OOC: I decided to become a half fallen elf after all. Perhaps Xanriel fights the Fallen Druid, I fight a Fallen Elf version of myself, and then we all team up to take on Chaos Lord? He's too strong at first, then I can become the temporary Master of Life. I can get the head to bring back, and all is well. AS for right now, maybe Heimdall finds me communicating with a Maxwell's demon?

Editing in progress!

When Zanthos awoke from his long spell of unconsciousness, he found himself tied to a horizontal slab of rock. All around him, he saw fleeting images of shadowy figures that seemed to be intoning a strange chant. They spoke together with one voice, and the mysterious chant, ever-changing, flowed around Zanthos, drawing the Chaos which had been injected into him further in. It began to bond with his body, slowly but surely transforming him into a Fallen Elf. Zanthos struggled, his hair dying and turning brown-yellow. He felt the Life Force within him diminish, being replaced by the growing powers of Entropy now taking over his body. Zanthos, realizing what was happening, shouted, "No!" He struggled against his bonds, then, realizing that it was futile, he concentrated on stopping the internal invasion of the Entropic Forces. As he called for all the remaining Life Force in him, the Entropic Force began to recede as the Life within him fought against it. However, it was not enough. The Entropic force still remained wild, in perhaps a full half of his being, and his struggle stopped. Zanthos realized that, for now, he would have to remain a part Entropy, and the life force remained reluctantly at peace with the Entropic Forces. "After all, he reasoned, "maybe I could harness its forces to help me. I just have to make sure it doesn't fully take over." His path decided, his will now strong, he forced himself to open his eyes. He was now alone in the wilderness of the Entropic Shores. Nowhere could he see anything that resembled the mysterious cave where he had been partly transformed into a Fallen Elf. The forms that had been chanting seemed to have left him to finish transforming on his won. "Well, I'll show them later they shouldn't have left me. Now I am only part-Entropic." He started to walk, the Entropy inside him randomly choosing a direction. He wandered into the ever-changing hills of the chaotic landscape.

After some time had passed, Zanthos found himself still rambling among the hills. Then, far in the distance, he saw a vaguely defined shape. "Maybe that's someone that can help me!" Zanthos sprinted toward the shape, its form becoming clearer and clearer until -- "Or something," he thought disgustedly. What he had thought could be a creature that could help, what he saw now was a Maxwell's Demon, know for their ability to destroy large objects, and theirinability to talk. Zanthos began to walk away, trying to find someone else to talk to, when he realized that he was part Entropy. "Hmmm... Maybe I can communicate with it." Zanthos turned and walked back to the small imitation of a Demon. Just like he did with Heimdall and the forest creatures, he concentrated his thoughts into a clear message. "Can you understand me?"

OOC: still editing, but any suggestions for how the Demon should "speak?" With lots of "sssss," or what?

and I will be afk until (most likely) after lunch. I may get a quick post in before that though.

{OOC} Well..  dunno. My suggestion is more something that can be heard than seen. Perhaps a lot of "hmmms" and extended letters and rasping. A voice that feels like a tremor in the mind?

OOC: Just like the Cheshire Cat does, riddling and rambling. :)

InC:

Heimdall sprinted out of the town. He knew he would have to find a Maxwell's Demon in order to bring down the gigantic Mutant that their fellow adventurers faced. It was still growing larger, and Heimdall knew he would have to do something fast. He ran from the town, spreading his mind open wide in search of life forms. Strangely, he found no sentient life forms for about a mile around save the adventurers and the Mutant behind him. The Fallen Elves must've moved from this area, Heimdall thought. Then he detected two minds to the northeast of their location, and Heimdall sprinted towards them. They were about a mile off, but powered by psychokinesis, Heimdall was there in about 5 minutes.

Around him, he saw rolling hills and strange, twisted trees. He could not see anything past the trees, but he detected two sentient creatures. He cautiously entered a clearing between the trees...

OOC: Obviously, he is meeting Zanthos and the Demon. :) Just in case someone didn't notice.

While Heimdall searched for some way to stop the dragon, Jon, Ragen and Dorfl kept it busy with their own efforts.

Ragen climbed around the giant creatures body, using his strength to pull him around as he attacked, punching cracks in the large reptile's scales then quickly moved to the next spot.

