That would be a really stupid tactic, to out one FG at the start of the game just to make the other seem innocent. That's one that I would never do and I'd never let my partner(s) do.
Let's face it. It's obvious that I'm a very strong player. The FG's would definitely want me gone early, and there's no better way to do that than having me lynched the first day. If I were in the FG's shoes, I'd be my first target. I wish I could think of a way to trick the FG's into revealing themselves to everyone while keeping myself alive (it's no fun otherwise), but I haven't had any ideas that would have a good chance of success just yet. That being said, getting rid of me will be a heavy blow to the innocents since coming up with ideas like that is what I'm good at. Without me, yall will probably have to find the FG's through bad luck, unless the person that PMed hobnob is an FG, then you'll only have to find one.
I'm just guessing, but here is what I think the FG's plan is. Have one PM hobnob and say I'm an FG and that they IDed me. Have him tell everyone he's the seer and that he IDed me as an FG. Then, everyone will either believe him and vote against me, or they won't believe him and probably vote against him. Depending on whichever one of us is going to be lynched, the FG's kill the other, leaving no traces. If the real seer happened to step up and say, "Hey! I'm the seer," The FG's would know who the real seer is. Then, hobnob might tell us who the person that PMed him was. If he does, that FG would deny having PMed him. There's no way to prove the FG PMed him, and people probably won't think that's enough to go on and won't vote against the real FG. If hobnob is actually the FG, he will at least be shifting everyone's gaze to someone else and may be able to survive an extra round when it's discovered that I'm a civilian. I think I pretty much covered everything...
The above situation is why I advised the person who PMed me claiming to be the seer not to reveal themselves. It would probably save me, but it would also out them to the FG's. I wish hobnob would reveal the identity of this person before both of us are dead, but I understand that he can't trust me (if I'm an FG, I now probably know the seer's identity).
