A Nymph, thought Heimdall. He reflected back onto the time when he stared into the bottle of Nymph's Tears, sensing an amorphous yet infinitely powerful life force within. We still have yet to discover all the secrets our world contains, said Heimdall to himself. One day, when he would be welcomed back into the Ulitharid community, he knew a life of traveling and discovering would be his dream. Knowledge is my quest, thought Heimdall.
Heimdall slept in an upper story room that night. He dreamed, as always, but this dream was a premonition. In his mind, he saw a town covered in shadow. The town was incredibly detailed, with houses and marketplaces clearly visible. Then, as Heimdall walked around the scene that was in his dream, he realized that this was the town he was currently residing in. He wandered around in awe, but he knew that something was amiss. The feeling in the air wasn't right; he could sense something bizarre all around him, but he did not know what.
Then, it happened. With the suddenness and vastness of a descending dragon, the entire town was smothered with darkness, as if it could not have possibly gotten any darker. Heimdall gasped. He heard a great roar as a thousand figures converged upon the town. They were sickly and pale, with wicked spears and gleaming teeth. They barbarously charged into the town, destroying everything that came upon their path. And in the midst of all of them was a tall, dark figure. They utterly destroyed the defenseless town, and as Heimdall caught a glimpse of the two gaping abysses that were the eyes of the tall figure, he woke up with a start.
He could not tell the difference between day and night, but he woke up nevertheless. "You're a heavy sleeper," noted Xanriel.
"I had... a nightmare," said Heimdall. "And to Ulitharids, nightmares are never any good."
"Really?" said Zanthos, interested. "A nightmare?"
"Yes," said Heimdall. "An army descending upon this very town. It could have been nothing, but..."
"But?" demanded Dorfl.
"But... Ulitharid dreams... are unique," forced out Heimdall.
Just then, Nyxia and Jonathan entered the house. "Why don't you explore the town for a while?" suggested Jonathan.
"Seems like a good idea," said Heimdall, distracted. His nightmare had disturbed him, and he had to clear his mind. Heimdall, Dorfl, Zanthos, and Ragen followed Heimdall as he left the house, catching a glimpse of the Kingdom of Darkness.
