Did people not realise when they read the rules that this was a Bastard Mod mafia?
This was never, ever going to be a super serioius mafia. Enjoy it as a change from the norm.
HOWEVER: the mod is supposed to be the bastard, not us. What sub did was still totally out of order, but quitting over sky's reaction is unneccessary unless you misunderstood the type of mafia this was going to be.

I was not going to join any mafias during war, i only joined this one because I wanted to experience Bastard Mod.

Ryli, there has been little discussion in chat about this mafia, and pretty much none of it would affect reads. Please don't ask to be modkilled, you're playing a lot better than most people played in their first two mafias, including me.

Demagog, asking to be modkilled is a basic right for mafia players, unless they are attempting to use it strategically. Other than the incident with Sub, which I am dealing with, I have not seen Sky go against her own rules. This game will continue as normal.

not sure exactly what you want me to say, I have seen nothing that appears out of the norm, nor anything that is rubbing me the wrong way in terms of scum reads. (maybe that is where I should be worried though since my scum reads are usually wrong.)

I'd say there's nothing about the rules that's inherently bastard - it's declared. Sky's two previous mafias had just as much stupid stuff in it and they weren't bastard by any stretch.

The bastard element comes from unknown arbitrage. True Power's unknown ability, puns that are sufficiently amusing, not annoying the host with pear. Those are declared arbitrages, which makes them retarded but not bastard.

Sky going "Oh yeah you can talk after death lol" is undeclared arbitrage, which makes it not okay, even in such a subjective setting. It removes the ability to even play this game not-seriously, as there's no consequences to anything.

I decided that Sub shouldn't be punished for this. Then I changed my mind. I never agreed with what he did.

The rule change never actually affected the game; it was supposed to get Sub out of his punishment.

If it brings you any solace, I admit that changing the rules was a mistake.

I don't really care about what Ryli did, but here's why I'm quitting.

People defending a cheater just because a game is supposed to be casual does not happen in mafia. Ever. I've played mafia for seven years and even the most fun community I have ever played in turned completely on someone who cheated.

That's why I asked to be modkilled. Not because of what Sub did, not because the game is bastard, but because of multiple people reacting to it as if it was literally nothing, like a speck of dust on a wooden chair, I overreacted, sure, but most of you are underreacting, in a way that is just disappointing to me. It feels like mafia is just a social outing for many of you and not actually a game that's meant to be played and respected.