Dorfl had grown exceptionally large, fighting the dragon on it's own scale. He grabbed it by it's neck and fought the wrestle it down.

Jonathan continued his efforts against the the drakes that were still forming from chunks of removed scale, his wing tentacles cutting them down just as quickly as they appeared.

"Maybe I can, maybe I can't." The reply suddenly appeared in Zanthos's mind. Obviously, this particular Maxwell's Demon was either not very smart, or just horrible at talking in riddles.1 Undeterred by the Demon's bad attempt at confusing him, Zanthos continued, "Could you tell me where the nearest town is?"
"Maybe I can, maybe I can't."
replied the Cheshire Cat Demon once more.
Zanthos, getting slightly annoyed at getting the same answer, pressed on. "Please tell me the way to the nearest town."
"I will most likely, or maybe not, perhaps possibly tell you the way if you answer 3 riddles all correctly."
"Very well then, what are the riddles?" Zanthos, even more annoyed now at the amount of time this was taking, asked.

OOC: Try and solve the riddles first. I'll then continue after all three.

1. If there are 3 cups of sugar and you take away one, how many do you have after?

2. If it has a one-quart capacity, how many pennies can you put into an empty piggy bank?

3. What 3 things have a mouth but cannot chew?

-- 4

-- 6

-- 8

-- 10

-- 12

-- 14

-- 16

-- 18

-- 20

-- 22

-- 24

-- 26

-- 30
"Here is the first, an easy one: There are 3 cups of sugar. You take away one. How many do you have now?"
"Hah! That one is easy, Demon. You have only one cup of sugar, the one that you took away."
Very well then, strange elf. On to the harder ones. If it has a one-quart capacity, how many pennies can you put into an empty jar?"
"That one is pretty easy, too! The answer is once again one, as after the one penny is put in, the jar would not be empty."
Impressive... Now, the last one: What 3 naturally formed things have mouths but cannot chew, talk, or drink?"
Zanthos paused for a moment. The previous two had been easy; he had heard many variations of them in his childhood. But this last one... he didn't know. A river, that was one. He had often played in the mouth of the Great River as a child. He began to smile while reminiscing, but realized he still needed two others. Thinking, he saw that maybe the land itself could help him. He extended a silent plea to the natural things in the forest. Slowly, the replies trickled in. Not I, said the tree. Not I, said the grass.

"Well? What is the answer, elf? You have 30 seconds to answer." The Demon said.

Getting desperate, Zanthos called on all the land on the continent. He quickly scanned through the replies. Then, he saw it. I. It was the volcano! Of course! Still aware that he was running out of time, Zanthos continued his sifting. Finally, he saw the last one. It was a cave in the Earthen Mountains. Zanthos swiftly reorganized his thoughts and formed a concrete answer. "The three things are the river, the cave, and the volcano."

"Masterfully accomplished, O Wise One. I shall now lead you to the nearest city."

The Maxwell's Demon led on and Zanthos followed close behind, scared to fall behind in the ever-changing landscape.

OK! All done.

I want to add some background information about the Maxwell's Demons:

They were created by a human scientist and alchemist named Maxwell (James Clerk Maxwell), who imbued Entropic energies into the bodies of demonic imps. Those imps became the Maxwell's Demons, and they have the strange ability named Paradox. It is an ability that turns ones own attack against itself; so fighting a being with the Paradox ability, your own defense must be stronger than your attack, or you will be annihilated by your own strength.

Oh, and don't forget this: Just before the mutant dragon is killed, it suddenly uses Hatch to turn into something else... You guys can decide what, as I'm out of ideas now.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

...nobody? OK, I'll just have the Maxwell's Demon kill the mutant dragon.

And then we all need to somehow get to the islands of Chaos Gate.

Jonathan and Xanriel can fly.
Heimdall and Sirenes can swim.
Dorfl could probably transform himself to some Water Golem to swim or Air Golem to fly.
Ragen... I dunno, Dorfl is probably big enough to carry one person.

That leaves you, Zanthos.

You can generate Life creatures, but the only flying Life creature that's big enough to carry you is Emerald Dragon. And I don't think there is enough Life around us right now that you can generate an Emerald Dragon.

So now might be a chance to try out your new mutation ability, eh? And start the process of slowly being eaten alive by the Entropy inside you, until you fight your Fallen self in Chaos Gate and master that power.

