How are we doing? conveyed Heimdall to Veneficus, who stayed in mental contact with Incarnate.

Eh... We're making deep holes in their lines, but they're just filling them right up. The replacement has slowed since the liches were killed, but you know how Death works... for every one of our men that die, they only get more skeletons.

Their Graveyards. We'll have to destroy them. Heimdall ran straight into a legion of ghouls, his mind in front of his body. Ghouls had weaker minds than most undead, and Heimdall and the magicians had no trouble taking them down. "Deeper!" called Heimdall. "Their Graveyards are probably behind their lines!"

No time to cast Quintessence. I'll just have to get there fast enough. Heimdall slashed through hordes of undead, paving the way for the rest of the magicians. He was injured twice, but several skilled healers in the party brought him right back. Before long, they were deep into the army of Death. We shouldn't have much trouble now; the back line of the army is usually the weakest.

They now ran through an unusually empty plain. A thick mist covered the area. Heimdall knew that they were getting close to the Graveyards. He stopped. "Prepare destruction spells," he called. He himself readied a Thunderbolt spell, concentrating all his reserves into the tip of his shard.

Suddenly, there was a scream. It lasted for about a second and then stopped. Then, several more screams rose up in the air. Heimdall's blood froze. Just then, a deadly mental force smashed into Heimdall's mind. Instinctively, Heimdall drove it out, but not before catching a glimpse of it. Otherworldly and spiritual... and deadly. Heimdall released his mental energies but corralled them inwards, letting them flow around the shard. Then, he let go and watched as his body once more gained the capabilities of Quintessence.

And then, dozens of humanoid forms stepped out of the mist. Oh no. Not now. Not them.

Most of the magicians that Heimdall was fighting with had stepped out. He recognized several healers, some vampires, and a shade or two. However, they were different. Their skin was grey and pale and their eyes glimmered with a dark purple. Suddenly, a voice shouted into his head. What happened?! cried Veneficus's familiar consciousness. One second we were headed towards the Graveyards. The next, we were mentally attacked... and now...

Heimdall gulped. Our allies are already dead. All that is left are their bodies. And their bodies... are now possessed.

Suddenly, Veneficus realized what Heimdall was alluding to. Wraiths.

Editing in progress.

"Hell's Damnation."

Jonathan's blade exploded into a gargantuan pillar of scarlet and obsidian flames. Directly in front of him, the ground split open, revealing dark rifts that was like the primordial abyss. Sanguine fire gushed out of the rifts, licking and consuming all undead they touched, pulling their damned souls back to where they belonged. Clenching his teeth tightly, Jonathan increased his energy input. Gigantic blades of black and red energy, thousands of them, erupted from the dark rifts, instantly obliterating the more powerful undead that were not consumed by the hellfire. But there were still some left, deathless juggernauts that withstood even the blades from Hell; shadowy tendrils of energy then creeped out from the rifts, wrapping themselves around the undead juggernauts, and pulled them into the depths of the abyss.

All of it had only taken a few seconds, but that one attack had already destroyed the main bulk of the undead horde. Jonathan retracted his sword from the ground. The dark rifts lost their source of energy, and they were instantly gone without a trace like they were never there in the first place. The ground remained perfectly normal, but the hordes of undead that once walked on it were now consumed by the Darkness.

Kain stared at Jonathan in disbelief. The attack Jonathan just used had made a complete fool of his own attack, which looked like child's play. "Don't have anything to say now, do you?" Jonathan taunted back.

"Stop fighting among yourselves," Nyxia materialized beside them. "The fight is not over yet."

Immediately, Jonathan felt them. The presences were spiritual and ethereal, but they reminded him nothing of Aether; they stank of Death. "Damn it," Jonathan cursed. "They have brought Wraiths. And the only beings that can control so many specters of Death are..."

"Reapers," Kain finished the sentence for him. Like Jonathan, he also sensed the immensely powerful and otherworldly presence of a higher being, the Reaper. Like the Angels of Light and Demons of Darkness, the Reapers were messengers of Death that took away the lives of mortal beings. Jonathan was sure that he could defeat a Reaper if he tries, but he would probably need some access to his Master powers.

