If the bear can probably kill me with one hit:

I ain't gonna attack again, cuz I don't wanna die. What if the bear slaps me again and does like 8 damage?

I'm gonna search for some supplies, potions, throwable weapons, etc. Things that'll help me stay alive.

I try to attack it again, but this time being EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS.

Ho boy, that caution payed off..

Bloodshadow Crits.  10 damage done to the bear, 5 health returned to him.  The DPT kills the bear.

As the beast lay slain, the remaining survivors glanced around the wasteland.  A man, a lone man, had destroyed this place even when his opposition was prepared.  Searching the wreckage, Helios finds a strange emblem of darkness in the shop on the ground.  And, in the back of the shop, there is a note.

Dear heroes,
You are the only ones left now, in this town.  You are the only ones left in the world who can defeat me.  But it would be no fun if I were to kill you now.  No... I'm going to let you gather your strength.  Get your hopes up, allow you to think that you will live and walk the earth another day.  And then I will snatch that hope from you.  And you will be left to wander a world of emptiness.  For it is only fair those who kicked me down in the dirt feel this stink of the earth in their eyes.

And, as Helios goes back outside, an arrow appears on the side of the building out of arrow.  An arrow from the time bow.  There is a note, written in blood that has been clearly stained by aflatoxin.

Just so you guys know, this section of the game (the plot revelation in DM terms) I had named simply "Yonkers" in my notes.  Tee hee!

Salestor looked up. He found his hammer laying on the ground, but his throwing knife was nowhere to be seen. Picking up the hammer, he noticed the note out of the corner of his eye. "Get to the Oracle..." he murmured. He turned around and spoke. "If this guy is as dangerous as he says, then we must band together to defeat him. Then, he looked at Helios. "Might I see that first note, good sir?"

"I think that was one of our allies, before that....man turned him into this thing." Korugar comes closer to examine the bear as well. "Do you guys know anything about an Oracle?"

[Glitch]

You don't know about it.  Helios does.

"anyone know what the oracle is." Aira asked. "I do." the time princess said coming out of her hiding area. "Ah, there you are princess. We were wondering if you had departed before giving us our electrum." Salestor said. "No royalty would never do such a thing like that." She said "Anyway, the oracle is..."

That's really out of character for Salestor. He's supposed to be thoughtful, calm, and old-timey. And he definitely doesn't misspell words like "and"
