Catyrael's blade had not been idle, destroying the hostile Death creatures left, right and centre, so to speak.

Invoking the blessing of Elbereth, infusing his sword with holy energy and the Light of Heaven, increasing its power significantly, his strikes easily melted through mummy hordes analogous to a hot  knife's course through butter. Of course, the mummies whom were actually eviscerated by his sword were those who actually possessed the courage to stand before his brilliant figure; many simply fled at his very sight.

Falindael was right: this is a mere "piece of cake", and if this were all that was requisite to complete the mandate, it would hardly be an assignment befitting a Greater Archangel of the Council. But allow patience to prevail; I sense far greater events to transpire before the end.

For one, Xanriel was approaching happily with a half-Nymph, leading her by the arm, and was clearly enjoying her presence to the extent that only lovers could.

This was the daughter of the famed and legendary Lucius.

"A star shines upon the hour of our meeting, Sirenes. I am Catyrael, the Archangel of Justice, and it is a pleasure to become acquainted with the daughter of Lucius and the love of Xanriel. The former was the most valiant of Angels in all the Ages; neither is your latter association wanting in terms of courage or virtue. I had and still have the honour of being close friends with both, and Xanriel's friends have a tendency of eventually becoming my own."

OOC: I don't think they need to transform at all. The nymphs shouldn't really transform when Malcom is controlling them, I think that's just unneeded. For that matter, I don't think the Nymph's need to transform at all, they shouldn't have a powered up forms. When a Grey Nymph 'evolves' it becomes a Death Nymph, that's it, not a muse, not some uber creature, it's still a Nymph, and that's what they should become. I only had Xanriel evolve because there is a Hierarchy to the angels, and he should be high up on it as a Master. I think there's way too much transforming in this RPG personally. Feel free to have Nyxia evolve into a Succubus or something with your blood, but I don't think they should change under Malcom's control.

Sirenes smirks and tries to fight it, but she can't help but laugh at Catyrael's long introduction. He sounded like some sort of noble. The gypsies didn't get along with them very well. Remembering that, her smile quickly fades to a look of quiet thought. Suddenly, she didn't feel very comfortable, sliding her hand down into Xanriel's and squeezing it lightly.

Originally, when Terro first wrote it, Malcolm somehow turned Nyxia into a Vampiress, and Decora (Earth Nymph) into a human. To me, that's kinda weird, and doesn't really make sense. But I do think that the Nymphs should change when controlled by Malcolm, because I think of them as being corrupted by the Void; they don't really "transform", just forcibly turned into something different.

And another thing... Does the name "Malcolm Nihilus" sound good? That could be Malcolm's full name. If people don't mind, I can even write up a background for him.

OOC: His last name isn't really needed, but I think Terro can do the background just fine.

Void isn't corruption or mutation, entropy is, Void is nothingness, they shouldn't be corrupted and changed, they should just not be able to think for themselves anymore.

InC:

Xanriel held Sirenes's hand firmly, giving her a strange look, but decided she would tell him when she was comfortable. He turned with her toward the center of the dead marshes. He walked slowly, enjoying Sirenes's company, and enjoying the return of his friend.

"Catyrael, you must tell me all that has been happening in the heavens since I descended to the earth. I haven't spoken much with my father since a vision I had where I was appointed Sirenes's Guardian."

If Malcolm is going to be the central antagonist of this RPG, then he should not belong to Terro, or to anyone. I thought we agreed that we should all control Malcolm.

I think we need the opinion of other players for this one. When I think of Void-aligned creatures, I think of Outsiders, beings that are outside of our universe. When a creature takes in parts of the Void into themselves, they are invariably changed in one way or another. For example, the Void turned some ordinary beings into False Gods.

Precisely, no one owns him, so why should you do the background? Malcom is however, Terro's brain child, so he should make decisions like that.

The false gods just took on the powers of their element(s), the Nymph's already embody that.

When I originally proposed this, the Void formed a sort of "power vacuum" inside the False Gods, causing them to absorb massive amounts of elemental energies into themselves and thus turning them into what they are now. I feel that if Malcolm creates a different personality within a Nymph (Roxane/Nyxia for example), the Nymph's physical body should at least change in some degrees. But again, we need the opinions of other players on this one.

I'm just going to make a background for Malcolm anyways. Use it, use parts of it, or completely ignore it, I don't really care. I doubt that Terro has anything planned for Malcolm's past at the moment, so why not make some suggestions?

What? That is completely ridiculous. Basically, you're saying I cannot suggest anything?!

InC: If destroying mummy hordes was quite easy, summarising the events that had transpired in the spheres of Heaven would prove to be a difficult, onerous task.

