ROUND 1 Rules:In Round 1, participants are matched up with each other randomly and they will play a Mastermind Head-to-Head game. First, all players create a secret code and send it to me in a PM (even if they sent one in before Round 0), then they try to figure out each other's codes. The codes are now on
HARD difficulty, so any 4-digit code can be used.
Mastermind Head-to-Head rules are just guidelines.
If both you and your opponent accept on a rule change, you can play with those new rules. Note that the game has to be equally challenging to both players.
General Rules: players have unlimited attempts to solve the opponent's code. However, to avoid the luck-factor a bit, participants should make a Zero-Attempt. This means that each player posts a half of a code to then put them together and create the Zero-Attempt code, which will show up on both players' boards. The half-codes should be posted in the respective game match thread.
Brackets: since there is an odd number of players, one player will get a bye. To don't leave him out of the fun,
a Sandbox will be opened where he is given the opportunity to play againt either the organizer or any other players he names. He can also decide to just skip Round 1.
From then on, Sandbox will be kept open for unofficial Mastermind Games, with any rules, for any players on the Forum. The winner of a normal match (not including the BYE-game) is the person who solved the code in less turns. The winner moves on to the next round, the loser, however, is eliminated from the tournament (but he can keep playing in Sandbox). If 2 players solve the code in equal attempts, none of them gets eliminated.
