Spoiler for How to Play Mafia:
All of the players in the game are collectively referred to as the Town. The Town is split into two factions. There is a minority faction, the Mafia, and a majority faction, also called Town. The Mafia start the game with the knowledge of who the other members are, and their goal is to kill all of the Town. The Town start the game not knowing who is Mafia and who is a fellow Town, and their goal is to kill all of the Mafia.

The game is split into two phases. It generally starts with a Night Phase, in which the Mafia choose one member of the Town to kill. This is called the Nightkill. Also, players may use abilities given to them by their roles during this phase. Following each Night Phase is the Day Phase. During the day, the Town may choose to lynch one player through the use of votes. Each player gets one vote, and the person with the most votes at the end of the day is lynched and removed from the game. This cycle continues until either all of the Mafia are dead, or the number of Mafia is equal to or greater than the number of Town at the beginning of a Day Phase. This is called reaching parity.

How to determine who is Mafia and who is Town is entirely up to the players. As a Mafia your job is to blend into the Town and direct lynches onto them without giving yourself away. As Town your job is to use logic, reason, tells, intuition, and any abilities you may have to determine who the Mafia are and lynch them. An inactive Town will easily fall prey to the Mafia, so try to generate as much information as possible. In the game of Mafia you have two main weapons; your voice and your vote. Use them wisely.

Medic - A role that has the ability to protect other players from the Nightkill
Shoot - Use an ability that would kill another player
Claim/Roleclaim - Say that you have a specific role
Soft/Softclaim - Hint that you have a specific role
Civvy Central - A group of confirmed Town
Scummy - Acting like a mafia
Towny - Acting like a town member
Town-Cred/Town Points - Factors that make it more likely that a player is town
Read - How scummy or towny you think someone is
AI/NAI - Alignment Indicative/Non-Alignment Indicative
Wagon/Train - A player that has multiple votes on them
FoS/Finger of Suspicion - Declare that you suspect someone without voting them
Tunnel - Having tunnel vision on a single player
Pocket/Buddy - Townread someone to get them on your side
Thunderdome - Confront someone so as to narrow the possible lynch to the two involved players
Self-Preservation - Vote on the biggest other wagon when you are a leading wagon, this is not a read-based vote unless stated
Hammer - Casting the final vote needed for a lynch
Bus - Throw a fellow mafia member under the bus to get town-cred
OMGUS - Oh My God, U Suck - Voting on someone just because they voted on you
CFD/Chinese Fire Drill - At EoD, pile votes onto someone who has little to no votes
Breadcrumb - Give hints to your role or actions in a post that you can call back on to give credibility to your claim
Breadpost - Shitpost
EV - Expected Value
EoD/End of Day - The last hours before the end of the day phase
PoE/Process of Elimination - Rank the lynch priority of the remaining players to give the best chance of lynching mafia sooner. Goes from low to high priority.
Deep Wolf - A mafia high on the PoE.
Powerwolf - A mafia that openly influences the direction of the game.
LyLo/Lynch or Lose - Town must lynch correctly or they lose
MyLo/Mislynch and Lose - If town mislynches they lose, but if they No Lynch the game continues
EBWOP - Edit By Way Of Post - Making another post with changes instead of editing a previous one
RQS - Random Question Stage, a common way to start games where one player puts forth a survey of questions for every player to answer
WIFOM - Wine In Front Of Me - The dilemma that arises from trying to predict whether someone has made an optimal but expected choice, or a suboptimal but unexpected one

General Mafia Rules

1. Do not post, chat, OR PM ANY revealing information if you have been killed/removed from this mafia.
You are allowed one death post that contains no information or commentary about the players.
2. You are not allowed to edit or remove your post. Instead, EBWOP will take effect. This means you may post again with the correct fixes.
3. Directly quoting or providing proof in any way of any PM sent by the host will result in an instant modkill and referral to the FGO. Do not talk about any PMs that you have or have not been sent by the host.
4. You are not allowed to directly quote any PM sent by another player, unless you are quoting it to a fellow mafia member confirmed by the host.
5. You are not allowed to request to be modkilled in the thread. If you PM the host requesting to be modkilled, the host must find a substitute or modkill you at the end of the phase.
6. All players' actions should be primarily motivated by winning the game. Throwing the game or outing your teammates for no strategic value is not allowed.
7. Breadcrumbs are allowed. Coded messages and hiding text in your post are not allowed.
8. Any flaming/trolling will not be tolerated.
9. Players' actions should be motivated by this game's events solely. You may look at past mafias to determine behaviors for better reads, but keep personal affairs out of the game.
10. Anything said within the context of the game, including promises, bets, etc, stays within the game. Players can lie, deceive, and manipulate, (but not cheat) in any way they like. Slander within the context of the game is usually not meant as a personal offense.
11. Players are not allowed to use formatting to intentionally make text hard to read, hide information by editing media before or after posting, change the contents of their signature or personal text in an attempt to affect the game, directly edit quotes by other players other than to add their own clearly indicated commentary, impersonate the host, or direct anyone toward information that would affect the game that is outside the confines of the thread, pads provided by the host, or PMs sent by the host.
12. If a player is suspected of attempting to use a loophole in the specific wording of the rules to violate the spirit of the rules, this will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
*Any use of the word PM by the host or FGO refers to any method of communication outside of the game thread and the public blab chat.