"Quite a powerful spell you cast there," sneered a cold and alien voice. It sent chills down Kain's spine, but Jonathan and Nyxia seemed unaffected. From the eerie blanket of smoke, a figure emerged. It was clad in a tattered gray robe, and its edges seemed to be eternally decaying into nothingness. Skeletal hands gripped a long, vicious scythe, its shaft made of white bone adorned with indigo gems and its curved blade gleaming with a spectral purple sheen. Under the gray hood was a grinning skull, its empty eye sockets glowing with two motes of cold indigo fire full of pure malice. The Grim Reaper had truly lived up to its name, its very appearance sending thoughts of terror and despair into its enemies.

"Thank you," Jonathan replied sarcastically. "For that compliment, you shall receive a quick and painless death."

The Reaper laughed, an empty, mocking sound whose echo resembled the tortured moans of lost souls. "Insolent child," its skeletal jaws opened in a ghastly grin. "You cannot give death to one who embodies Death itself. I am immortal, and your insignificant powers are nothing compared to my might."

"Pardon me," Jonathan said in the same sarcastic tone. "I meant that you shall receive a quick and painless destruction. I will crush your soul, and erase you from existence."

"How dare you!" The Reaper screeched, its indigo eyes flaring brighter and colder. "You think you have the power, pathetic mortal? You think you have the right?! You are nothing, and now you shall become less than nothing!" Raising its scythe, the Reaper charged at Jonathan, intent on reaping away his life.

"I hate egomaniac fools like you," Jonathan muttered before raising his sword to block the Reaper's strike.

[OOC] Lazy Sire is lazy... but she will find something to post anyways

[INC]
Screams, shouts and battlecries echoed from the ground below as spells and attacks were flung back and forth between the two opposing armies. Sirenes quickly picked disconnected bone fingers out of her hair and clothing, shuddering slightly. "I'm.. I'm fine. Thanks to you. I shouldn't have-" She flinches again and grips the sleeve of Xanriel's robes as another blot of lightning flashes across the battle field. It was all she could do not to scream. Where is that coming from? Taking a deep breath, she calms herself. "We should go back, they need our-" Looking below, she watches as Jonathan's spell obliterates the bulk of the Army of Death "...help." Then the reaper came. As if she weren't afraid enough, this thing seemed to forcefully snatch it to the surface. She closes her eyes and tries to suppress the emotion by sheer will. "Did I mention how much I hate the Dead Marshes?" She chuckles halfheartedly.

Just to clarify, there is only one Reaper. They are powerful "hero units", so they're not something to be employed in large numbers. However, there are multiple Wraiths.

"Don't worry, it will be over soon enough." Xanriel smiles, giving Sirenes a peck on the cheek. As he stands straight, smiling, the large black wings of Astariel slams full force into him, followed by the other three fallen angels, sending him flying off the back of the dragon and tumbling through the skies.

Careening through the air, his mind cleared inches from the ground as his wings spread. Carrying himself along the ground and into a loop. At least, it should have, but just as his wings opened, two of the dark angels crashed into him, feet first, pinning him to the ground, whilst the third landed near his hand, kicking his shield away, then his sword. Astariel walked up languidly, a satisfied look on her face.

"Good job girls. Rael, Hariel, pick this worthless guardian up." Grabbed by his arms, one wing held by the third, unnamed angel, Xanriel was lifted from the ground, as Astariel walked up to him, almost purring with elation, "Hello Xanriel, long time no see."

"Likewise Astariel, you're looking terrible as always." His attitude was met with a back hand that split his lip, some blood from what he could now tell was a broken nose sprayed onto the wings of Hariel, who in turn slapped his face the other way.

"Be gentle with him dear. He's my play thing," Astarial faux-scolded Hariel as she walked up to Xanriel, stroking his face tenderly, "Isn't that right my love?"

Xanriel struggled to break free, flapping his one free wing madly, but it was no use, he was strong, but not as strong as three angels together.

"Screw you Astariel." Xanriel glared, turning his head down to his sword."

"Ha! You'd like that, wouldn't you Xanny?" She giggles, sliding her hand down his chest, just as her hand was inches above his groin, she smirked, pulling her hand back up and slapping him again, hard, "No, I think not. I don't do lighters these days."