"If what must be said were told to its fullest extent, we shall be standing as we are until the coming of winter. When we are no longer in the Middle Plane upon a mandate, visit me in Heaven, and then we shall have as much time as we need for ourselves. For the present, know the following: upon news of your defeat, I was alarmed, and immediately departed with a team of veteran Swords to recuperate you; we scoured much of the Middle Plane, visiting many of its realms and asking for word, though discovering frustratingly little. After the passage of nine months, the Council deemed the search to be fruitless, and persuaded me to cease it, considering that ultimately, there were duties of far greater importance to dispatch the Swords to than an attempt to find one single Angel, whom to the extent of our knowledge, may already have died. So it was with sorrow and resignation that I set my attention to other things. At the time, the world believed that you had lost your life in that duel with the Fallen Druid, and never before has anything shocked and moved the Middle Plane and Heaven so greatly. Middle Plane inhabitants began to doubt whether we had the strength to continue to act in our capacity as their celestial guides, while Heaven began to question whether intervening in Middle Plane affairs was worth the sacrifices and potential risk to ourselves. Much to my dismay, it was the beginning of a series of events that would culminate in the adoption of an isolationist, indifferent attitude, thus beginning the Dark Age. In fact, the presence that we had established on the Middle Plane during the Second Golden Age has never been seen again. There is not much that merits mention during this period of darkness, except that Heaven also decayed, perhaps imperceptibly to most, but it declined with the Middle Plane. We had become almost decadent, and my occasional mandates scarcely compared with what we had managed to achieve on the Middle Plane during the Second Golden Age and before. As a result of this laxity, by the present, if we cannot intervene in massive force, it is not because we have not the will, but it is because we have not the actual strength. Lucius continued, however, to serve admirably, and restored Heaven some of its former pride and glory, and if we actually even experienced a Last Golden Age, he deserves a substantial amount of the credit. However, unlike the previous two periods of greatness when we held established military presences in every domain of the Earth, though we had recovered some of our power, we acted mostly through the Protectorate of Heaven, the former name for the Kingdom of Light, which served as our terrestrial proxy, and via which we dispensed our will. At that time, the Kingdom was not a completely autonomous state; though we had left responsibility for internal affairs to themselves, an administration of Angels of Heaven controlled their foreign policy and diplomacy. But in the present, we no longer even have a Protectorate; though our will remains binding for the Middle Plane, one can easily see in practice how not inclined the inhabitants are to observe and to respect it. There is not much more of significance which needs to be related urgently, other than the death of Lucius and his replacement, of whom I cannot say as much as I could for his predecessor. Finally, as for myself, as you may have noticed, not much has changed, and I still grieve for Altarael."

Then, upon the right, another luminous figure appeared; it was Falindael, smiling cheerfully as always.

Brightening in complexion again, Catyrael said, "Does your experience prove it to have been a "piece of cake", Falindael?"

"Even more so than that, Catyrael. But there is scarcely any suitable word in language to describe how blatantly easy that was!"

I've just had a crazy idea. Malcolm used to be human, right? How about giving him a twin brother?! His twin brother could be called Zacharias, and he could control all 12 elements; he could be the reincarnation of Zanzarino himself... This is just a random brain glitch, so I'm completely OK with it if you guys don't like this idea.

EDIT: Idea removed, because Purity is vehemently against it.

I'll post Malcolm's profile. Again, I do not care, at all, if this is used or not. You guys can use this, or use parts of this, or use none of this, I don't give a ****. If you want to change it in any way, go ahead, I will not argue against you.

Name: Malcolm Nihilus

Element: Void

Description: Malcolm looks like a handsome young man in his early twenties. He has short, sandy brown hair, and deep, penetrating gray eyes. He is usually dressed in an elegant white noble's robe, adorned with black sigils. Physically, Malcolm appears to be human, but in essence he is a piece of the Void, and thus not human at all.

Background:
Malcolm was born on the Uncharted Shore, along with his twin brother Zacharias. His parents were devout Zanzites, members of a cult who worshiped the long-forgotten Overgod Zanzarino. Ever since birth, Malcolm had a natural aptitude for magic and telepathy, but he had no elemental affinities at all. This caused his parents, who worshiped the elements, to regard Malcolm as a degenerate and a freak. They shunned and neglected Malcolm, and this caused Malcolm to resent the elements, and Zanzarino himself.
When Malcolm turned 21, his parents officially disowned him. He was exiled from the Uncharted Shore. He wandered around the world, never staying in one place, because he hated the elements themselves. Then, there came this fateful day, when the False God of Entropy, Chaos Lord, was slain. A mysterious, aberrant energy escaped from the dying soul of the False God, an energy that does not belong to any of the 12 elements. That energy was the 13th element, Void, who was sealed into each and every False God. The Void released from Chaos Lord formed the Void Entity, who was immediately attracted to Malcolm because of his non-elemental magic and hatred of the elements. The Void Entity then merged with Malcolm, promising him power, and revenge against the elements.
Currently, Malcolm is trying to resurrect the Void by releasing it from its seal. The seal could only be undone by a congregation of the 12 elements. Malcolm intend to do this by capturing and brainwashing 12 elemental Nymphs, who embody the elements.

Skills:
Hypnosis, Mind Control, and Brainwashing: Since birth, Malcolm had a natural aptitude for telepathy. After merging with the Void Entity, he gained the ability to brainwash other creatures by nullifying their mental defenses with his Void powers. Only those with exceptionally strong wills can resist this ability.
Conversion: After brainwashing a creature, Malcolm can inject a portion of his Void powers into him/her/it, turning that creature into something that's not quite its original self. Those converted by Malcolm will have gray eyes, just like Malcolm himself; they will always obey him without question. This conversion can be undone by injecting an exceptionally large amount of elemental energy into the converted creature, dispelling the Void energy.
Nullification: Using the powers of the Void, Malcolm can nullify most, if not all, elemental attacks; he can create zones where no elemental energies can exist. By inputting more power, Malcolm can nullify even solid matter; this is his primary form of attack, nullifying his enemy's physical body. However, the nullification process is not instantaneous, and more energies require more power and time to nullify.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.
