Kuro, any suspicion is welcome, thinking like that is bad in mafia.
Thanks for the support ian - anyway, here's my theory:
When I look back at previous mafia games, yes, a good portion of the mafia members tend to be passive in the thread to a) avoid suspicion, b) avoid giving their members away, and/or c) avoid being caught in a lie/giving a plan to weed mafia members out. Ignoring extreme cases, most mafia members also try to redirect votes to another suspicious player to prolong their life in the game and plan out their next kill, rather than defend themselves directly. Then again, some mafia players just gave themselves up once they were outed, but whatever.
So would it be that surprising if the mafia took a more active role in a much more simpler mafia to make themselves less suspicious instead?
Since I don't know the number of Threxes remaining in the game, I'm going to say the following list is part of my 'suspicious' list, and one of them is probably mafia hiding in plain sight:
- UTAlan (see answer to RQS #1: "...but my gut says town has the advantage")
- skyironsword - acting in more traditional mafia footsteps of doing the bare minimum to avoid suspicion via voting patterns and talking/misdirection
- qwerter (mainly followed theelkspeaks' voting patterns throughout the more recent days before elk was killed as mafia)
The members of my list are helpful in a way and contribute to discussion, but there's a little finesse to their responses that actively make them avoid direct suspicion from higher priority targets. Especially UTA - although he's been one of the more active posters throughout the entire thread, I noticed that he's tried to redirect votes from elk to Linkcat interestingly enough (mafia members know better than to be completely inactive in a mafia game), and was left out of Zblader's original RQS list of responses when there was discussion about 'which side has it better'.
Then again, this might just sound like a bunch of insomnia-fueled babbling, so ignore me if it's necessary.
