@korugar: Forgot to reply to you before. 'scent' is not a skill, therefore you cannot make a skill check with it. 'scent' is an ability, it's always active and provides a bonus to search checks based off smell, and survival checks made to track.
He got the best possible roll, a 20. His opponent got a 2. I think it matters.