Anger flared in Xanriel. He was outraged. Astariel had always been free spirited, but she was acting like a common whore, and did not want to be involved. In response to his anger, the motes of light protecting Sirenes broke up, half of them hurtling across the battle field and running full force into the three angels holding Xanriel, knocking them to the ground. Astariel looked shocked, and went to draw her sword. Xanriel gave a swift kick to her sword hand, knocking her back and breaking her grip, then dipped down to scoop up his own great sword. In control again, he summoned his shield do his off hand. Stepping over his would be captors, his rays of light holding them down, he leveled his sword to Astariel, who had now drawn her's as well.

"Why Astariel, all I want to know is why," Xanriel did not wish to kill her, but she posed a threat to his friends and his ward, "What made you turn your back on my father and join the ranks of the dead?" Astariel laughed in defiance, lunging at him with her sword. He met her blade with his, deflecting it and using a shield bash to knock her back.

"You want to know why Xanny? You of all people! I watched you work all those years, I know how much you loved your job, loved the killing. It wasn't fair to the rest of us, those of us who weren't Judge's had to sit back and let you have all the fun," She cackled madly, licking some of Xanriel's blood off her hand, "Well, now we get to do all the killing we want."

"You think I enjoyed my job? It was a duty, nothing more. I never once took pleasure in killing." Xanriel lept at Astariel, using his wings to add some velocity to his strike, but just as he had, she deflected the blow with her blade, and kicked him square in the chest, knocking him back.

"Oh please, I know you better than you know yourself lover! I saw the look in your eyes as you slew countless hundreds. The men, women and children of that death village that entered your father's lands, that group of fire demons that tried to burn down the forests of life. You enjoyed every second of it, don't lie!" Spreading her wings, Astariel tackled Xanriel, who spread his wings as well, carrying there fight to the skies.

Wraiths...

Heimdall had first heard about these silent killers while he was researching. Apparently, they were spirits living in the physical realm. They usually took the form of a gas or smoke cloud and were harmless. However, their one ability - and the one that made them feared throughout the land - was their ability of "soul-stealing". Essentially, they destroyed the souls of physical forms and took over their bodies as their own. Only a very strong mind could resist the power of a Wraith.

But why were they here? Wraiths were usually free loners. Only a very powerful spirit could have managed to summon them, let alone make them fight for them.

Heimdall was jarred from his thinking by a powerful mental attack. Heimdall blocked it and stabbed back with a series of rapid attacks; they were absorbed and deflected by the Wraith controlling a magician. Heimdall, Veneficus, and perhaps a dozen magicians were surrounded by several dozen magicians possessed by Wraiths. "Get their minds!" Heimdall called out. Destroying their physical bodies only releases them back into their original form. Destroying the mind of a possessed form was the only way to kill a Wraith.

Three magicians in front of Heimdall fired bolts at him. With a burst of telekinesis, Heimdall reversed their flow, sending them spiraling into the chests of the magicians. As they choked, Heimdall immediately followed with mental blows, dispelling the evil spirits efficiently with quick succession. Besides him, the other magicians were struggling. One of them dropped, his face contorted in pain. Another tried to flee but was caught by a bolt to the back. Heimdall fought methodically, always on the defensive. He waited for the opponents to strike first so that he could counter and shatter their minds.

But soon, the wraiths caught on. Their numbers were dwindling. They stopped attacking Heimdall and started firing an assortment of magic missiles at the remaining magicians. Veneficus set up his signature spell shield, absorbing the missiles. Heimdall took the opportunity to pick off the wraiths, his mind a pinpointing arrow that pierced the minds of many possessed beings. Finally, only one wraith remained. Heimdall recognized that it had possessed the body of a powerful healer. Every time Heimdall injured it with a spell or mental attack, the healer knew to repair itself.

Veneficus stepped back. Heimdall knew what was coming. A joint attack. The wraith stepped back, also. Just then, Veneficus released a black beam of pure dark energy. Heimdall immediately followed with a mind flay, intended to obliterate the wraith's mind. The wraith screamed as an arm was blown apart by the black energy, but had no time to heal as the mind flay destroyed the wraith.

Veneficus, Heimdall, and five other magicians stood, panting, their immaterial foes vanquished.

It happened so quickly, Xanriel being tackled off of the dragon, then dragged and pinned to the ground. She called out to him, charging bolts of ice to throw at the attacking angels. They hauled him to his feet and she watched as this gorgeous female angel stroked her hand against him. Jealousy flared in her eyes and she readied to let fly, but before she could manage to fire any of her bolts, Xanriel's motes did the job for her, successfully freeing him from the grasp of his captors. Sirenes watched as Xanriel took up his shield and sword to fight. From so high, she couldn't hear anything that they were saying and so she began trying to get the dragon to fly lower so she could dismount.