Editing in progress.

"Soul Harvest! Hell's Crescent! Heartpierce!"

Jonathan unleashed attack after attack after attack, as he hacked and slashed and stabbed at the mutant Amethyst Dragon, which was still growing larger by the second. But all his attacks did nothing but breaking off pieces of its scale, which only generated more small amethyst drakes.

He considered going into True Form. In his True Form as the Master of Darkness, Jonathan could easily overwhelm this mutant dragon no matter how many powerful abilities it had; but if he was to take True Form, extreme fatigue would claim him afterwards, leaving him no strength for the fights that were surely to come at Chaos Gate.

Then, the answer came to him. Maybe he could mutate this dragon into something else. Jonathan's blade only gained Entropic powers temporarily due to the absorption of enhanced Abomination blood, so any mutations done by the sword would not be as powerful as the masterpiece crafted by the Fallen Druid. If he can succeed in turning the mutant dragon into something less powerful, maybe they could kill it more easily.

Jonathan concentrated the chaotic powers in his Vampire Gladius. They seeped out of the obsidian blade and concentrated into a ball of twisting violet energy at the tip, with black lightning of darkness crackling around it. All the energies of Entropy drained out of his sword, and the blade slowly reverted back to normal. Holding a sphere of Entropy and Darkness at the tip of his blade, Jonathan silently prepared his spell.

"Shadow Metamorph!"

Jonathan swung his blade at the dragon, sending the sphere of concentrated Darkness and Entropy at the mutant beast. Not intelligent enough to decipher what was edible and what was not, the dragon opened its vicious jaws and swallowed the ball of twisted energy in one gulp. Jonathan smiled in triumph.

As Jonathan predicted, the dragon started to howl in pain an instant after it swallowed the sphere of Entropy. Its eyes started to glaze over as its body rippled, slowly transforming into something less. If this was successful, then that Maxwell's Demon might not be necessary after all.

Suddenly, the amethyst scales of the mutating dragon began to crack like eggshell, as violet lights leaked out. "What?" Jonathan gasped in shock, as the dragon started to break apart. "Hatch?!"

Hatch was the ability possessed by the mysterious Fate Eggs in the Desert of Time. Those eggs, when hatched, could turn into any creature that existed in the lands of Elements. But Jonathan had heard that some mutants also possessed the Hatch ability, turning themselves into completely newer and stronger creatures and healing all injuries.

The gigantic body of the Amethyst Dragon suddenly burst open. The scales crumbled to amethyst shards, while chaotic and swirling violet energies gushed out. When the energy had dissipated, a single Fallen Elf stood in the center of the violet maelstrom, the same one that survived Dorfl's massive lightning attack. But this was no ordinary Fallen Elf, as he was a powerful mutant that was spawned out of the body of the mutant Amethyst Dragon.

Not wanting to know what terrible abilities this mutant Fallen Elf had in store, Jonathan rushed forward in a vicious slash. "Blood Blade!"

The Fallen Elf smiled. Holding his arms out, he welcomed the blood-red wave of dark energy with an embrace. The energy struck him hard. But instead of being cleaved in half, the Fallen Elf somehow absorbed that attack into himself. The mutant elf glowed with violet light, and the harmful energy dissipated out of him.

The Fallen Elf raised his head, and out of his back sprouted a pair of butterfly wings made of iridescent violet energy. Soaring into the sky at Jonathan, the mutant elf held out his hand. A bolt of violet chaotic power burst out of the elf's outstretched hand, and at abnormally fast speed it struck Jonathan fully on the chest before he even had time to react.

Jonathan doubled over and spat blood. He felt as though every single bone in his body was broken and crushed. If he had been any weaker, he would have been blown to bits. Snarling, he summoned his regenerative powers in full force, releasing the blood and life force that he had stored in his body from the feedings of the past days. He felt his bones mend and his wounds close. Although he was healed, Jonathan knew that he could not keep this up for long.

Finished.

