[OOC] WHAT?! Zanthos died?! When?!

[INC]
Sirenes watches the demonstration intently, following every movement Xanriel makes with the different weapons. She was surprised that he didn't use the spear with his own hands as she's always admired the weapon herself. "An old woman, huh? That sounds like the best things for me. I'm not very strong and I like the idea of not needing a weapon. So... Aikido is what you called it, right?"

So MaX is really the son of Dream Catcher? Is Dream Catcher male or female? And is that the only reason why you want MAX to be gay? He doesn't have to be gay to be flamboyant. And how big is the butterfly?
OOC: I haven't decided his actual lineage yet. Still throwing ideas at myself. I was also thinking of two half-bloods getting together. Conversely, he doesn't have to be flamboyant to be gay. BUT, I find it very freaky to watch flamboyant straight male individuals, such as a good number of Johnny Depp's characters. For MaX, I just want the freedom to play a gay character. The biggest reason for this choice is that I am gay. It'll make my writing and the characterization of mAX more authentic.

The butterfly wings is normally as wide as a hand with a big fat demon body. But, it can shrink or grow up to a believable 1hp creature would be.

InC: "Here we are, Dexter. Land of the twilight people. Vampires. Lucky you, you don't have blood..." Peering into the unmanned gate, "Helloooo.... anybody hooooome??"

"Darn it, Dexter. We're late for the party. I think the main event is now taking place. Hmmm... we shouldn't miss this. We can't miss this. So... let's get creative."

OOC: Um... so somehow Max gets inside with his pet Spectre (who promptly hid behind a pillar or something). I can't think of anything more creative right now. So, you can now encounter him however you wish. I'd like to see how you'd picture it. MAx doesn't seem to have anything with him, no supplies, no weapons. Just his brown outfit and pink eyes. Alternatively, if the Ulitharid feels like it, the encounter could be mental while max reduced himself into a really small bug.

I'm gonna go out for drinks tonight. So, I might be back here in half a day. Be kind. Or at least as kind as your character can be.  :-*

OOC: OOF, knew I messed up in the spelling, thanks.

InC:

"Yes, Aikido, it's a very fluid form, like the water that I understand you're quite fond of, but it's also harsh and unwielding like rock. In my opinion, it combines a few aspects of all the elements to create a very powerful fighting style, but more on that later, I'm sure Jonathan'll need our support, it doesn't look so good out there." Xanriel turns to look out his shield, seeing Jonathan and Kain face to face, blades locked as they each try to overpower the other.
"WWOOOOO! GO JONATHAN!"

OOC: "WWOOOOO" = best cheer ever.

InC:

Heimdall glanced all around him, looking but not seeing. He knew they were somewhere, but they could be anywhere - Veneficus and a ghastly horde of creatures of darkness. He looked around, distraught, holding his blades up in front of him. Then, he realized something.

My eyes have failed me. So why not ignore them?

Heimdall closed his eyes, shutting off his vision from the rest of the world. Then, like a cold, shivering flower shaking off its dewdrops and unfolding to the sun, Heimdall sent his mind outwards, seeking for other consciousnesses.

Three. One to the left; savage. One behind me, cunning. And one right in fr-

Heimdall immediately leapt to the right, but was a split second too late. The Drain Life spell from Veneficus hit him in the chest, propelling him backwards. Heimdall gasped as he felt his very essence being sucked out of his body as Veneficus greedily used it to heal himself. Quickly, Heimdall blocked the spell from absorbing his mental energies and watched it shrivel to a trickle. Well, at least I know where he is.

Uh oh. The spell propelled me backwards, right next to...

In a purely instinctive act, Heimdall raised an elbow blade as a dagger, thin and sharp as a needle, shattered on his blade. If he hadn't raised his arm, he would have been skewered. Heimdall spun around, slicing at where he thought the noise was, and heard a squeal as his elbow blade lopped off the head of the demented Shade who had tried to kill him. Heimdall stepped away and opened his mind once again. Two left. One of them is Veneficus. Heimdall detected that Veneficus was about to fire another bolt, so as soon as the bolt left Veneficus, Heimdall took control of it with his mind redirected it, sending it hurtling into the savage form next to Veneficus.

The form roared and its consciousness flickered out, the small Black Dragon lying on the floor, spent.

But Heimdall was still left in the dark, vulnerable to Veneficus's attacks. Heimdall again spread his mind outwards to detect Veneficus, but this time, the wily mage was ready. As soon as Heimdall let down his mental armor, Veneficus leapt on him, battering him with a ferocious mental attack. Heimdall cried out in pain, and Veneficus followed the sound, firing three small shadow bolts towards the noise. Heimdall was still reeling from the pain of the mental assault, and two of the missiles hit him in the chest. Heimdall sprawled onto the ground, his eyes winced shut in pain.

