I have been thinking about whether or not to do a mass roleclaim. It would go something like this.

1.) The Power roles would tell me what their actual role is. The Vanilla Civilians would tell me they are Vanilla Civilians. The Government would claim to be Vanilla Civilians (because it would be unwise for them to reveal that they are Government). The Zombies would have to claim to be Vanilla Civilians, because they would stand out if they claimed to be a Power role (unless a Power role was converted, but even then, we can still catch the other 2.)
2.) We lynch one of the Vanilla Civilians, as this gives us the highest chance of finding a Zombie.
3.) Not very much will happen tonight, since most of the abilities will be on cooldown.
4.) We lynch another Vanilla Civilian the next day.
5.) Then that night, everything falls into place. The Priests and Travelers will go through the list of people who claimed to be Vanilla. We can likely find a Zombie this way. I will continue to have 75% protection from the Doctors, meaning it would be a waste of a conversion for the Zombies to try to target me. But if ya'll want to be extra-safe, I can arrange for 1 of the Travelers to target me.

So, what are everyone's thoughts on this? Should we go for a roleclaim?

The advantage is that it will help us find Zombies a lot faster. The only real disadvantage is that it could be pretty bad if the Zombies succeed in converting me, but I believe that is very unlikely.

I think that plan maybe works if you're town and if the government plays along with it.

If you're government or if government starts using their kills, might not work so well.

In the short term it's probably the best option. If not stopped, the zombies will infiltrate both town and government and use both resource pools.

If Root is gov. it will of course weaken town in the long run, but not as much as if the zombies rule all

The problem is, Root, that we don't know if you're Town or Gov't. It's pretty apparent that, if the affected roles followed your plan, you aren't a zombie. As the others stated, if you're Gov't, following your plan sets both the Zombies and the Town in for a world of pain.

What if power roles just claimed "power role" to Root? If he's government, this will still be info that will hurt town, but not as much. And if he's not, it should still be sufficient info to lynch some possible zombies.

Regarding night kills, Root could offer up a couple of people who claim vanilla. Whoever doesn't get lynched gets NK'd (if government plays along). This will speed up the search for zombies and reduce the chances one of town's power roles gets NK'd.

Fair enough, but I don't think this plan would actually go very well for the Government. Think about it - if all of the Vanilla Civilians are lynched or NKed, while the Power Role Civilians mostly survive, they can simply call for a mass roleclaim. Since there would be no Vanilla Civilians left, the mafia would have no way to hide their identities.

Furthermore, the odds that I'm civilian compared to government are 7 to 2. I think this is a risk worth taking, because the alternative is that we likely won't be able to catch the Zombies fast enough.

Unfortunately, if the power roles simply claimed "power role," then the Zombies could also claim "power role," and we would get nowhere.

Everyone could claim "power role" to save their hides, and not only would we get nowhere, we'd maybe even be a step back, since we lost a good opportunity for info
