Our vote is based on perfectly valid reasons, as has been explained countless times. If he flips civilian I'll eat my hat. I'll apologize for being tricked by scum, and see to it that Crockett hangs. If he flips scum and he still quits, then he's displayed some pretty poor sportsmanship and I really don't care if he leaves. Sorry.
YOUR vote is based on valid reasons: you think I'm less than half as important as the civ policeman, so you would kill me even though there is just a 32% chance I'm mafia, as calculated earlier. Most of the rest of the votes are either blindly following the bandwagon, or based on a blatantly incorrect understanding of probability (Crockett and ian come to mind).
Whether or not I'm scum doesn't really even matter. The civilians made a decision that would most likely work to their detriment. If I'm scum, then congratulations, you got lucky and it was still a stupid decision to lynch me. If you have two Kings in Blackjack and ask for another card, it doesn't make your decision any less stupid just because the next card is an Ace. It just means that your stupidity paid off through sheer luck. But this is just one of many reasons.
There's the fact that Crockett cheated, and nobody seems to care in the slightest. The very next mafia will be hosted by a confirmed cheater, and I bet no one is even going to try to stop it. Crockett has responded, of course, by accusing me of cheating in Mafia 25. Not only is this a completely false accusation, but I was actually the one to try to add measures that would prevent cheating like that from happening in the future. Crockett, of course, then pretended he wasn't actually accusing me (he was.) And nobody on this forum even cares.
But even if we forget about all of this and move on, mafia still isn't any fun for me. If I'm civ, the mafia kill me as soon as they get the chance. If I'm mafia, the civilians investigate me at the beginning of the game. Would you join a game like this, Elbirn? Would it be fun for you? I really, really doubt it.
Mafia hasn't been much fun lately, and this mafia was the last straw. Do I not have the right to abstain from something that no longer brings me enjoyment? Is it poor sportsmanship to quit something that simply isn't any fun?
You have zero understanding of my situation, Elbirn, yet you still pass judgement, making accusations of poor sportsmanship. How disappointing.
I apologize to qwerter for all that I have caused. I still think your rules are very well designed, and thank you for hosting.
