He gives you the weapon and key without any hesitation.

[nitpick] nat 20 only matters for saves and rolls, not checks [/nitpick]

@korugar: Forgot to reply to you before. 'scent' is not a skill, therefore you cannot make a skill check with it. 'scent' is an ability, it's always active and provides a bonus to search checks based off smell, and survival checks made to track.
