Dorfl glanced at Mordekai, who made no reaction. Then, he looked back at Amal. "I will recruit, but not before I help out Mordekai with what he has to do."
Mordekai smiled. "Thank you, Dorfl. Now, if you don't mind, I will be leaving. I must start immediately. But you can be sure that I will be back, ready to sign up for your armies."
Mordekai saluted to Isaac, Amal, Cloud, and the three nobles in turn. Then, he strode out the door, Dorfl next to him. Amal ran behind them, holding a bag of quanta.
"I believe you forgot this," said Amal.
"Thanks," says Mordekai. "I'll be back!" He put the bag of quanta underneath his armor. "Whenever you need any, just ask me," he told Dorfl as they stepped out into the street. Mordekai breathed deeply, enjoying once again the air of the Magma Mountains. But he knew that he wouldn't have much time to admire it.
"There is a strange vampire who ventured into my land, destroying creatures who meant no harm and acting like a coward in the heat of battle. For some reason, he has acquired a sort of bioluminescence. I will have to journey to the Kingdom of Darkness, seek him out, and defeat him in honorable battle." Mordekai recounted his experiences with the vampire to Dorfl.
"Well, I will help you on your quest however I can," said Dorfl.
"Thank you," said Mordekai. He glanced up at the rapidly darkening sky. "But first, we need a place to stay." He strode into a nearby inn. "2 rooms," he asked the human innkeeper bluntly.