Just in case you guys are wondering, this new mutant Fallen Elf has three abilities: Dissipation, using :entropy to absorb damage; Destroy, only it works on creatures (Jonathan got nearly destroyed); and Deja Vu.
Just before we kill him, he uses Deja Vu and creates a copy of himself with entirely different abilities. The new one will have Ablaze and Rage, so he'll have insanely high attack but extremely low defense. He starts to mow down the party members, before Heimdall and Zanthos arrive with the Maxwell's Demon and destroys the mutant Fallen Elf in one second.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

From somewhere behind a large pile of rubble there is a loud, high voiced grunt. Suddenly there was a spike of ice the size of a small child hurling itself at the altered elf, hovering in the air on wings of entropy. The elf turns at the sound of Sirenes's voice and the ice impales him through the chest. The elf yells in pain front the shock of being hit so suddenly. Sirenes watches, waiting for the elf to fall from the sky.

Laughter echoes through the ruined city. The elf, unphased by her efforts, begins to absorb the ice into himself. Inch, by inch it passes into his body until nothing was left to show.

"...Hell" She groans.

Heimdall peered through the clearing. What he saw shocked him.

"Zanthos?" he said.

"Heimdall!" said the Elf.

"You look... different..." said Heimdall.

"The Fallen ones got me, damn them," hissed Zanthos. "I'm part Entropy now."

"No matter," said Heimdall. "We've got to find a-"

Then, he looked at the form that was next to Heimdall. It looked like a warped imp, with a bulbous head, pink skin, and two small wings. Heimdall sensed that it had an unusually intelligent mind.

Why, hello, communicated Heimdall.

Am I the one you seek, Ulitharid? Or am I just another shadow passing in a world of shadows? the Demon stared up at Heimdall with twinkling eyes.

You are a Maxwell's Demon, I presume?

At this present time and moment, you are correct. But anything can happen, can't it?

"Very well," said Heimdall aloud. "We need to get back to the town, fast!"

Zanthos and Heimdall ran with speed back towards the town. The demon hopped and flapped its wings, surprisingly fast on its awkward form. It led the two back to the town where the adventurers were.

Heimdall was surprised to see not the Amethyst Dragon, but a Fallen Elf. He watched as Dorfl attempted to pound the Elf to the ground. The Elf redirected Dorfl's hand, transferring all of the kinetic energy of the blow into pure quanta energy. The Elf stored the quanta energy within himself and raised an arm. Dorfl shattered into pieces, but because he was a Lava Golem, he quickly reassembled himself.

"Go, Demon! Do your work!" shouted Heimdall as Zanthos and the Demon rushed into the city.

Ah... so many precious holders of destruction... who to choose, who to choose...

The Mutation! cried Heimdall. Don't you dare touch my friends!

Very well, thought the Demon. I was never too fond of Mutations. The Demon suddenly opened its mouth.

Suddenly, everything changed. The rubble in front of the Demon turned into flowers, books, rocks, and other strange items. Heimdall watched in curiosity as the Demon sent out coalescing purple beams at the Elf. The Elf attempted to sidestep the beams and dissipate it like he did to Dorfl's attack, but this was no ordinary assault. The beams floated around the Elf's body, encircling him in strange glowing rings. The Elf did not understand what was happening, and he could not get rid of the purple rings, but it did not seem as if the rings did any harm.

Just then, the Demon flapped its wings once. The purple rings expanded upwards and outwards, bathing the Elf in a purple sphere. The silhouette of the Elf could be seen within the sphere, and something strange happened. It may have been a trick of the light, but for a split second, Heimdall thought he saw 2 Elves within the Paradox attack. Then, one of the Elves disappeared, melding into the shadows, as the sphere of purple energy expanded outwards.

In a brilliant flash of purple light that left all blinded and on the floor except the Maxwell's Demon, the sphere exploded outwards and disappeared. Heimdall reopened his eyes to see a smoldering crater right in the center of the town. The Fallen Elf was nowhere to be seen.

And then, Heimdall saw it rise from the ground. Ragen cursed loudly. "How did you survive?!"

The Demon hissed. It did not survive, but when one became two and the one departed, the other one stayed.

What? thought Heimdall. Then, he knew. Deja Vu. The Elf had replicated himself moments before being destroyed. A new elf stood in the crater, its eyes shimmering with malice. Suddenly, the Elf leapt into the air and sprouted wings. It flew with abnormal speed towards the Demon and its terrible mouth opened wide. The Demon simply stared up at the Elf as it dove downwards and swallowed the Demon whole.

Heimdall turned around and launched a piece of rubble at the Elf, who dodged it by flapping into the air. Then, the Elf lifted an arm. Heimdall waited... and realized that nothing had happened. "You fool! That achieved nothing!" he called out, launching a mental attack at the Elf.

