Heimdall sensed an extremely powerful force behind him, and, indeed, so did probably everyone else within a few miles of him. A force so powerful it sucked the very life from the ground he was beneath was very near him, and Heimdall realized that it was the flying spirit that had followed him here. He clung on to his own life force, concentrating upon it with his mind and anchoring it within his body. WHAT!? thought Heimdall. Who was this spirit who could do such a thing? Again, a backwards glance might be the end of him, so Heimdall chose to dive once more in the river. Fighting against a foe filled with that much energy was more or less suicide, but if he stayed in the water, he could perhaps survive this encounter. He sunk to the bottom of the river bed, tracking the motions of the powerful spirit with his mind and hoping to go undetected.

Xanriel strode forward confidently, an angel of life with the powerful Druidic staff. He had nothing to fear in these lands. He walked to the edge of the water and stared down through it, ignoring the water, he saw the Ulitharid perfectly. He called up the life force of the land for nourishment and waited patiently. Remembering the mans abilities, he tempted him, calling out to him with his mind, hoping the psionic man might hear.
<That /is/ you isn't it? The man from my shop...>
He pulled out the nymph's tears, dangling it above the water, hoping to call him back up.

Heimdall could not be tempted; years of survival and instinct had left him hardened. As he looked upwards on the powerful unfamiliar figure, one thing struck him - the face, although fuller, was the angel from the apothecary shop.
<Hello, Xanriel, the apothecary from the shop.> He replied with his mind confidently, though not without apprehension.
<I mean you no harm.> Heimdall floated upright, looking upwards, though not coming back out of the water. The nymph's tears were calling to him, and he knew it, but he did not yet know whether the spirit meant well or harm. Another thing that unnerved him was the fact that the spirit shrouded in dark shadows was still lying dormant behind them; he could spell trouble. Heimdall retracted his spikes; he would need to be as swift as possible if he wanted to escape through swimming.

<If you mean no harm, why did you grow those blades in the first place? Why are you summoning quanta?>
Xanriel dug into his pocket, grasped the 15
quanta than pulled it out, tossing it into the water.
<If you need Quanta, use your own. I have no need for it. Come up.>
Xanriel stood back from the water, opening his palms and unsummoning the staff, sending it back home to rest at it's temple. His wings fluffed out gently, than settled as he waited.

<All Ulitharids have blades, just like all Angels have wings. I developed my blades more fully because I need to survive.>
Heimdall gladly accepted the 15
. <I am summoning quanta because it helps keep me aware; my mind constantly needs a lot of energy.> Heimdall was still suspicious, but now that the angel's powerful staff was gone, he could at least hold his own if a fight were ever to occur. He gently rose up to the surface of the water and stepped onto the riverbank. "Hello once again," he said aloud. He could still sense the darkness spirit behind them, but he was not moving.

Xanriel smiled warmly, his hair blowing back in the wind than resting as he nodded his head.
"Hello indeed. I never did catch your name?" Xanriel extended his hand in an offering of peace. He did not wish to fight this man. He had not doubts that the fight would be grande, but he had left that life behind for a reason.

"Heimdall,", said Heimdall, shaking Xanriel's hand. If Xanriel had wanted to kill him, he would have done so long ago; Heimdall probably had nothing to worry about now. "Born and raised in these very waters." In a lower tone, he continued. "There is a spirit of darkness not far from where we are; he is watching us this very moment."

Xanriel nodded slowly, acknowledging the threat.
"Why yes, it is a rather dark day isn't it?" He said allowed, covering any suspicion of detection of the spirit. Xanriel tapped his nose lightly and jerked his head to the right, suggesting the move on.
"Come, the aetherlands await. Perhaps you will have more luck finding what you seek there."

Pirate: The shopkeeper only had an arctic dragon but it cost 20
quanta. For the entropic cards:
Mutation: The target turned into a mutant, abomination or died. Price:
Lyncantrope: The Lyncantrope gets bigger and more powerful at midnight but falls weak soon after midnight. Price:
Mutation Improved: The atrget turned into a mutant. Whatever would happen, the mutant would be at least strong. Price: 20
quanta "because it is so nicely upgraded" said the shopkeeper. (upgrading brings random bonus effects.)
Abomination: The Abomination is fairly big and strong but not very intelligent. Price:
.
That is it really because the shop was small. As you pick your cards, the shopkeeper says he has a job for you. "I need you to eliminate some of my aethenian enemies that have a market on the other side of the coast. I will pay you 15
quanta for thier heads." He hands you a picture of them. You don't think that the shopkeeper can be trusted. You see it in his face and hear it from his way of speaking. Will you accept the quest?

Verdelet purchased a Mutant and Lyncantrope. Pausing for a moment to consider the shop keepers offer Verdelet said "As much as I could use the extra quantum I have a rather pressing manner that needs to be taken care of first. I will see if the offer is still available after I have finished with my task." Verdelet said this knowing that he had no other task, but using the excuse so he could check in with these merchants that had come under fire. It wasn't that he had a problem removing innocent people it was just that it was more satisfying to punish those who deserve it. Handing over the 10
Verdelet said "I shall return in a few weeks. Hopefully your offer will still remain. Good bye and good business to you." With that Verdelet left the store and headed for the Aethenian's place of business. After he was out of sight of the town he used his ability to boost his legs with his psychic powers and took off at a full sprint.

"Hah, 5 Ash Eaters. Easy to handle; plus, they're near a river and in Aether territory. MY territory." Heimdall grunts with confidence as he retracts his spikes defensively. He uses "Psychokinesis" on one, flinging it away. Immediately afterward, he launches a chain of mental attacks on the other four, Mind Flaying two of them and sending out Psionic Waves to the other two.