It was at that moment that the Nightfall spell finally let up, and as light came rushing in, Veneficus cried out in pain, his eyes having been blinded by the sudden switch from darkness to light. Thankfully, Heimdall had his eyes closed, and he used the time that Veneficus was blinded to recuperate. Heimdall stood up shakily.

"Despite your best efforts, I escape once again unscathed." Heimdall announced firmly.

"Yes," said Veneficus. "But I'm no worse for wear, either. The Drain Life spell made certain of that."

"Not for long," said Heimdall. "You've lost your weapon. You're done." Heimdall ran towards Veneficus, blade extended, ready to stab into his chest. Suddenly, Veneficus's outline blurred and melded into a shadowy form. Heimdall's body propelled past the shadow, which reached into Heimdall's robe, turned around, and reformed into Veneficus.

Heimdall spun around. "What-"

"A Steal spell," said Veneficus, grinning. "I should've known you had this somewhere." With a swoosh, Veneficus pulled out and brandished the dagger that Heimdall was carrying around.

There goes my first ace in the hole, thought Heimdall, assuming a defensive stance, blades fully extended. This is far from over.

"Heey, water can be unyielding too" She play pouts, nudging him lightly. When she hears Xanriel cheer, Sirenes laughs and claps for Jonathan. It was a bit odd to hear it coming from him. "I wonder if anyone else is fighting right now. I didn't hear from any of them about it, but I'd hate to miss cheering them on if they are."

Zanthos didn't die :P I was only talking about the previous Master of Life, who died and reincarnated into Zanthos.

@Optimalist: Well, if you yourself are gay, then I have absolutely no problems with your character being gay.

I'm not sure if I can post a part today... I'll try.

Editing in progress... Probably.

Jonathan's eyes widened as he saw the red vapor spreading out, starting to envelop him. He sucked his breath in sharply as the gas touched his skin; apparently, the gas had the blood-draining properties of both of their swords.

Kain's form was now completely obscured by the thick blanket of blood-red mist. Like some sort of ghastly specter, the gas extended its deadly caress upon Jonathan, trying to swallow him and drain him dry. But Jonathan had already experienced this kind of battle against Mavros and Johann, where a mere touch of his opponent meant death. Concentrating his powers, Jonathan formed a thick coat of Darkness aura around himself as protection, a second before the red mist completely closed itself in on him. Like some sort of acid, the gas began eating away at Jonathan's barrier, but Jonathan was confident that he could last more than a while.

Jonathan could not see anything; his vision was a sea of swirling crimson and scarlet. He could not hear anything either, as mostly all sound was silently absorbed by the mist like water into sponge. He couldn't even smell anything, because all he could smell was the scent of blood. He tried to slash and hack at the mist, but it had no effect at all. I'll have to find Kain to get out of this, Jonathan thought.

Despite his sight, hearing and smell being stripped, Jonathan could still feel. In a split second he felt a disturbance behind him. He instinctively raised his blade, narrowly blocking a blow that would have all but incapacitated him. Kain striked at him with a fervor; Jonathan desperately tried to block each blow, but it was evident that Kain could see perfectly in his own fog blanket of blood. Although Jonathan was the better swordsman, so he was not in any real trouble yet...

...Until something slammed painfully into his back. Gasping in shock, Jonathan spun around to face the unknown attacker...

...Only to have Kain slice a long gash into his wings. Jonathan immediately covered up the wound with darkness, to prevent any of the blood gas from touching his wounded flesh. Sensing a blow coming from the right, Jonathan brought his sword up in a puncturing motion; he felt something wet and sticky splatter against his blade. Suddenly, an attack, from the left this time, hurled itself at Jonathan; just as he shot forth a bolt of darkness to counter, another attack came from above. Jonathan raised his blade up to block, but Kain saw that opening, and slammed a bolt of red energy into Jonathan's chest.

Coughing, Jonathan doubled over in pain. At that precise moment, dozens upon dozens of attacks rained upon him, ruthlessly battering at his protective coating of darkness on the skin. There was no way Kain could strike that fast, from that many angles at the same time... Then he understood where those attacks were coming from. They were the same red bats that Kain had formed out of his wings. It seemed that inside this mist of blood, Kain could form blood bats out of the red vapor, from literally anywhere that was filled by the gas. Jonathan tried to dodge, but the bats were everywhere; they had no blind spots, and there was nowhere they could not reach.

How could Kain be this powerful? Jonathan thought to himself, while he thickened his barrier of darkness to block the barrage of blows. He doesn't even have enough blood in his body to maintain this mist in the first place!

Then, suddenly, Jonathan realized something. Kain is the son of Incarnate. He is using his False God powers against me! Jonathan ground his teeth in rage. He had hoped to fight Kain fair and square, by not using his Master powers against the vampire; but now Kain was using his False God powers to try to overwhelm Jonathan, Jonathan had no choice.

