Well, the mark doesn't guarantee a kill, because someone other than you has to vote on the person you marked. And it's gonna look pretty fishy if the guy X keeps voting on dies.

I missed that now Mark is used by the mafia despite making it incredibly obvious, other mafia may jump on the marked player to act as the second kill.

When I get computer access, I'll fix the rules so that Mark on activates on a non-mafia vote.

Thinking it though with the mafia odds and traitor odds, I've decided to scrap the 3rd-party aspect of the traitor role. One mafia member will get the Mark Ability rather than Search, and mafia numbers remain the same.

As I understood, the drawback is that only 1 person in mafia will have the ability to mark people. If that person dies, the threat ceases.
Otherwise it would be OP.

Also, that person won't be able to search for other mafia members.

I don't see your point. You just restated what the ability is, and I think it's OP. The mafia has two nightkills, pending their "traitor" being found out by the town and lynched. That's quite an advantage that's been given to the mafia.

And then mark becomes a tool for civilians to get confirmed civvies. And I see no thematic/mechanical reason for mafia not being able to trigger mark (with their votes) other than a balance issue, and that makes it feel forced.

And I really don't see how any of it fits the theme of a "traitor", now that it's part of the mafia team.

@Elbirn I see your point, though mafia can still vote the Marked target and hide among 'confirmed civies', but I see the point, in that case I might keep it simple and scrap Mark altogether

As I said in chat, the start of this mafia might be delayed for up to 24 hours. Nothing to do with the rules, but personal reasons, but personal (RL) ones.

My point is that having 2 factions with normal kills per night was normal during 2 out of 3 mafias. Now we have the same, but their kills are less secure and one faction is taken down easier. That's why I don't think it'S OP.

I agree that we were dancing on the edge, but that was true for the last 3 mafias.
