There was almost no information going about this game. I'm surprised I made it to the end, even with a loss, because I couldn't even use my worse-than-a-doctor ability on myself. No offense to elk, but this mafia was pretty boring.

I'm a big fan of elk's work in general, but to not make Opal a staple character, and to only have her ability as EoR anyway, was always, ALWAYS going to be mafia victory

Honestly, this game was winnable without Opal. Town did a poor job with scumtells and blindly followed Root. This rule set wasn't particularly great but it wasn't bad either and I don't think pinning the entire loss on it is fair.

EDIT: Regarding scumtells, especially, I feel like when I died it should have made Linkcat almost guaranteed, and Root was almost equally obvious. Raving and Richard were pretty good bets even then too. This being said, I do think all roles should have been included, or all roles not included should have been stated.

^That. If root isnt killed by mafia with 3-4 days, then there's a big possibility he is mafia. Town could/should have been more active.

Also unless I'm missing something, town on day 1 could have had every player vote for the person who comes next, which would identify who Geoffrey was with certainty because every player would have exactly 1 vote, except whoever Geoffrey voted on would have 2. Then everyone would sent their role to Geoffrey, which would confirm the non-double role players...a considerable benefit to the civs.
