I get that, I'm just pointing out that the mafia the nightkill is directed at, would not have a lower chance of getting doc protection than several town members if doc is town, since doc does not know they are targeting mafia.

For now, yes. I guess my point is that we should be very wary about claiming important roles like Dura because even with protection, there's the possibility (albeit small) that the mafia can get around it. Any other thoughts on things to be aware of?

Core of Reason, Durandal and Emma Planck should all be on cooldown tonight, having Frederica Tesla target the exact same targets as last night may give insight on those roles. In case shock was included, we already know he used his ability N0 and did not have a Honkai Core.
At least one player has already given significant hints on their role. The one that first comes to mind might not be the most important one, but they would make perfect Theresa targets. For town Theresa with info on unclaimed people: remember that the other two top town roles are both EoR. So they should not be a priority when "random" lynching.

Hey, um, Link. I just want to get it out of the way for transparency's sake. I get the feeling that you are a bit unmotivated. I will not say that is scummy, and I will not compare it to previous games. But can you explain why you are keeping a low profile this time? I believe it is for the greater good if everybody heard your explanation, if you have any.

Me being so quiet N0 was due to being asleep for most of it, trying not to do a repeat of last game like I said I wouldn't, and not having a lot of energy since the Smash community just got hit by MeToo. Since then I've just kept the same mood and I haven't seen much for me to make aggressive pushes on. Also we have a lot more good players now so I don't feel the need to drive the game as much as I did in the past.

Sounds solid. Believable, good reasoning and active enough to keep a good understanding without the O R C H E S T R A A T I O N. But I guess I am more easily swayed by people who are good with words.

this was the last vote before the shock wagon fully gained momentum. ian and DC came from the w3 train, MW from kaempf, and Link and TORB from DC.
it's under my impression that once it looked like the DC lynch was going to gain momentum, DC and Link switched onto someone more viable and convincing than w3, seeing as how we didn't have any real scum reads on either but shock is more regarded as maf/useless town universally. I want to keep track of this in the future, but I wouldn't push anything yet besides still wanting to lynch DC tomorrow.

I like / enjoy this kind of analysis. Mostly because I am too lazy to read up those kind of things. Coffee is another town lean for me. Also props to kae for the logs in general

Two pages behind, andre just posted his reads list N1. Taking a bit of time to fully catch up. But here are a few thoughts up until that point:
I would have liked DC lynch better since shock was town for me. But not EOD lynching afk is something I like to advocate. It has a terrible track record (maf 71?). Ian became a viable lynch option later who I could also have gotten behind. So for me: lynch DC/MW/ian > lynch shock, unsure about www. So some earlier pressure on DC is fine. But without info - that we also won't get N1 and D2 - EOD frenzy is very likely to happen again. Therefore, I'd proceed carefully lynching DC. But I don't feel too strongly about it any more D2.

I am not sure any more who implied dawn is going to die soon anyway. Can we agree as town not to use Cecilia as a killing tool? I see the benefit of having the option to vig people at later stages but this early it is beyond scummy.

Wagonomics strongly suggest DC town. He was topwagon very frequently (competing with various different wagons) and the vote that decided he lives another day was torb, who i tr and who also had voted him with intend to kill afaik before, so doesnt look like any effort went into saving him.
To a lesser extend, I tr w3 for the same reason I tr timpa last game (that was wrong though, so maybe i shouldnt tr people for this anymore) as after he stopped memevoting dc he actually defended dc as early as when he was the competing topwagon.

My progression is fine. While it may be 'flawed' as in I don't have the answers at the start, but you are somewhat mischaracterizing it. I scumread him suddenly being active and different in a major way from last game wehre he was town (as in, he posted stuff this game... so I thought a variation in playstyle was something to scumlean THAT EARLY IN THE GAME when info is scarce) - and it was based on a faulty memory I had. Yes I corrected and adjusted my read when proper context and history was shown to me. I try to avoid activity tells on ANYONE when there is not a clear and hardline set of evicence to support it which does not exist for coffee - so yeah I rescinded any sort of postcount tell/read on coffee. I am not buddying him - I am finding that I have several times thought very similarly to him while trying to find some to work with a bit that I townread. It isn't foundless and I don't consider it buddying.

The fact that I was willing to try to get reads going so early is towny. The fact I was willing to adjust based on presented evidence and rescinde a scumlean based on facts is towny. Is it WIFOM for me to point this out? Sure, but sheesh kae that's a pretty poor set of reasoning as I see it.

I hate mechanics talk - but in a game so HEAVILY reliant on understanding and discussing roles like this one is I find myself somewhat forced into discussing mechanics. FYI - mafia tend to love discussing mechanics.

My readlist was developing BEFORE they were all wagons - I simply realized it was aligning and thought it was very unlikely I would have them all pegged rightly and that the thread would too - so I commented on it.

I didn't pass any responsibility and it is weird you characterize my voting scumreads of mine as "misslynch" responsibility passing - I see them as good lynches and only once a player flips is it even possible for me to know if right or not.

