Meteors have constantly rained upon the Meadow of Stars; grassy fields were replaced by hollow craters of dirt and ash for those who crossed that territory. One False God had watched that field grow and morph overtime with the constant collision of rocks. Each hole acting as nothing more than a small footprint of his power.
...and within a moment's glance, so did Akebono become one of those falling stars; a comet that soon fell swiftly into the elemental plane, leaving nothing more than a mark of his own defeat. His crash shook the very realm itself; everyone and everything could feel the vibration of his body becoming broken by an unexpected curse. Except the Usurper of course, who played with the succulent soul of the crushed acolyte that Akebono assisted in killing.
A few acolytes came across an elderly sage during their travels... the realm had gotten completely silent. Few acolytes remained, and some even came across another corpse of their own. The elderly sage however asked those who were tired to listen to her story, and spoke with a quivering voice before leaving the acolytes alone:
"There once was a story of the tailed beast and the legless one."
"In the mighty kingdom of critters, one particular species had reigned all of them; the tailed beasts. Because of their potent blood that would kill those that betrayed them, the other critters had dared not to cross them, and thus held them as the king of the crittters. Their tails were of both mercy and vengeance, crippling those that came to close. The Tailed Brothers were noted for their superiority over this kingdom, and became a trio of terror throughout the nights that came."
"But the legless one, the Glutton, chose to defy them anyway."
"Unlike the other critters, the Glutton's greed felt that his powers were not to be ignored; that he was the ruler of the shadows and that he should not bow to such pretentious beasts, whose corrupt powers were a disguise for their weakness during the day. His hunger overcame him one night when he supposedly sucked and consumed the very life of one of the trio's brothers, angering them all to the point of war."
"It was then and there that the two remaining Tailed Brothers and the Glutton had grown equally tired and called a truce when neither could defeat the other. The Tailed Brothers, in light of their 'draw', decided to sacrifice their throne and let the entire kingdom fall into each specimen's hands; a peaceful anarchy, if you would call it that."
"But a truth emerged; if the Glutton had brothers of his own, the Tailed Brothers would be unable to defend against them all..."
"...perhaps that is why leeches are only a slight nuisance by themselves, but lethal when grouped together..."
