Cloud had stood. "My name is Cloud Forthwind, heir to the throne of the Halflings of the wilds, I'm not sure if you heard of our war against the 'locals', but after it, I decided I can't stay by, and watch others suffer, I... am at your service." Cloud declares proudly. "I've fought bigger creatures before in the war, they were gravity users, our keeper would say. They strided menacingly, and came from the west, I was told." Cloud continued. "Once we were triumphant, we fled to our homes, except others, who decided they would help others.. Later  our keeper declared them as Graviton Mercenaries, and I swore, I would take revenge, for all the pain they had caused to my people. And so, I am here." Cloud had finished, sitting in a proud pose, as he waiting for the others response.

Mordekai looked at the strange halfling who had just entered the room, along with a large Fire Eater. Much like himself, the Fire Eater wore armor, but his was a deeper crimson red. His Pyrospear was longer and larger than Mordekai's, also. The halfling was a short one, barely reaching Mordekai's chest, but he looked like a fine fighter, with daggers, bows, and a strange-looking staff on his person.

"Pleased to meet you two, Cloud and General Isaac," said Mordekai respectfully. "I would like to join the GraviTen. From a young age, I was a soldier of the armies of Gravity; after the great war between them, my family was destroyed and my barracks razed to the ground. Revenge is the one thing that I thirst for, and I assure you, I am an able fighter. I request to join the army of the GraviTen. Whether I will be the highest commander or the lowliest private does not matter to me; it is fighting that I live for, and fighting I shall do."

"General Issac doesn't talk, he's the strong silent type, you see?" Cloud said, half-laughing.

Mordekai also laughed. Then he added to Isaac, "I may not be able to start in your armies right away, though. I have ... personal matters to attend to. If you'll allow it, give me a couple of days." Mordekai thought back to the strange bioluminescent vampire who had offended him so, and who it was his destiny to slay. I will find you and kill you, he thought, with a fiery passion that could only have come from a Fire Eater.

Dia nods. "It's a magnificent and strange weapon.  It was made to be as versatile as possible, I designed while the blacksmith forged.  I had the outer prongs bladed and extended downwards.  The end product ended up looking something like a  battle axe with a long haft.   The spear point is pretty self explanatory, A quick response for anything behind me."   He grabs the basket and sits down.  "Thanks for the food!  I'm absolutely starving!"  He begins to eat hurriedly.

{INC} "A very unique design." Sirenes chuckles as he sits down to eat. She and Norman finish their listing and Sire closes the book she was looking in, standing up and stretching. "I won't be long." Rushing around, she picks up her cloak and puts it on, grabbing a basket and a small bag of quanta from a table drawer. Her path leads over to Norman's side where she gives him a quick peck on the cheek then hurries past Dia "Hope you stay for awhile!" She calls back, waving as she closes the door behind her.

"That girl..." Norman laughs and shakes his head, still half buried in his own thoughts.

{OOC} I notice that my posts seem short and... less than, but I like to leave space for people to react in some way

OOC: No problem, as long as it's well written and responds to the previous posts I'm a happy camper

Also, we use quanta not electrum :P

InC:

Isaac seems to think for a moment, opening his mouth as if to speak then closing it, a habit it appears. He nods, indicating to Amal.
"I'm sure that'll be alright lad, just come back here anytime you want to recruit, and we'll get you over to wherever you want to be stationed," says Amal, nodding as he stands, holding his out to shake Mordekai's.
"And what of you, Cloud and Dorfl?" Asks the paladin, a light smile on his lips.

OOC:  I have an issue with being short and to the point.   I haven't done this in years so it's a little difficult for me to give my character personality and depth.   With practice I'll catch on again.

INC:  Dia waves at sire as the door closes and attempts to say bye, but ends up choking a bit on the food he's been stuffing into his mouth like a starved animal.   He manages to swallow and takes in a deep breath, "Well I'm stuffed!"  He says grinning like a fool.   "Could you tell Sirenes I'll be at the tavern, There are a few people I'd like to talk to."  He stands and tidies up the mess he made whilst eating.  Dia then grabs his trident, slings it over his shoulder and strides out the door, shouting "I'll catch ya later Norman!" As it closes behind him.

He heads towards the tavern at a relaxed pace.

"Mhmm... later..." Norman speaks like a zombie as he continues looking through his things and moves into the back room.

Sirenes strolls down the road, marching and twirling as she hums to herself. The town was now quite different from before. People walked down the streets, shops were open, a few children played outside (although others were still too afraid). The young woman traveled from shop to shop, buying everything that was needed. As she said, it didn't take long at all. Upon return to the infirmary, she can't even finds Norman tending to a sick patient in one of the beds.

"Did you get everything?"

"Yes, Master" Sirenes rolls her eyes, smirking.

"The ginseng? Mugwort? Ginger?"

"Yeeeess." She whines

"What about the Feverfew?" He glances up

Sirenes leans against the wall and attempts to change the subject "Hey, where's umm..." She tries to remember "Dia... Diabriel?"

"Oh.. He left." Norman shrugs. "The mint? You forgot the mint last time."

"I didn't forget it... I ate it." She mumbles under her breath, looking away. "So, where'd he go?"

"He said something about the tavern. Did you get it?"

"YES!" She shouts, turning and making her escape through the door.

"Shh!" Norman frowns at her as she vanishes down the hall.

Sirenes makes her way down to the tavern. She skips, arms clasped behind her back. A few of the children fall in line behind her mimicking her movements. She laughs and starts to hum and sing a little. Soon, the door to the tavern flies open and she enters. The children follow, trying to use her as an excuse to enter.

"I don't think so! Get out! Out with you! Out!" The tavern owner's wife catches them in no time, grabbing two of them by the ear and tossing them out. They try to argue, crying out in pain as she dismisses them. Sirenes just laughs.

"I guess I'm ready. I have a score to settle for my people." Cloud said, his eyes still locked around his surroundings, he then, turned to Dorfl, waiting for his response.

Dorfl glanced at Mordekai, who made no reaction. Then, he looked back at Amal. "I will recruit, but not before I help out Mordekai with what he has to do."

Mordekai smiled. "Thank you, Dorfl. Now, if you don't mind, I will be leaving. I must start immediately. But you can be sure that I will be back, ready to sign up for your armies."

Mordekai saluted to Isaac, Amal, Cloud, and the three nobles in turn. Then, he strode out the door, Dorfl next to him. Amal ran behind them, holding a bag of quanta.

"I believe you forgot this," said Amal.

"Thanks," says Mordekai. "I'll be back!" He put the bag of quanta underneath his armor. "Whenever you need any, just ask me," he told Dorfl as they stepped out into the street. Mordekai breathed deeply, enjoying once again the air of the Magma Mountains. But he knew that he wouldn't have much time to admire it.

"There is a strange vampire who ventured into my land, destroying creatures who meant no harm and acting like a coward in the heat of battle. For some reason, he has acquired a sort of bioluminescence. I will have to journey to the Kingdom of Darkness, seek him out, and defeat him in honorable battle." Mordekai recounted his experiences with the vampire to Dorfl.

"Well, I will help you on your quest however I can," said Dorfl.

"Thank you," said Mordekai. He glanced up at the rapidly darkening sky. "But first, we need a place to stay." He strode into a nearby inn. "2 rooms," he asked the human innkeeper bluntly.
