Any reason you prefer this over lynching Dm? (Just trying to get conversation going, plus I could be convinced to change my vote if the reasoning was good enough).

Imo, we should kill someone. We only have one single investigation role in the game, and we are not even sure if someone actually got it. Killing an inactive player wastes the possibility of killing a potential threat.

Not true, there are also roles that can indirectly determine who is mafia through who they targeted. There's The Master, Sauron, and Francis Urquhart. If they that someone targeted the player who was NK'ed, the targetting player is much more likely to be mafia. I really think using these roles (as well as Opal) is the best way to go.

It is gonna be hard for The Master to get much information, as he only gets role names, not player names. I agree on the other two.

As it looks now, there is no difference in killing Dm or not lynching, unless his mood changes. It is still a waste (thus I am a bit surprised by JCJ's vote), as he gets killed anyway, but we can wait for some investigation. Currently, we have no better target, so:

If that is unclear: My point is that he will be killed anyway, either by us now or by the host after day 3. As he is inactive, there is no difference. My vote is on him to avoid getting modkilled myself, and to give our investigation roles some time before we start with random lynches.

Lynching Dm this round is functionally similar to No Lynch and letting Dm getting modkilled down the road. Lynching someone else at random, meanwhile, opens the chance that we kill a villain, potentially a useful role, which is actually worse.

I respect this view but I see it differently. From my experience, in games with heavy role usage, town gains more information from the roles no longer available to them than mafia does. Since mafia is already the informed group, extra information generally matters less to them than it does to town.