Breaking any of the above rules may result in a modkill as determined by the host, or a ban from future mafias or forum games in general as determined by the Forum Game Organizer.

Game Rules

1. The game will start on Night 0, which will be followed by Day 1. You may post during the Night. The host may disallow this if the game is very high activity.
2. The Nightkill is factional and cannot be tracked or roleblocked, but still counts as an ability that targets. Mafia are able to send in ability uses for each other.
3. If the lynch is tied, No Lynch will occur.
4. You are allowed to vote for No Lynch. You are also allowed to vote for a 24 hour extension. The votes are counted in a separate tally and you may only do one extension per phase.
5. Clearly declaring your intent to vote without using the proper format is a valid way to vote.
6. Town wins if all the Mafia are dead. Mafia wins if they achieve parity at the beginning of a Day.
7. The Day will not end until both the timer has ended and 7 minutes have passed since the last vote was cast or the last vote count was posted. This extension cannot be triggered by the same player twice in a row. If any sort of endless voting loop occurs that affects the lynch, there will be No Lynch. The day will be ended at the host's discretion if there is any vote swapping trolling/juggling, or if they set a hard deadline which cannot be extended.
8. If you do not post for two consecutive phases, or for any 2 Day phases, you will be substituted or modkilled.
9. NO COMMUNICATION IS ALLOWED OUTSIDE OF THIS THREAD, EXCEPT FOR PADS PROVIDED BY THE HOST. You may communicate in the official Elements blab chat, but all relevant messages MUST be posted in this thread immediately afterward. Not following this rule will result in the chat being restricted.
10. I reserve the right to make any changes to the ruleset in order to maintain the integrity and balance of the game.

Primary Roles

Antis

The Antis start the game as a team. Their goal is to kill all of the Idols. Each Night after Night 0, they perform a Nightkill on an Idol of their choosing.

Idols

The Idols are the townsfolk of the game. Their goal is to kill all of the Antis through lynching and the use of abilities.

Secondary Roles

All Secondary abilities are activated by PMing your action to the host during the Night Phase. You may not target yourself with any ability unless specified. If an EoR ability fails, you may use it again on the next Night. If a #U ability fails, you may use it again. You cannot use a #U ability multiple times in the same Night. If a player dies before their ability activates, it does not resolve.

Tokino Sora
Actual Idol (Passive) - You always appear as an Idol when investigated.
Daisenpai (Passive) - You are unaffected by all secondary offensive abilities from players that debuted after you. (That's everyone.)
Silent Stalker (ER) - Target another player, you learn who they targeted this Night and what types of abilities they used. (I/O/D/S)
So You're The Enemy? (1U) - Target a player, if they are an Anti and you correctly name their secondary role, their abilities are permanently disabled.

Akai Haato/Haachama
Coexist (Passive) - The first time you would die during the Night, one of your personalities dies instead, and you can no longer use their ability. You choose the priority during Night 0 and can change it at any time.
Akai Haato - Red Heart (ER) - Target a player. The first time they would die this Night, Akai Haato dies instead.
Haachama - HAACHAMACHAMA (ER) - Target a player. They become HAACHAMACHAMA. A random ability of theirs is replaced with this ability. If a #U ability with multiple remaining uses is chosen, they get a copy of this ability for each remaining use.

Minato Aqua
Sololive (Passive) - You are unaffected by Kiryu Kai and Oozora Family.
For the Win (2U) - Target a player whose post count at EoD was among the lowest 4 of currently living players, they die.
Clutch Gamer (Passive) - If you are the only remaining member of your alignment, you and your abilities become unaffected by all other abilities. If you are an Idol, immediately perform a kill on any remaining Antis before the phase changes.

Yuzuki Choco
Nurse's Touch (ER) - Target another player, the first time they would die this Night, they live instead. If they have an ability that was changed or disabled, restore the original ability. You can't target yourself or the same player twice in a row.
Physical Examination (ER) - Target another player, you learn which categories of abilities they possess, but not how many. (ER, EoR, #U, Passive)

Oozora Subaru
Oozora Police (ER) - Target a player, apply one of the following effects.
     -Target is unaffected by secondary abilities other than Oozora Police this Night.
     -Target is unable to use secondary abilities this Night.
Good Cop Bad Cop (Passive) - If both effects of Oozora Police are applied to the same target, the player who applied the first effect learns the names of anyone they attempted to target this Night.
Oozora Family (2U) - Target another player, they join your family and gain the Oozora Police ability for as long as you are alive. You may communicate in a private pad.

