The murderer was in trouble.

Attacking gang members introduced unnecessary risk given their range of powers, from quantitatively being outnumbered to lacking resources to access more nefarious weapons and tools to get ahead in the world. Most gang members from the low income neighborhoods were relatively easier to deal with since they rarely mobilized outside of their enclave. However, there would be a few stragglers that would weave in and out of their local areas that would be underestimated, and thus, far more dangerous.

mathman101 flipped several years back following a simple sting operation involving barrels of potatoes and a male escort who was mentioned on the news earlier that week that was also murdered. Working for the FBI taught him several techniques to weed out some particularly bad apples from society, but this one particular foe was extremely invasive, and the reason why his partner worldwideweb3 died so brutally in his own home. No amount of legislative work or desk jobs could prepare him for what he was about to face...

And the murderer, gasping for breath at both the relief and thrill of killing another professional, gained even larger resolve.