And now... the Graveyards. Heimdall and his small group of magicians stepped warily through the mist. "Wait," said Heimdall. "Give me a minute."

He had to be prepared for the next assault. The wraith attack had decimated their group, and Heimdall knew that they would need a strong leader to continue battle. He concentrated on his mind, turning it from a restless, moving energy to a calm one. Then, he siphoned his mental energies into his shard, absorbing every drop. Wait... let me try something different. Instead of releasing the Quintessence spell immediately, Heimdall concentrated, tightening his mind deeper and deeper into the shard.

Then, he released his grip on the energy as quickly as possible. Blue energy flowed over him, rejuvenating him, but the effects did not stop there. As he had predicted, the spell spread outwards farther, healing and lending strength to Veneficus and the remaining magicians.

"Thanks," said Veneficus. "We may not be immortal now, but we are stronger." The group continued walking. Suddenly, they saw the Graveyards before them. A vast expanse of land before them was devoid of mist. It was a wasteland, filled with sludge, bones, skulls, jagged rocks, and Gemini knows what else. Around the massive Graveyards were a ring of trees. These were rotted, black, and huge, shooting upwards towards the sky and crooked. They were probably thousands of years old, having spent their entire life rotting away in the Graveyard.

And, even as Heimdall watched, a steady stream of Skeletons and zombies emerged from the Graveyard, clawing upwards, picking up what tools they could find, and staggering towards them. "Take them down, but remember - they have an unlimited supply. We have to destroy the entire Graveyard!" As the undead host reached them, Heimdall shattered them quickly with mental explosions. As he predicted, however, they kept coming.

"Don't let them get close!" The other 6 magicians were firing missiles in rapid succession at the horde, but they just marched on, relentless. Heimdall knew that this could not keep up. They needed something to physically obliterate the Graveyards - and they needed it fast.

Just then, Heimdall knew exactly how to solve their problems. I need your help, he conveyed to Veneficus, who united his mind with Heimdall's. "Stay together," he called to the other 5 magicians. "Move back if you have to." The 5 were pouring all they could to slow the steady stream of undead. Veneficus and Heimdall closed their eyes.

What do I have to do?
I need a bolt. When I tell you, fire it to that tree.
Preparing.

As Veneficus prepared his bolt, Heimdall summoned all the telekinesis he had. The largest thing he had lifted with his mind before were two trees in his training against Zanthos. However, these trees were much larger. Heimdall intended not to lift them, but to break them. He concentrated, preparing a force of pushing concentrated on a tiny point. He then suffused this force into Veneficus's black missile. Now! Veneficus opened his eyes and let the bolt fly.

Like a rock from a catapult, it arced over their heads slowly and plummeted downwards to the base of one of the trees. It exploded with black energy. A wave of force rippled outwards from the explosion, splintering the aging tree. The undead looked up in horror as the tree cracked, swayed, and then finally fell, toppling downwards onto the front portion of the Graveyard. With sickening screams, crunches, and thuds, the undead were eliminated. The five remaining magicians repeated Heimdall's and Veneficus's feat, another tree smashing down onto the back of the Graveyard. Bones, rocks, and rubble flew into the air. Heimdall knew that the Graveyards would not operate any more.

The tide is turning, knew Heimdall.

Xanriel and Astariel met swords again, and as she leaned in to kiss him, he brought his legs up, knocking her back into the air. She fell back, laughing as her wings caught her, carrying her back up to his level.
"Oh this is so much fun Xanny! It's just like sparring with you in the old days, you know if you joined us, I could keep you on as my play thing." Xanriel gritted his teeth, calling up his rays of light and sending them flying at her, buffeting her wings and knocking her off course.
"Big mistake lover!" The three angels on the ground, now free from their shining captors stood and took wing, coming up after Xanriel. He /had/ mad a bad mistake. He drew his sword up, calling on the powers of light, as the blade shone white hot, the area all around the blade darkening as it drew in and absorbed the light. The blade grew larger, becoming the Morning Glory, just in time to meet the three black blades of the fallen angels coming down onto his. With a great heave he knocked them back, pulling his reflective shield up against their counter attack, deflecting the three blade again and thrusting out with his blade, stabbing one of the fallen angels through the wing, the one that had as of yet gone unnamed.
The two other fallen angels went to swing at Xanriel, and as he brought his Morning Glory around to defend himself, it came up through the wing, sheering bone from flesh, wing from body as it cut through the unnamed angel like butter. He met their thrusts with sword and shield as the other angel fell to the ground. With her wing severed so badly, she was mortal, and the fall to the earth was too much for her weak form, and she died. He had no time to mourn his actions, Astariel was up again and rocketing toward Sirenes, but with the other two on him, he couldn't get to her.
"SIRENES! LOOK OUT!"

