1.) the story is a bit backwards in my head how I read it. It talks about a person who created the shadow master syndicate and that same person betraying many people. Which is wrong, cause CCC created the syndicate. The story behind how he did that, to create such a large alliance ~half the people, was that he thought himself to have no friends. So he asked people to be in their alliance, they all accepted (really people? ... at least be a bit more picky picking allies... not being picky enough is what got my group killed after all.) After the all accepted he created a titanpad and allowed members from alliances to be anonymous, and all the alliances could talk to eachother there. The last part you probably all knew. He was willing to tell this info to any one though, they just had to ask. My first night joining the pad I spent about 2 hours just questioning CCComboBreaker. CCComboBreaker plays his game a lot like mine, but more conservative. Hes practically always honest, except in telling you how much current influence he has on people. Heck, when the shadow master syndicate disbanded, I talked to him and pretended to get him in my alliance, even though I knew he had alliance and roughly knew who was in it and how many. The only person I didnt account for was www. I didnt have enough time to collect the powers of those people, so I played a numbers game and figured 8v5 would win. Instead it was 7v6 and they had a OP xdude. (thanks ian... for your time schedule not matching mine.)
2.)
An unexpected end. Well played all.
Surprised that CCCombobreaker survived as long as he did - was guessing that when the SMS dissolved, he'd quickly be taken out by whichever fragments weren't him.
Nahhhh. In my excessive questioning of him, once you learn how he systematically bridged together alliances, you'd realize that people would be begging him to be in their alliance so he can combine alliances. Most real alliances are 2 or 3 people, knowing this 2 or 3 people wont hold the power in Grandmaster when 13 people disband, thus those groups will have to join together and the best person for the job, as he proved with the shadow lounge titanpad, is CCComboBreaker. Thus, most of the alliances are gonna go to CCComboBreaker so they can become 2-3 alliances forming 1 alliance of 6-8 people so they hold the power out of 13 people. Having my role, mesaprotector, would have been super helpful to him because then he could check to see everyone elses powers so he doesnt have to get excess people, cause the more people the more likely for one to betray you, as WWW proved in betraying my alliance.
3.)
Congrats www3.
I absolutely loved this game, even if there are some glaring issues that would need addressed if this were ever played again. I'm glad for everyone who I spoke to, the Shadow Masters made by CCCombo added flavor and fun, CR and qwerter for our tireless work in alliance that I'm sure would have prevailed if we hadn't chosen the wrong allies. Ultimately, I relied to much on ARTH being my forum buddy, and let him pull in someone I didn't know who destroyed my group.
Still don't know why you kept hitting me with poison Combo, but at least it helped me for my deathscene ^_^
He kept hitting you with poison so that when it came down to you, www, and ccombobreaker, you'd have nearly no influence on the voting so even if cccombobreaker miraculously died that round, it would come down to you and WWW. With you so low in pwr, WWW then could steam roll you. It was his promise to practically win the game for WWW. Also, if he already knew he could get the game down between you him and www, and he promised not to hit www, who else is their to target with his ability?
I didnt understand it for a while cause I didnt go around and talk to people after dying (that'd ruin the integrity of the game) until it came down to the final 3. I was thinking he should keep hitting ian because he was xdude, cccombobreaker had to know that, but idk when he learned it. During the shadow syndicate probably. Hitting xdude would pretty much be lowering his power by 800 rather then 400 and wouldnt have made ian such a brute force in the end game. I feel like ian could have won that with his massive power if he teamed up with nae and arth then just didnt get tricked in the final three between them to vote for nae.
4.) @IAN... You could have won if you followed one of these 2 things because you had such massive power: 1.) you joined Arth and Nae towards the end game and saved nae for last. 2.) No voted whenever they were planning on targeting nae (but for you to realize that youd have to know naes role... you should have really tried to find out who was Xinef if you didnt know) When they told you to vote off nae, you knew nae kept getting poisoned right since she spoke that publicly? Then probably everyone else without you would have enough power to kill nae. And you knew kirch was still in the game, so even if it wasnt enough power to kill off nae, then at least you'd be probably safe. With high power comes high responsibility.
GG though. CCComboBreaker, great job man. The winner to me is not the one with the medal. But the one who, if possible, can choose who the medal is given to. If impossible, then the guy with the medal around his neck. Congratz to WWW though as well. He correctly chose his allies and thats 50% of the battle.
Id like to collect a statistic that I think will further everyone's games in the future if this forum game becomes a repetitive one. What did everyone bid? Include all bids, not just the master you got. But please in some manner, bold text, color text, whatever; label the master you got.
In this order I bid on 10 men for 700 and
Mesaprotector for 700.
