On my own, pretending he's beside me...

Max ran-hopped-skipped-flew along the tree line 'til he reached the borders of Darkness. Fluttering to a stop, he examined his northern destination. The slate-colored clouds that huddled between the mountains weren't heavy. They seemed almost enthusiastic and alive, more like black smoke billowing about the skyline. There was no horizon.

Isn't that lovely. Monochromatic black is waaay too overrated. There's something wrong with this picture. It feels cheerful but it all looks... unoriginal. I'd like to paint a duo-toned rainbow somewhere in that ridge overthere. Maybe something in claret and burgundy.

Demon-skin shivering, his haunches and shackles tensed up.  [ Anti-Rage ]

Looking at his brown on brown travelling cloak ensemble, the elf spoke out loud this time, "look who's complaining about monchromatic..."

He stepped into the rocky path where the grass stopped growing, disturbing colorless dust motes with each decisive stride. Umbrios, here I come.
 
Unnoticed by the elf, thorny vines started to creep along his path. It had no leaves and the flowers were very small, jasmine-scented and blood-red. These poisonous creatures weren't plants, and they seemed to make the dry land even drier.

@Optimalist: Neither of Jonathan's parents was a False God. How could he be a Halfblood (not the vampire insult term, but AI5)? Xanriel is one, Kain is one, but not Jonathan.

Maybe one of maX's parents is Dream Catcher or something? That FG uses Butterfly Effect.

OOC: Pansexual-curious? I didn't even know that was possible. Pansexual means you're interested in anyone you're attracted to, without care for gender, you're curious as to whether or not you're interested in people regardless of gender?

   Xanriel chuckles, shaking his head against Sirenes's struggles as he stares down at the small blood stain on his robe.
"Of course I'll teach you to fight. To defend yourself right?" He taps on his nose, sitting down next to her and manipulating the Motes so they create a sort of window, giving them a clear view of the battle between Jonathan and Kain.
"I'll train you in self defense, a great form of combat, but I won't teach you to kill. I've given up on killing."

OOC: Who knows, maybe you were adopted or something.  anyway, forget it. It was just a fleeting reactive thought when you mentioned it earlier.

Yes, I was thinking of Dream Catcher as it's really annoying when he gets that card up on the first 2 rounds = [autoquit]

InC: Flashback.

The village seemed totally chaotic. Even the way they were cleaning was a mess. He couldn't make up whether they were cleaning up after a big battle or a bigger festival. Some were quietly pensive, fixing broken doors. Some were cheerfully collecting debris from households that were either closed or empty. Some even looked like they were looting, but they were all just cleaning up. He heard an old lady singing a mournful song, but her face reveals a gleam of joy.

It didn't take long for maX to learn of the glorious battle that doomed a False God. An entropic False God no less. He can feel the remnants of the great energies that flowed and still ebbed from the ground and the air itself and even from the people themselves. It won't be a surprise to find an interesting variety of children in this village's next generation. The entropy in this part of the world is so strong, he wouldn't have to use his own magic to feed his addiction for a long time if he decided to settle down in this town.

[Sirenes]

[OOC] Pansexual? There's a word for that? Neat o.o

"Of course to defend myself. I don't like fighting at all much less killing, but I would feel much better if I knew I could protect myself when I needed to. Or you, if need be. But I doubt that'll ever be necessary"  She chuckles, laying her head on his arm. "You must know many types of combat for as long as you've been alive."

I actually planned to have a character that is the offspring of TWO False Gods, maybe Chaos Lord and Destiny (assuming Destiny is female). I guess any offspring of either one or two FGs will be a Halfblood, because although they have FG powers, they don't have the Void in themselves.

BTW, how did the Masters all die originally? It should be after the FGs were created, because Bloodshadow was there to train Incarnate and gave him the Eye of Darkness. Maybe Zanz was having an ongoing battle of the Void, sealing away a little bit of it each time? Then after the final battle with the "main" part of the Void, all the Masters save for Sekhor and Mephisto sacrificed themselves?
If we do that, then I think we should have a "special" FG in which the "heart" of the Void was sealed into. Should it be Rainbow, or should we make up a new FG?

Rocks. Rocks... and more ROCKS! What a beautiful, precise and quite predictable landscape. BUT WAIT. He felt a movement from the sides. A subtle repositioning of the rubble. Without breaking a step he continued walking a little more alert.

He started to whistle. Time... I've been passing time watching traders go by...  All of my Life, lying on the sand watching sea birds fly....

Without warning, he did a cartwheel. [ Lycanthropy ] and a backflip without landing on the ground he flew a few inches from the ground facing back.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha he laughed and he laughed and flitted about the plantform and landed gently on a half open bud. "Imagine that, me getting my toushy all sweaty because of you sweet little thing... aren't you a pretty one..."  [Anti-matter]

"I think you just need a little company, don't you. These barren crags and crevices get a little lonely don't it? Maybe you'd like to keep me entertained and get some action out there?"

Here's my blood red rainbow for you Lord Incarnate. A feast wouldn't be a feast without some floral arrangements, wouldn't it? In a lighter mood, mAx remained as an unidentifiable bug on the moving shrub that seemed to move ten times faster towards the mountains.

who's mephisto?

Pansexuality is based on aesthetic attraction, it is without regard for gender or biological sex. Some pansexual people also consider themselves gender neutral. Species and race are not on the list of things Pansexual's ignore.

