More than ever before, the assembly was split over who to kill. Different factions voted for as many as 6 different candidates. During the night, when all were asleep, a few people rounded up everyone in the village except for one person: DanTheMan678. He was left to slumber, blissfully unaware of the sentiment against him that spread like a contagion through the small village. At the crack of dawn, DanTheMan678 was woken up by something incredibly unpleasant: smoke. He quickly ran down his steps and through the conspicuously open door of his abode to a clever trap; he was shackled as soon as he egressed. Noncompliant and hostile towards his attackers, DanTheMan678 struggled to free himself. He even succeeded once, though the insurrection was short lived as he was recaptured, and hurried ever faster towards the gallows. He continued to fight as he was thrust onto the platform that would mark his demise. He tried even to chew through the rope that was placed around his neck, but before he could gnaw through it at all it was firmly around his neck. Still struggling, he flailed around on the platform until it was released and his life had been ended.

DanTheMan678 was a civilian and a village idiot.

The new immigrants had been forced to prove themselves; one way was by helping the execution. They took major parts in it, such as the shackling of DanTheMan678 and the pulling of the lever. One of the immigrants, Terroking, was slow in his retreat from the gallows after having pulled the lethal lever himself. Overtaken by the tiring events of the days since he had entered the village, he was unready for what was about to happen. As the cloud of people was walking back to the village, Terroking at the rear, the ground began to swelter into a turmoil. The earthquake continued to grow, and a massive fissure violently and suddenly erupted in front of Terroking but behind everyone else. The group sprinted to the village, unaware that one of their ranks had been left behind. Terroking tried to bypass the fissure, but it continued to grow and was too wide to jump. Panicked, Terroking had nowhere to go; he could only continue to run as fast as he could parallel to the fissure in hopes that its end would be in sight. As he ran, a ghastly figure appeared in the horizon. With a large distance separating it from him, Terroking could not identify the specter and hoped it would be an ally - it did, after all, have the shape of a human. And Terroking was desperate. Unfortunately for him, as he got closer, the figure drifted towards him with immense speed. Realizing what it was, Terroking turned back in the opposite direction, but it was too late. The figure, with one wave of its hand, created a huge, eastern wind that swept Terroking into the abyss, never to be found again.

Terroking was a civilian and a mind flayer.