If you guys don't know, right now we're only fighting the vanguard of the Army of Death. We're not even inside the Dead Marsh yet. The trails in the Dead Marsh are narrow, so we can't have this sort of huge battles in there. After we win this battle, we'll have to form a narrow line to enter the Marsh.

The next battle we fight will be with the False Vampires led by the reanimated Mavros. The one after that might be Necrosis.

Xanriel seemed to be holding his own quite well and probably didn't need her help anytime soon, but nevertheless, she tried to get that damned dragon to understand what she wanted to makes it's descent so she could get off. During her fruitless effort, she heard Xanriel shout her name and turned to find that beautiful angel launching herself at her full speed. She'd had no idea that such a beautiful face could be contorted into something so angry and sinister.

There wasn't much time to react. The woman was flying, so throwing a bolt wouldn't work, she could just dodge it. She has a sword, so if she waiting until she was close enough not to miss she would most likely be run through in the process. Everything seemed to move so slowly as she ticked through plans of action. There was only one thing she could think of. Sirenes got to her feet as fast as she could, finding her balance on the moving creature and taking her stance.

Astariel laughs maniacally "You plan to fight me barehanded?! How amusing! Mortals are such idiots!"

Grab the extended arm or robes, twist, hip in... toss She could see herself going through the motion. This needed to be done right and she needed to avoid the sword swing in the process. Bracing herself for the impact, Sirenes takes the hit. Shifting inward, she barely avoids the edge of the blade, her hand braces the woman's arm and she follows through, leaning forward and launching her toward the ground.

Astariel didn't expect the maneuver, but she reacted quickly to it, grabbing Sirenes by her hair and snatching her off of the dragon's back. The two women topple head over heals in the air as Asariel uprights herself, flapping her wings quickly to pull herself back into the air. In a last effort to keep herself from plummeting to the ground and most likely being killed, she grabs onto the hem of Astariel's robes. The angelic woman growls "Release me, mortal trash!" She proceeds to kick and swing her sword at Sirenes in an effort to disconnect her. Her flight was awkward with the other woman weighing her down from an awkward position.

Sirenes clung for dear life, being swung back and forth by Asariel's wavering flight. She had no choice but to take a few kicks to the face as she was concentrating more on avoiding the sharp edge of the woman's sword. But she knew she wouldn't last much longer in this situation. Eyes darted back and forth, searching for her friends. Anyone who didn't seem too occupied to help. A glimpse of bright pink cause her eye nearby. "MAx!" She shouted to the chaos creature he had become. "HELP ME!"

"Did someone call me?" His head swiveled to scan the area, eyes locking onto Sirenes. "Ah, the lady calls" Turning, he flies in her direction, singing aloud "Dun dada dun dada dun dada dun dada dun dun! The cavalry has arrived!"

Asariel looks up to see who Sirenes was calling to, seeing Max circle back to come to her aid. "Abomination!" She sneers and more rapidly kicks and slashes at the other woman, flying awkwardly in the opposite direction to keep distance between them and the oncoming creature of chaos. But her movement was hindered by the uneven weight, she couldn't avoid Max for long. Her attention turns to him, sword ready to slice him open the moment he came close enough.

Max was much more agile than he looked. He seemed as if he would crash head on into the two of them, but at the last moment he juked to the side, successfully avoiding Astariel's slash and knocking her askew. Sirenes took the chance and threw herself from the one to the other, grabbing a hold of a part of Max's torso.

Can I part take in this RPG? Just tell me what to do and where to continue from and I will be set to do it. It seems there are only 3-4 people active in this thing. And please tell me which elements are taken and are vacant.