I know that Sekhor, as far as he's concerned, is the only living member of the original Masters. That he fought a great battle, and that it was not something he wanted to take part in. If there was a sacrifice, then he certainly /chose/ not to. Probably ran from it. Might explain why there's still some Void left over.

Xanriel chuckles, putting his arm around Sirenes as he watches Jonathan, ready to heal him if the need arose.
"Maybe one or two. As Judgement, I needed to know how to defend myself against any form of combat, any attack an enemy might make. I can think of three excellent fighting styles for you, all you'd have to do is chose."

[Sirenes]

Her eye roll up to look at him in her position. "I have to chose now? Damn... Not somethin' I'm good at." She chuckles "What are they? If I get some examples now I might be able to make a choice by the time I need to."

Species and race are not on the list of things Pansexual's ignore.

OOC: In the real world, that's right because technically we only have 1 race. And, if we veer away from the species it's called bestiality. Anyway, mAx's predilections are minor. I wanted him gay mainly so I can make him more believably flamboyant in his butterfly state. In stark contrast to the toned-down elf he presents to the outside world. It's a mystery even to me if he contains more than 1 persona in his psyche and/or spirit. For now, I just play it as 2 different facets of his moody personality.

"Hmm... maybe not. It would've been nice to have someone else to talk to. I mean, only Dream Catcher would know the internal arguments I have inside my head... But, it would be quite refreshing to hear a different opinion from a different perspective every now and then."

Oh well... and least, I don't have to walk or fly myself up this treacherous mountain. This wonderful plant-thing sure knows a lot of shortcuts up the ridge instead of the beaten roads.

"Aha! I knew it. Although, we do have to work on your grammar honey. Do you have a name?"

That you are. Hmm... I think I want to call you Dexter. Okay?

"Okay then! So Dexter, let's get a move on. We don't want to miss the party at Club Orbius."

who's mephisto?

Mephistopheles, the original Master of Death, and the one who turned Faustus into the uber zombie and then got absorbed into him.

Mephisto didn't die because, well, he's the Master of Death. Unlike Sekhor, who had true immortality, Mephisto had been cheating death for a really, really long time. Probably by taking over other bodies (get the Naruto reference? Orochimaru XD), which was what he tried to do with Faust. But that time he was way too weak, and Faust had an exceptionally strong will, so Mephisto got absorbed into Faust.

As for how Faust is the reincarnation of the Death Master... Maybe when Mephisto made that sacrifice, a part of him died and reincarnated. The other part tried to cheat death by taking over other bodies. When the two parts met, they naturally merged back together. I dunno...

Wait a sec. By that logic... Why did Zanthos die in the first place? He's the Master of Life. Maybe he sacrificed all his life force?
And by that logic, Heimdall should be beyond death... Oh yeah, I did plan that for him; I suggested that Heimdall could meet the consciousness of the Aether Master inside the Aether realm, and then get his powers; Icy said yes to that suggestion.

So before the story, the Masters of were still alive, to some extent...

I thought you said Sekhor hadn't died because he was immortal. Also, I don't want one of the Masters to be selfish, if possible. If you really want to make him selfish, then fine...

And I don't think there is some Void left over, because all of it was sealed into FGs. That's why no one had heard about Void in a gazillion years. When Chaos Lord died, it was the first release of Void since eons ago.

@Optimalist: So MaX is really the son of Dream Catcher? Is Dream Catcher male or female?

And is that the only reason why you want MAX to be gay? He doesn't have to be gay to be flamboyant.

And how big is the butterfly?

   Xanriel summons five motes out of the shield. Two becoming three pronged daggers, two becoming boards with perpendicular handles, and the fifth becoming a spear. He takes ahold of the first two, the handles sliding into his hands.

"These are known as Sis. A Si is used to disarm your opponent, and has some mild offensive capabilities. You use the second and third prongs to divert attacks."
As he concentrates, the spear-mote comes flying toward him, his eyes closed. Side stepping, the spear flies past him, he brings up Sis, the blades coming up around the shaft of the spear and turning, sending the spear flying against the shield, shattering and reforming into a Mote.

   The Sis dissipate and become Motes again while the other two weapons float into his hands. "These are called Tonfas. They are used for sundering. Breaking things, whether it is your enemies weapons, or his limbs. You bring them out like this." Xanriel swings his arm out, the shaft of the weapon swinging in an arc around the point of the handle while it was in his hand. Next, he swings it back in with a small arc, then brings both out together, the hafts hitting eachother in a loud crack as the Motes dissipate and join the shield.

   "Finally, there's Akido. It's a form of martial art that's all about using your opponents weight against him. This fighting style was actually invented by an elderly woman to protect herself from muggers. You wait until the perfect moment when your opponent strikes, and then you attack, shifting their weight and letting it throw them off their step, allowing you to knock them down."

OOC:

That's why he's still alive, but he certainly wouldn't have sacrificed himself to save the world. It's not that he's selfish, it's that he wasn't supposed to be the Master of Time in the first place, his father was. After he had to take the role, he didn't want to play it. He still feels that way. All he wants to do is be a great Sword Dancer, he doesn't care about the rest of the world.

Also, what's your big kick about him being gay? He decided to be Pansexual instead anyway, but he can be whatever he wants. Gay, Bi, Pansexual, Omnisexual, or even a sex crazed mutant who has a thing for trees.

As for the Void thing, I just thought there was some left open, apparently I was mistaken, sorry. Either way, it explains something or another.


Wait, when did Zanthos die? Did I miss that?