But no mental attack came.

Uh oh, thought Heimdall. Curse that Elf, he just used my own ability against me! The Elf had mutated the Mind Flay ability and had removed the ability for Heimdall to launch mental attacks. Heimdall knew that he would recover his skills, but not for a while. He ran backwards, crying out, "Watch out! Don't get hit by his Mind Flay attacks!"

The Deja Vu'd mutation has Dive, Devour, and Psionic Wave, which removes a skill.

WHAT? It steals abilities now? That is the biggest load of crawler fodder I have ever seen! It seemed they could win for nothing. Never, had she heard of such an unfair fight. Sirenes creeps around the city, slowly making her way toward Heimdall and Zanthos. She steps out from behind them. "Sounds like the only choice is to pound him into dust."

The blasted Fallen Elf attempted to remove another one of Heimdall's abilities, but this time, he shielded his mind. You're not going to steal my psychokinesis or Confusion Wave, you little bugger, thought Heimdall as he plated his mind with armor.

"It doesn't steal abilities - it removes them," explained Heimdall. "And yes, we WILL pound it to dust."

The Elf rose into the air, its translucent purple wings beating. Its eyes scanned the figures in front of it - Zanthos, Sirenes, and Heimdall. Zanthos let loose three arrows, but the Elf looped and swerved, avoiding all of them. Ragen and Dorfl, creeping up from behind them, took the initiative and leapt upwards. Dorfl pounded down upon one of its wings and it shrieked in pain; Ragen smashed it on the head with his mace. The Elf cried out in pain and flapped its wings awkwardly, attempting to escape.

"Go!" shouted Zanthos, who created a Quetzal - a brilliant emerald bird with a wicked beak - and sent it towards the Elf.

"No!" cried Heimdall, but it was too late. The Elf dove towards the Quetzal and swallowed it whole, becoming all the more stronger.

"Oops," said Zanthos.

Jonathan materialized from the shadows behind the Elf and raised an arm. The Elf alighted onto the ground, too injured to fly, and watched as Jonathan struggled to cast a bolt of dark energy.

Curse that Elf, he's removed Jonathan's skill! Meanwhile, Dorfl and Ragen again attempted to beat down the Elf, but it was too fast, weaving back and forth even in its injured state. It slammed against Dorfl, causing bits of rock to fall out, which it promptly ate, getting stronger all the while.

Editing in progress.

Jonathan tried to launch a bolt of darkness from his hand, but no dark energy would come. With horror, Jonathan realized that the mutant elf had robbed him of his ability of Shadow Blast. Then, the horror quickly turned into anger.

"How dare you, you lowly mutant!" Jonathan spat viciously at the Fallen Elf. "How dare you to rob a demon prince of his powers!"

Incapable of speech, the mutant twisted his mouth into a wicked grin. His jaws split and widened into abnormal sizes, as he dived toward Jonathan to devour him.

Filled with rage, Jonathan hurled his blade toward the mutant elf like a javelin. "Eat this, you filthy mutant scum!"

The elf devoured the blade with his jaws, then shrieked in agony as his blood was being sucked into the blade. He tried to lobotomize the sword's blood-sucking ability, but the sword had no mind of its own and thus was immune.

Suddenly, Jonathan understood. The psionic wave did not remove his ability of Shadow Blast. It simply blocked the part of his mind that coordinated that ability. The blockage would eventually wear off, but right now Jonathan could not afford to wait. He quickly sent forth a telepathic message toward Heimdall about his realization.

Then, Jonathan called upon the mysterious powers of the nymph blood that he drank from Nyxia, the Black Nymph. Feeling that power permeating his body and soothing his mind, Jonathan was delighted to sense that his powers were returning.

Gathering the power of Darkness in his hand, Jonathan launched a solid sphere of black energy at the struggling Fallen Elf. He couldn't dodge this time, because he was struggling to suppress the agony in his throat as his blood was being drained out of him by the Vampire Gladius. In the same instant, Dorfl launched a great ball of fire and lava, Zanthos let loose an armor-shattering arrow coated with venom, and Sirenes hurled forth a razor-sharp blade of ice. The mutant elf shrieked in terror, as the four blows made contact with his body, literally pounding him to dust.
