This all boils down to one question:
Is a confirmed civilian, with the possibility to be a confirmed mafia, worth more than an additional dead civilian?
There are three things I'd like to raise to the discussion that's probably about to happen:
1) When certain people had an early look at this ruleset, a good chunk of people commented that gideon's ability would cause the civvies to instantly win. His ability has since been changed, but it read along the lines of this:
"Publically reveal Gideon to everyone. Gideon can't be nightkilled as long as there as another white planeswalker."
You can draw parallels between this ability and what Mathman is attempting, although, obviously, Mathman's ability is weaker.
Is this trait still powerful enough to justify an extra dead civilian, assuming it was broken in the first place?
2) Narset/Ugin/Tamiyo are (hopefully) searching for white planeswalkers, of which Nahiri is one of. Given how Ajani is in the game, it may not be as dangerous for Nahiri as one would initially think. Could Nahiri lie in the shadows, wait a bit, and then have a spokesperson confirm Math's identity later? There is precedent for us doing this. (see mafia 47, with blackquill)
3) The number of assumptions going on here is irritating.
- If Math is town,
- If Narset/Ugin/Tamiyo are town,
- If Narset/Ugin/Tamiyo are doing their job, which no one's explicitly told them to do, I'll point out,
- If Nahiri targets Math this night,
THEN we get a confirmed civ a few days down the line.
Discuss. I'm too much of a pleb to actually have an opinion, after all. I'm just the librarian.