Kae - your attempt to scumread me is as shaky as I've commented before about some of your reads. I think I asked this before / last game --- do you have a scum-game example to link us to for background / meta? I already posted my only scumgame in the previous game. Kinda dissapointed you didnt even register that even though you already asked for it last time I thought. I suppose that doesnt matter for this game though.

MW: your lynch train was actually the first to break down before EoD. If trying to improve your game will cause you to respond differently from a previous game where you were town, people will naturally be suspicious. To further improve your game, having more content posts will help. There just is nothing (for me, at least) to townread you on at the moment.

If we really want a lynch, none of the bullet points (mafia would still call themselves town) provide any grounds not to. Nothing you can do about that part.

Most people don't have a solid idea on who to vote on. But voting on people with no votes on / being reluctant about hammering people let's other people (mafia) do it. As a concept it's easily as bad as NL. But I feel the same way in this situation. Luckily, there's a sound mix of people with different mindsets that take care of this problem. Still I think it's nice to remind yourself that those kind of votes don't really help town as much. Saying this while being guilty of the same fallacy. $:-\$

Coming in as a character reference: kae started out as being very cautious and methodical but with experience transformed into someone who pressures / accuses early even when information is scarce. I welcome this provision of early content. It's just important to be able to hold your own judgement accountable. But I am seeing progress on this front, too. However, you two seem to clash frequently. I was trying to mediate last game, too, but I can't say I townread the both of you this game already. Just keep a cool head and see this as what it may be a vastly different perspective. Only this game I am not serpcleared.

Adding the "FYI" onto the end of it feels like an attempt to say "Here's why I'm town and different to mafia," which is very commonly scum behaviour. Not enough to force a read from me on him for now, as my current favoured votes for next day phase lie with probably MW or DC, but can reinforce some opinions in the future

Ironically, judging from other games and his own declaration (e.g. last game) he does this quite a lot. I.e. saying he is town - as town and scum.

You can mitigate this by hard-claiming not Bronya. We dislike how Bronya influences lynch voting and you were the only person not to lynch vote.

To clarify: I looked for someone to put my vote on that might very well stay there until EOD. Not that I expected crucial information to surface until then but atmosphere can change quickly and one scummy post might be enough to swing an entire day's worth of discussion and votes. MW was my least towny/solving read at the time when I had to place my vote and your previous vote made it easier. It was more a catalyst than a reason.

Nahh i scum read you because you and Naii were the most sus votes on me. If shock didnt target kaempf with disrupting role, my vote woulda been on you or naii since thats really all the reads i had and still do have.

I don't see how someone voting another person that only you know to be town is scummy. But with the assumption that 'it's not unlike that in a group of four people voting together there is scum and the timing is poorly chosen' and a case of OMGUS you are suspicious of me. Until we have our investigative roles out with their reports (which should not happen yet) it's dangerous to possibly redirect onto Dura or other investigative roles like Emma and Theresa. The odds are both 3/14 for a redirect onto either. I think it comes down to what risks we're willing to take, but I will admit the redirect makes it possible to kill mafia. It probably is more beneficial to us for the redirect to happen, as it's possible that we hit mafia like you said.

That being said, the mechanics I'm talking about are if the mafia night kill one of their own AND redirect (in the case of mafia!Raiden) onto a target from there. Because all targeting gets switched, that means not only will the nightkill always go through, but if they hit someone with doc protection, the mafia gets a free protection from town vig hits.

Not happy with this analysis. Chances for redirecting onto them is the same for deflecting in the same pool of players. Raiden can also redirect onto mafia but hardly deflect. (There is a Seele Raiden×2 plus roleblocking interaction possible but 99% irrelevant.) But Raiden messes with more town roles than it messes with mafia roles. Still, mafia roles are more important than town. Undecided about its usefulness but it's annoying, just ask kae.

Other thoughts: mafia might have good information already and kill an important role. On the other hand, if not-Durandal dies, Emma is town or Durandal is maf. This theory becomes even stronger after N2.

Again, I don't want Cecilia to go about killing heaps of people. Do we have a consensus here? I'm going as far as wanting Emma to call Cecilia out D3 if dawn gets killed N1/N2.

How annoying is it to read my thoughts on things that happened 10 pages in the past?
It helps to make my conclusions in the form of readslists more comprehensible, but I also name things other players have already pointed out just not at the time of my writing subject. So, it is redundant or could be a copy of others.
Ideally, I am up to date all the time but if I fall behind it helps me to close the gap whereas I could not fully catch up if I did not do it at all while still giving input. But I could keep it a bit shorter, obviously my EOD thoughts don't affect the lynch that already happened.
This would also reduce my walls of text and make it more readable. So far I believe more content=better. It's more a question of mass quotes or a write-up then.

Is it just me or is moe way more confident this game than any other he's played in? Almost like a different person. I think this is the result of him rolling mafia for the first time and finally not being in the dark.
