 days in which you can either PM me or stay silent.

Match 2: Round 3

Round has ended!

Round 3 has ended! Players who betrayed are in red.

1. Rutarete, RootRanger
2. Fluffy Ninja, calindu221
3. Legit, PlayerOa
4. Jocko, Malignant

Scores are as follows:

PlayerScore
calindu22111
Malignant9
Legit7
RootRanger7
Fluffy Ninja6
Jocko4
PlayerOa2
Rutarete2
Looks like Rutarete wants to form an alliance, but RootRanger won't have that. Calindu221 has gone back to peacemaking, with Fluffy Ninja happily cooperating. Legit has predictably betrayed yet again and is starting to be punished for it; he and his partner are not going to last very long if they keep this up. Malignant has gone malignant, casually tossing aside Jocko's trust and brutally betraying him.

Round 4 has ended! Players who betrayed are in red.

1. Rutarete, RootRanger
2. Fluffy Ninja, calindu221
3. Legit, PlayerOa

Scores are as follows:

Malignant10
Fluffy Ninja9
RootRanger8
Jocko5
Rutarete3
PlayerOa2
With RootRanger having rejected Rutarete's alliance they are now once again at war with each other. Fluffy Ninja and calindu221 are continuing their fluffy little peace treaty. Legit may be unwilling to let PlayerOa progress, but he's being dragged down as well. Jocko isn't happy about Malignant's previous betrayal, but Malignant continues to be malignant.

It seems the last round just got hit by Parallel Universe; exactly the same results this round. Funnily enough, Fluffy Ninja and calindu221 are quite high on the scoreboard, having cooperated quite a lot. And yet those other evil people continue to betray. The mind game aspect of it is really coming out.