Reaching deep into his consciousness, Jonathan began to draw forth the power of Bloodshadow, Master of Darkness...

Jonathan was not moving. Had he collapsed under the pressure of Kain's attacks? Kain could not care less. Sadistic glee etched itself onto his face, as Kain prepared the final blow that would incapacitate his rival, and claim his superiority over that insolent halfling.

Suddenly, the world around Kain exploded. Darkness, pitch darkness, filled every corner of existence, and the redness of his Blood Veil was simply pushed aside and absorbed into nothingness. Kain clutched his head and screamed in silent agony, his sword dropping onto the obsidian floor. Then, as soon as it had began, the darkness vanished. Kain could see again, but his Blood Veil had vanished without a trace.

Jonathan stood before Kain. Immediately, Kain could see that thing on Jonathan's face. An obsidian mask resembling a demonic dragon, it concealed Jonathan's features, leaving only his eyes exposed. His eyes were different; they were still the same red, but they were so cold and terrifying that they made Kain shudder. And on Jonathan's masked forehead, in a vertical slit just above and between his two eyes, was a third eye; it was as red as freshly spilled blood, and the patterns of the Mark of Darkness could be faintly seen in its abyssal depths.

"Did you really think you could defeat me, Kain"? Jonathan laughed coldly. "I possess powers you could not even imagine in eons." When he opened the fanged mouth piece of his mask to speak, sanguine fire leaked between his jaws; his voice seemed to echo in every shadow.

Uncontrollable rage boiled in Kain. That damned halfblood! He was always better than me, always one step ahead of me! Always! As hate and spite surged up within him, Kain gathered his powers. His red wings dissolved into blood, as did his armor. The blood and crimson energy danced around him, gradually concentrating themselves into a single elongated spike of power. Kain pumped everything inside him into that one attack, leaving himself hollow and weakened. As the long pike of blood pulsed and glowed with power, Kain unleashed that attack onto Jonathan with full force. "TAKE THIS, JONATHAN HAEMOS SHADE!" Kain shrieked.

Watching the gigantic spike of blood hurling toward his heart, Jonathan merely laughed. Not even bothering to raise his blade, Jonathan held his hand in front of him. The center of his palm glowed and rippled, forming into a miniature abyss. A wave of terrifying dark power erupted from that hand, and engulfed the red spike of blood.

"Dark Gate."

Kain watched in pure horror, as his attack was being absorbed by Jonathan's hand. That attack contained every ounce of energy he had, and yet... Jonathan had absorbed it with a casual flick of his hand. Utter despair claimed him, and Kain fell powerlessly onto his knees, his face lowered in defeat.

"You lose, Kain," Jonathan said as the demonic mask cracked and broke into pieces, fading into the darkness.

Sitting on his opulent ebony throne, Incarnate's eyes were wide with shock. Not just his two regular eyes; the barely visible vertical slit on his forehead was open, revealing a crimson eye with black sclera, identical to the Eye of Darkness. Incarnate trembled, as his third eye came alive with power, recognizing its previous master.

Xanriel chuckles at the comment of unyielding water, but thinks better than to comment, watching Jonathan's fight in shock. He was almost afraid for a moment that Jonathan might have been dead. So much so that he had summoned up his most powerful healing spell, and was now feeling the effects of holding such a powerful spell without casting it. Releasing the spell and letting it dissipate, Xanriel collapsed to the ground, the Hope shield fading. His power drained, Xanriel simply couldn't hold his own body up. He lay on the ground, moaning in pain, as he manages to gasp out:
"I'm okay... I just need to rest..."

"Xanriel!" Sirenes shouts, quickly dropping to hr knees beside him. "Are you sure? I know a little bit of healing. It's not much, but..." Lifting his shoulders, she raises his torso a bit and rests his head in her lap, touching her hand to head and neck, checking him. But of course, he would have no vitals and an odd temperature. Frowning, she simply pets his head, looking out over Jonathan's battle. Thank goodness, he's alive.

Xanriel sighs with a smile, laying his head down in Sirenes' lap as he smiles weakly. "I'm afraid it'd just be a waste. You might help it along, but in the end it'd do you more harm then it would do me good. Thank you so much, you're so caring and considerate all the time," He says, reaching up to place his hand over yours, gripping it softly, "I admire that about you."

All she could do was smile down at him while she lightly caressed his face. "It is my fault that you're so weak... You were protecting me for so long." She know nothing of the healing spell he'd held onto for too long. Her fingers brush his hair out of his face so she could fully look at him, eyes flicking from one of his to the other as she stares in surprise. "Your eyes... they're two different colors" Her smile grows a bit larger. "And here I'd thought they couldn't get any more beautiful." Leaning down, she kisses his forehead.
