By the way, Korugar is the last person I'm going to let in, we'll get started tonight if possible.
EDIT: Found his profile. Let's go.
Also: There were two votes for the hex map, and two votes for the ASCII map, so we'll be using the ASCII one if it's no problem.
There is an inn, way on the far shores of the great lake, that overlooks a small valley in the uninhabited mountains. And, on a clear night, if you look between these mountains, you can see the faint pink glow of the sea of radioactive fluid that surrounds the land. It douses the beachside inn with a romantic, pink, light.
In fact, this inn is mainly a place where teenagers go during the summer months, to party and get drunk and make mistakes and never look back. But it is not the summer months, it is the winter.
There are great wars going on, but they are all on hold for the winter. As the sky grows cold and the snow dampens the ground, making everything quieter, calmer. Darker.
It is here, in this inn, where you all are, quietly drinking or inquiring about a room, when the adventure starts. There is a small shop in back, selling "adventurers supplies", and you can hear the raucous sounds of somewhat organized fighting from the basement, where gambling is clearly going on. It is on this night the thing you called a "normal life" ended.
But until the events of our tale unfold, we must wait until morning. Until then, the night is yours.