Ookami Mio
Tarot Reading (ER) - Choose a secondary role, you learn which player if any has that role.
Shrine of the Wolf God (EoR) - Target another player, any offensive abilities used by or on your target fail.

Uruha Rushia
Necromancy (1U) - Target a dead player, raise them as a zombie of your alignment. There is a public notification revealing which player is revived, and they do not count for parity. They may not talk in the thread or a pad and you control their ability uses. If you die, they die as well. Any changes to their abilities while they were alive still apply, including # of uses remaining.
Date (ER) - Target another player, learn the names of anyone they targeted this Night.
No Cheating (1U) - If you learned of any targeting during a Date on a previous Night Phase, target one of the involved players. Your target dies.

Kiryu Coco
Kiryu Kai (ER) - Target a player. They join the Kiryu Kai and gain the Asacoco ability. If a member of the Kiryu Kai is targeted by a secondary killing ability, that ability is redirected to you. If you die, the oldest member of the Kiryu Kai becomes the new head and gains this ability. Members of the Kiryu Kai may communicate in a private pad.
Asacoco (1U) - Choose one of your ER or EoR abilities, this becomes a copy of that ability that bypasses defensive roles.
3500 Year Old Dragon (Passive) - You are unaffected by secondary killing abilities.

Tsunomaki Watame
Tsunomaki Janken (ER) - Target a player during the Day. Play a game of rock paper scissors with them during the Night by PMing your choice to the host. If you win, their abilities fail. If you lose or draw, nothing happens.
Mukirose (1U) - Throw Mukirose during a Tsunomaki Janken game. You automatically win.
Gun (1U) - Throw gun during a Tsunomaki Janken game. Your target dies.
Respawn (Passive) - If you are killed during the Night, you are revived at the start of the next Night Phase and this ability is disabled. You are allowed to initiate a Tsunomaki Janken by sending a target during the Day.

Calliope Mori
Guide to the Underworld (Passive) - When any player dies, they may pass on a final message to you during the first 24 hours after their death.
Reaper's First Apprentice (1U) - Target another player, they die. This ability bypasses all defensive abilities. If you target Kureiji Ollie or a player raised by Necromancy, your ability use is refunded upon resolution.

Ninomae Ina'nis
Sanity Check (Passive) - You are unaffected by abilities from players who are under the effects of Asacoco, Watson Concoction, or HAACHAMACHAMA.
Priestess of the Ancient Ones (ER) - Choose up to two abilities, you learn which players were targeted by those abilities this Night, and any investigative results obtained. You may not choose the same ability twice.

Gawr Gura

Apex Predator (Passive) - You are unaffected by secondary killing abilities.
Bloop (ER) - Send Bloop to follow target player. You learn the names of anyone that targeted them this Night. The first time they would die this Night, they consume Bloop as emergency rations to survive and the Bloop ability is disabled permanently.
Trident (1U) - Target another player and spear them with your trident. Your target dies.

Amelia Watson
Time Traveler (Passive) - Amelia Watson always starts the game as an Idol and is unaffected by Tarot Reading.
Investimigate (ER) - Target another player, you learn their secondary role and all abilities they possess. If this is the second time you've targeted the same player, you learn their primary role as well.
Watson Concoction (ER) - Target player's investigative abilities fail this Night. If the target used Asacoco this Night, it fails due to an overdose and the ability they copied is permanently disabled.

Kureiji Ollie
Imitation Game (3U) - Target a dead player, gain one of their abilities of your choice. You cannot choose the same category of ability multiple times. (ER, EoR, #U, Passive)

Notes

You can use any number of different abilities per Night.
Passive abilities cannot be made to fail, but they can be disabled.
Killing abilities will fail if their target was successfully Nightkilled regardless of priority.
The ability a does nothing. If Imitation Game resolves on it, the ability use will be refunded.
Oozora Police will show as either offensive or defensive to Silent Stalker depending on which effect was used.
You cannot activate an ability if the activation requirements are not met or the target is not legal at the start of the Night Phase.
If two abilities that bypass/are unaffected by or make you unaffected by other abilities come into conflict, the higher priority ability takes precedence.

town aqua should probably activate with 2 or less town more remaining than scum and probably get a bulletproof vest instead of complete immunity to death, otherwise it either never triggers due to parity or is instant (except delayed for no reason) win when it does trigger.
