Mordekai:
He sat, staring at the fire before him, as Sekhor got up. God, I'm confused. First, he acts all strange once I show him my spell. And then, he... knows my grandfather? And then, when I mention it, he blows up on me? Mordekai did not want to move; his armor was heavy and the fire was warm. But he did so anyways, getting up and walking a little way away from the caravan. He stood, the gigantic desert moon looming high in the abyssal sky. The dunes stretched out for miles. Mordekai stood for what seemed like all eternity, investigating every aspect of everything around him.
He closed his eyes. Force Vision. He had learned this specialized skill later on. Although the denizens of Gravity could control and view the powers of the force of gravity, specially trained warriors like Mordekai could expand this and control other forces, too. Now, he was using Force Vision in order to detect the forces around him. Not for any particular reason; he sometimes liked using Force Vision just to get a different view of things. And he needed a different view right now.
Around him, he saw a blanket of tinted orange. The force of Gravity. Always present, always constant. Red pinpoints sprung up here and there. The force of heat. Heat means bodies. Bodies mean living things. He also sensed a strange yellow blanket of color flowing around the area. Strange... the force of Time? There were other assorted colors indicating weak magnetism and electricity, but nothing outstanding.
And that was all. Nothing was out of the ordinary. Mordekai sighed, preparing to exit Force Vision, when he noted something peculiar. Air force. Air force by itself was nothing out of the ordinary; the air constantly shifted. But far in the distance was a perfect hemisphere of blue air force off the surface of the dunes. How can this phenomena be possible?
Don't trouble yourself. Mordekai reopened his eyes and shut off Force Vision, still looking at the spot where the hemisphere was. He squinted... and was quite surprised. The girl Sekhor called Mariah, sleeping. Interesting...
Speaking of which... Mordekai walked back to the caravan, tired in both mind and body. "Got a bed?" he asked one of the Anubi.
The Anubi showed him to a canvas tent with a roll of papyrus on the floor and a cotton pillow. Mordekai thanked the Anubis and laid on the papyrus without taking off his armor.
