OOC: It's fine. The mutant took too long, anyways.
InC:
Heimdall understood Bloodshadow's words. The Psionic Wave was only temporary. Heimdall concentrated upon his own mind and found that the barriers restricting him from executing mental attacks was wearing. The moment it wore down completely, Heimdall drew forth the power and flung it straight at the Fallen Elf. Opening his eyes, the Fallen Elf was a smoldering pile of dust.
The adventurers looked at each other. The entire town was destroyed, but the fight was far from over. "How long has it been?" panted Heimdall.
"We still have about 2 hours," replied Ragen.
"Then we will have to hurry," said Heimdall. "To the Chaos Gate."
Just then, Xanriel appeared behind them. He appeared to have healed himself. "Ah, alive, I see," he said strangely, as if he was half-asleep.
"Yes, we are alive," said Zanthos. "Would you mind healing us?"
Xanriel tottered over to him. "Why, yes, yes I do, but here's one for you and you and you!" Xanriel chuckled as he healed the entire party.
Heimdall shook his head, but they had no time to question the sanity of Xanriel. "We need to get to the Chaos Gate!" he said. "We don't have that much time."
The party ran away from the detested city, past the strange Entropic hills where Zanthos and Heimdall had found the Maxwell's Demon a while ago.
Sirenes closed her eyes suddenly. "Water," she said. "The sea is near."
"I sense it too," said Heimdall. "Due south."
The party continued running south, never stopping to rest. Xanriel and Jonathan flew on the currents above the other party members. Dorfl's loping stride and Zantho's quick-footed running kept abreast of Heimdall's fleet running assisted by psychokinesis. Ragen and Sirenes hurried behind the party.
Finally, the party saw water in the distance. "The sea!" cried out Heimdall. But as they approached the shore, Heimdall knew something was wrong.
The water he saw was exactly like the sea he saw in his nightmare - a shifting canvas that was never the same twice. He looked far ahead, seeing five islands. Four of them were very large, and a very small one - it couldn't have been larger than the city that they had just been in - was right in the center of it. The entire place glowed with an eerie pink and purple.
Chaos Gate, thought Heimdall.
"How are we going to get across?" said Zanthos.
Heimdall looked at the water. "Who here knows how to swim?"
"I do," said Sirenes, but no one else.
"Sirenes and I will take to the water. Xanriel and Jonathan can fly. Zanthos, Dorfl, and Ragen..."
Dorfl suddenly shook violently and disappeared in a soothing blue light. When he reappeared, he was larger and the surface of his skin was a translucent watery blue. "I can swim," said Dorfl with a tight smile. "And I can carry Ragen with me."
